In this first episode of 2021, Martin and Shonagh look back at '80s teen martial arts classic, THE KARATE KID!

In our latest episode, we take a look back at John Hughes' timeless feelgood comedy, PLANES, TRAINS, AND AUTOMOBILES. Although we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK, we love to watch this film every year at that time, and it never fails to make up laugh, cry, and feel better about the world.

In this episode we take a look back at Sidney Lumet classic, DOG DAY AFTERNOON. This film is packed to the brim with amazing performances, from leads Al Pacino and John Cazale, to the amazing supporting cast led by Chris Sarandon and Charles Durning. Based on a true story, the film was ahead of it's time in terms of progressive representation, and is a brilliantly written, acted, and shot story of an attempted bank robbery, and the breakdown of relationships.

Just in time for Halloween, Martin and Shonagh take a look back at one of the most successful comedies of all time; Ivan Reitman's supernatural classic, GHOSTBUSTERS! Released in 1984, the film is one of the most iconic of the decade, and for many, it's one of the greatest films in cinema history.

In this special Halloween Season podcast, we take a look at our favourite 1980s Vampire movies. Shonagh and Martin get their teeth into Fright Night (1985) directed by Tom Holland, The Lost Boys (1987) directed by Joel Schumacher, and Near Dark (1987) directed by Kathryn Bigelow.

This movie really changed the game with regard to practical effects and creature design, and even after all this time, we still don't have a definitive answer to how the film really ended. We take a look at the movie's background, story, characters, technical aspects, themes, problems, and pick out our favourite moments, quotes, and performances.

In the second episode of Deckard's Unicorn, we take a look back at Quentin Tarantino's seminal neo-noir: PULP FICTION. Your hosts Martin and Shonagh pick through the film's influences and legion filmic and pop culture references, whilst talking about memorable moments, quotable lines, and discussing any goofs, problems, or unintentional comedy. Dr. Shonagh once again makes an appearance to playfully poke some holes in the film's science.
