Irving "Magic" Johnson Get's Rejected.
"When I first started, I was using my own money but I could only go to a certain level and then I said
"Hey let me go to banks so I can go to another level."
The first 10 banks turned me down and I new my strategy was sound my business plan was tight but they did not see investing in me because I was a basketball player or urban American.
But the next bank said YES! And when they said yes; see I didn't stay on the ground when the first 10 said no.
Like a lot of you would say "Oh no it's over for me".
No! No! See I said "Oh, I'm going to still make this happen forget those 10 banks. I'm going to still go out and knock on doors to make it happen."
And sure enough the 11 bank said YES! That's when I took off, now those 10 are chasing me down to say "You can have as much money as you want."
But I said "No! I don't want your money. You didn't believe in me in the beginning. So why am I going to take your money now?" - Irving "Magic" Johnson
