The Guardians have wrapped up April with a record of 13-15 and we're here to talk about some of the woes that have plagued the team so far, and round it out with some positive things to continue to look forward to. Logan Allen and Tanner Bibee are here to stay, at least for now and the offense can't sputter forever. Right around this time last year is when we saw the team start making changes to its' offense to shore up the weak spots. It would not be pretentious to assume that a similar timeline befalls the Guardians this year as they come into the tougher part of the schedule.

The Guardians 2023 season is underway and BOY OH BOY do we have a LOT going on with this team right now. Some good, some not so good, and some downright head-scratching moments. The offense is...inconsistent? Struggling with RISP, we talk about the Guards offensive woes. We also talk about the current pitching conundrum and how long it will be before we start seeing some of the youth that is promised to be the Guardians future rotation.

As we continue our off-season ramp up here at ATC, Nate Furman was kind enough to re-join us for an episode! We were able to catch Nate in a break between January camp and the report date for the minor leaguers spring training. We talk about everything from his growth in summer camp and off-season camps to our general love of all things baseball with our favorite players. 

Nate talks about what camps were like, breaks down some specifics about what the Guardians training staff were able to help him with in the weight room, and what it was like to be around major league players that hung around during camp. He has a very down to earth perspective that we think you all will enjoy and we love having him on and are so thankful for the time he lends so that we can bring things like this to you all.

Hibernation has come to an end and the dawn of spring is near! Fear not Guardians fans, a DREADFULLY slow off-season is slowly coming to an end.

We've got another prospect for you!

Recently added to the Guardians 40-man roster, Timmy Herrin's career and growth as pitcher has grown RAPIDLY in the last two seasons. From throwing 90-91 to now throwing 97-99, he is nearing hos goal of making it to the Major Leagues. Obviously there is precedent to believe that this is the case, Cleveland would not have added him to the secondary roster if they did not believe his potential can help the team in the long run, especially with how we have seen the front office covet 40-man spots this past season.

Yes, you read that right. The #99 ranked prospect in MLB's Top 100 Prospects sat down to talk with us. Tanner shares a lot about his baseball growth all the way from when he was young, to playing at Cal State Fullerton and eventually being drafted by the Guardians. We discuss what it has been like for him in the Guardians organization, adding a fourth pitch to his mix, his healthy velocity addition to his fastball, and his absolute dominance of the strike zone this prior season that just ended. He boasted an insane K/BB%, striking out 126 while walking only 27. We talk about life as a developing player, what Tanner enjoys doing outside of baseball, his goals for the off-season and continuing his extreme growth into next season. Tanner also shared with us some things about a few other Guardians prospects and what it is like to play among such a talented pool of developing players.

It's here! The Apex Jewel of everything that we have been working towards in this show; Zack Meisel was kind enough to join us to talk some ball.

Zack shares his thoughts on everything from the state of the team now to what next year might look like with uncertainties around pitching and some other spots. He also shares some insight from what life inside the clubhouse is like for this team with them being so young, perspective that you won't find anywhere else. Zack talks about what makes José Ramirez so special, why Amed Rosario is a must have clubhouse personality, and the overall vibe of the team that has served them so well in this long, but joyous season.

There's a saying in life that repeats far too often: "All good things will eventually come to an end", and sadly it is true. This is the last episode of this show for the 2022 season, as well as the last episode that will feature Chuck. Chuck is going to be stepping away to focus on some personal matters and I (Zac) fully support that as there is nothing more important in life than family. Welcome to episode number four of At The Corner where in today's episode, we'll recap the Jays series. I had the pleasure of being joined by my good twitter buddy Chuck for this one. The Blue Jays come to town and feature some of the leagues best pitching and hitting. While their team average does not show it, they are a VERY capable offensive team with solid starting pitching to back it up but have some bullpen vulnerability that can be exploited.

TalenTalk today will focus on talent at the AA level where the Guardians have some of their best prospects in the organization! Will Benson (who doesn't get talked about a lot) is having a great start, George Valera is still solid and Logan Allen is embarrassing hitters for breakfast.
