Civic Engagement with Christina Puentes: More Important to Learn and Engage Now than Ever

Christina’s Bio: Christina is the 29-year old daughter of immigrants from China and Colombia. As a former elementary and high school teacher, she advocates for equity and accountability in the K-12 education arena. Traveling Abroad and Coming Home with Lindsay Cohen, Cancer Institute Administrator Class: Culture Shock Episode summary: From 2010-2012, Rebecca and guest speaker Lindsay Cohen settled down in small towns of Mexico as peace corp volunteers. During their time there, they were assigned work to help their communities, but that work had had its ups and downs. While working on their missions, along the way they ended up learning a lot about the Mexican culture and even trying to share a piece of themselves with the community they grew so close to.
