Week 18 Preview: Playoff Implications and Team Motivations
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast!
We start our episode off a little bit more seriously than usual with a discussion about Damar Hamlin's near-fatal injury. But the episode is not all serious, and eventually your two favorite goofy fantasy players return to preview the Lions, Seahawks, Jaguars, and Eagles.
Week 18 championship games are complicated because so many teams have nothing to play for, so we wanted to provide some links to resources about which teams do in fact have something to play for. You can find the Kyle Dvorchak column we talk about during the episode below. You can also find the link to Damar Hamlin's GoFundMe below. Just make sure you don't accidentally donate to Kyle Dvorchak...unless you want to, I'm sure he wouldn't complain.

This week we cover slightly fewer games because we couldn't wait to talk about the busiest trade deadline in NFL history. What are the fantasy impacts of moves like TJ Hockenson to the Vikings, James Robinson to the Jets, or Chase Claypool to the Bears? Speaking of those Bears, is Justin Fields an every week start? Week 8 Preview: Still Undefeated with Real Human Beings
Welcome to another episode of 25 Yards Later where Allijah is still winning. This week was absolutely full of news with big trades like CMC to the 49ers and James Robinson to the Jets. Meanwhile Matt Ryan got benched for real human being Sam Ehlinger. After we power through the news we move on to answering the usual slew of questions. Who will step up in the Jets backfield after Breece Hall's injury? Is Tony Pollard the best play at RB this week or is it Derrick Henry? Are there any Dolphins players that we don't want to start this week? Can you play both the Colts and Commanders defenses against each other? And who is the top 10 tight end that you can pick up on waivers right now?! Find out the answers to all these questions and more on this week's episode of 25 Yards Later!

Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! It's only Week 3 in the NFL, but Nick and Allijah already have to lament the loss of relevance of some of their Best Fantasy Friends. But we will persevere and will strive to continue our mission to get you the information you need to get the win in your fantasy matchups.
This week, the 25 Yards Later boys preview six teams with some of the biggest fantasy storylines and questions in the league: the Kansas City Chiefs, the New Orleans Saints, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the New York Giants, the Los Angeles Chargers, and the Baltimore Ravens.

Week 2 Preview: Enjoying the Ride
Welcome to the 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! It was an exciting Week 1 from start to finish (well, almost, once the Bills got done destroying the Rams at least), and Week 2 looks like it will be just as exciting. Unfortunately, a large wave of injuries hit several prominent players with ripple effects that can be felt throughout the league. But don't worry, Nick and Allijah are here to help you figure out how to adjust your strategies in the wake of Week 1 and ring in some well-earned victories in Week 2.
How will Dak Prescott's injury affect Dallas? Are we excited to pick up Jeff Wilson? Will Ken Walker's return spell the end of Rashaad Penny's RB1 status in Seattle? Has Curtis Samuel supplanted Terry McLaurin as the Commanders' WR1? Is it time to start worrying about some mid-round (and in some cases, early-round) TE options? Is it time to sell high on Cordarrelle Patterson? Are we panicking about DeVonta Smith's goose egg? What WRs are entering into "dinner roll" contention? Week 1 Preview: Now With 100% Real Football
Welcome to the 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! Week 1 is finally here, and hosts Nick Luciano and Allijah Motika have you covered with some of the most interesting teams of the week. We start off by taking a look at both sides of the hotly anticipated Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams game before taking looks at the Denver Broncos with new QB Russell Wilson, the Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Las Vegas Raiders, and the Arizona Cardinals.
Can the Super Bowl favorite Bills start their season off on the right foot? Will Gabe Davis build on his historic playoff performance? Can Cooper Kupp build on his own historic 2021 performance? Can Allen Robinson bounce back now that he's with the Super Bowl champs? What will the fantasy weapons in Denver shake out with Russell Wilson at the helm? What should you do with the Bucs' players if Chris Godwin plays? How will Davante Adams affect the Raiders offense? Can Marquise Brown emerge with a new team in DeAndre Hopkins' absence from the Cardinals? What fringe players do we have our eyes on for the first week? Find out the answers to these questions and more on this episode of the 25 Yards Later Fantasy Football Podcast!

Real Fake Football 2: 2 Fake 2 Football
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! In this episode, Nick and Allijah continue what can now be called a tradition: they give live commentary to their most important draft of the season! Picking back-to-back, the drama could not be higher. Picks are frequently sniped, and our hosts have to stay quick on their feet to adapt to the twists and turns of the draft.
Which player does Nick have a change of heart on to take with his first pick? How does Allijah use his knowledge of Nick's board against him? Which early running back has Nick intentionally not brought up on the podcast so it didn't tip Allijah off? Which league-mate becomes the unexpected villain of the draft? Our drafters have to make live decisions for their teams in a 12-team, single QB, 2 WR PPR mock draft. Will our hosts be able to draft any of their Best Fantasy Friends? Who will be the first receiver off the board? Will Nick stoop to drafting a player just to spite Allijah? Which quarterback does Allijah regret drafting early? Who will walk away with the best team? Best Fantasy Friends of 2022
Nick and Allijah name their BFFs (Best Fantasy Friends) for the 2021 season. What is a BFF? They are the players that our intrepid hosts expect to target in almost every fantasy draft they participate in for this upcoming season. A player could be named a BFF for any reason; maybe we believe in their draft value, breakout potential, or role in an offense. The point, though, is that like our real-life best friends, we believe in these players through thick and thin (with the obvious exception that unlike our real-life best friends, there is the chance that we might end up dropping any of these players at any moment following a rough stretch during the season, but hey, the metaphor is what is important here).
Who are the players that we believe in so much that we're calling them our BFFs? Find out in this week's episode of the 25 Yards Later Fantasy Football Podcast!

First Mock Draft of 2022
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! Or is it 35 Meters Before…or maybe it’s 27 Feet? We took some time off during the doldrums of the offseason for some life events (for example, it's new homeowner Nick’s first episode since like April), so it’s been a while since our last episode, and your illustrious hosts needed to take a moment to remember what their show is supposed to be about. Luckily, they were eventually able to figure it out. We’re here to bring you insightful and relatable fantasy football analysis, and we’re back for the 2022 season!
In this episode, we do our very first mock draft of 2022 to get you in the spirit of the upcoming draft season. Who are we looking at in the first round? Is it actually viable to take a wide receiver at pick 4? Is it more or less viable if that receiver isn’t Cooper Kupp? Is it harder to draft this year than in years past? Why wasn’t Nick able to take the player he wanted to with his last pick? We answer all of these questions and more on this week’s episode of 25 Yards Later.
Be sure to join us for our next episode, where we will be highlighting our BFFs (Best Fantasy Friends) for the 2022 season. Until then, WE. WILL. SEE. YOU…25 Yards Later!

Intro to Dynasty II: The Dynasty-ing (w/ Dynasty Dad Michael Royer)
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! Coming off the heels of the NFL Draft is our second annual Intro to Dynasty episode, and we continue the tradition of bringing on special guests for our Intro to Dynasty episodes by welcoming Michael Royer to the show. Michael hosts the Smash Accept podcast, which focuses on dynasty trades and philosophy. Michael joins our regular cohost Allijah to give a primer on dynasty, talk about favorite formats, and break down the latest batch of NFL rookies. Michael and Allijah also recap some of the big non-draft related news to break since our last episode, including DeAndre Hopkins' suspension and the blockbuster Hollywood Brown and AJ Brown trades.
What should we make of top running backs Breece Hall and Kenneth Walker going to teams with established players already in the backfields? Who is Michael's favorite receiver prospect? Which wide receivers could be steals in your upcoming rookie drafts? Are there any tight ends that deserve a look? Which quarterbacks are looking like potential draft values? Speaking of quarterbacks, what should we make of the first QB off the board---former Pitt Panther and current Pittsburgh Steeler Kenny Pickett? What dynasty formats should you give a try? Who will bring up the Carolina Panthers without Nick? Find out the answers to these questions and more in this installment of 25 Yards Later's Intro to Dynasty!
Follow us on Twitter @25YLFF, @nickgluciano, and @allijahmotika. Michael can be found on Twitter @Dynasty_DadFF and on his podcast Smash Accept Dynasty Trades. Among the topics we break down: Tyreek Hill and Terron Armstead to the Dolphins, Deshaun Watson and Amari Cooper to the Browns, Davante Adams to the Raiders, Russell Wilson to the Broncos, Tom Brady unretiring, Matt Ryan to the Colts, and Carson Wentz to the Commanders. If that isn't enough analysis for you, that's just the first segment of the show! We touch on over 20 more moves beyond that list.! Plus, we name our biggest winners and losers of free agency, and Nick names his way-too-early Dinner Roll contenders (the show's nickname for deep sleeper wide receiver dart throws).

The offseason is in full swing, and Nick and Allijah are back for another episode to help prepare you for next year's fantasy season. In this episode, we preview the impending free agency of several fantasy-relevant offensive players.
Which quarterback do we think could have the biggest impact if he was to change teams? Who might benefit from a change of scenery? Which players do we expect will stay where they are? Which "dinner roll"-type players (the show's nickname for back-of-roster flier wide receivers) does Nick have his eye on to see if they land in a favorable spot? Which running back landing spots are the most intriguing? Why is Ian Thomas getting a new contract? Will Allijah ever recover from the Bengals' Super Bowl loss? Playoff Recap & Super Bowl Preview
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! With one notable exception, the playoffs are largely in the rearview mirror. On this episode of the podcast, Nick and Allijah round up some of the news that broke during our quasi-hiatus and then break down the fantasy impacts of the playoffs to this point. Finally, we wrap up the show by previewing the Super Bowl from a fantasy football angle by explaining what narratives we'll be closely following as we try to mine every bit of information that we can from the last---and biggest---game of the NFL season.
Will Allijah keep his Bengals praise under an hour? Should we be excited that it appears to be time for Trey Lance in San Francisco? Is it time to be worried about Ryan Tannehill? Will Cam Akers be able to run effectively following his incredible Achilles recovery? Who do our intrepid hosts think will win the Big Game? Fantasy Awards and Week 18 Preview
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! It's Week 18, and while the vast majority of fantasy leagues have wrapped up their seasons (including our two hosts, who each secured championships last week), we're still here to wrap up the 2021 season and make sure that anyone that still has a championship to come is ready with previews breaking down the Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, San Francisco 49ers, and Indianapolis Colts. It's also our last weekly podcast for a while, so we will see you all again in February.
After a news rundown (and yes, we talk Antonio Brown), Nick and Allijah hand out their awards, including fantasy MVP, championship performance of the year, and waiver wire pickup of the year. Most of the segment is devoted to compiling our All-Fantasy team, with our intrepid hosts recognizing some of the top fantasy performers of the year. There are some no-brainers like Cooper Kupp and Jonathan Taylor, but other spots were much more hotly contested---and maybe even controversial!
Why is Nick suddenly so into the Bengals? Were Derrick Henry's eight weeks enough to land him on the All-Fantasy team by themselves? Is Zay Jones actually good? Is Michael Pittman a player that you can trust, even against a hapless Jaguars team? Which obscure wide-receiver has impressed in the wake of Antonio Brown's departure? Which surprising running back is not only the RB1 since Week 14, but has also caught Allijah's eye? Find out the answers to these questions and more in this week's episode of the 25 Yards Later Fantasy Football Podcast!

Week 17 Preview: Championship Ring-ing in the New Year
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast. The fantasy championships games are finally here! Hopefully, you made it in all of your leagues. While there won't be any 25YLFF matchups, Nick made it to two championship games in four leagues (including the league of record where he has made it four times in six years) and Allijah made it in the Sports Obsessive dynasty league.
If you made it this far as well (and hopefully we were a part of that), then you know how important this week is. However, even if you didn't make it this far, there is still plenty of fantasy football to play with DFS contests. Whatever your case may be, the 25 Yards Later Fantasy Football podcast is here to help you maximize your fantasy weekend. We're previewing 6 teams this week: the Minnesota Vikings, the Miami Dolphins, the Houston Texans, the Detroit Lions, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Dallas Cowboys.
How does Adam Thielen's surgery affect the Vikings' offense? Can we learn to trust DeVante Parker again after he goosed and cost Allijah a championship berth? Are there Texans players that we like other than Brandin Cooks following their upset of the Chargers? Can D'Andre Swift return to carry you to fantasy glory against the Seahawks? How does Clyde Edwards-Helaire's injury affect the Chiefs backfield? Has Byron Pringle surpassed Mecole Hardman as the Chiefs' WR2? Is the Cowboys' bounceback game a sign of things to come? Find out the answers to these questions and more on this week's episode of the 25 Yards Later Fantasy Football podcast!

Week 16 Preview: Sleigh Bells Ring, Are You Winning?
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast. Well, Week 15 sure was weird. Record COVID cases, game postponements, and the fewest touchdowns scored on a Sunday since the mid-1990s all contributed to what will surely go down as one of the worst fantasy playoff weekends ever. Hopefully you survived your matchups, and if not, at least you know that you weren't the only one that had a rough week.
If you did manage to survive Week 15 (or mercifully had a bye), congratulations! You're one step closer to a fantasy championship! As always, the 25 Yards Later Fantasy Football Podcast is here to help you win your semi-finals matchups and attain fantasy football glory! We're covering six teams once again this week: the Seattle Seahawks, the Buffalo Bills, the Arizona Cardinals, the Atlanta Falcons, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Los Angeles Chargers.
Who can you trust (if anyone) on a very inconsistent Seattle Seahawks offense? Can the Bills take care of a second tough fantasy defense in a row? What will the Cardinals' receiving corps look like without DeAndre Hopkins? Can the Falcons take care of business against a generous Detroit Lions defense? How will injuries to Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, and Leonard Fournette affect the Bucs offense? Will the Houston Texans be able to do anything to stop the high-powered Chargers offense, even if Austin Ekeler can't play? Find out the answer to these questions and more on this week's episode of the 25 Yards Later Fantasy Football Podcast!

Week 15 Preview: Playoffs!?
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast. The fantasy playoffs are finally here, and while you hopefully got a bye, we've got all the latest news to get you ready for your matchups this weekend. And there is a TON of news (so much that we had to go back and add another segment!), between head coaches getting fired, the league's heaviest COVID outbreak of the entire pandemic, and star players missing significant time with injury. There's so much COVID uncertainty that we also include some tips to make sure you're prepared for any scenario.
Then, we have six team previews: the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots (taking on each other), the Green Bay Packers (@Baltimore), the Philadelphia Eagles (vs. Washington), the Pittsburgh Steelers (vs. Tennessee), and the Miami Dolphins (@New York Jets).
What quarterbacks would we start Ben Roethlisberger over? Can Carson Wentz, Jonathan Taylor, and Michael Pittman break through against a tough Patriots defense? Can Mac Jones take advantage of a generous Colts pass defense? What should you do with the Packers backfield? Is it too late for players like Ray-Ray McCloud and James Washington to get on the path to WR4 status? What should we expect from the Dolphins backfield if anyone is able to clear the COVID protocols? Will there be any players left by the time we get to Sunday? Find out the answers to these questions and more on this week's episode of the 25 Yards Later Fantasy Football Podcast!

Week 14 Preview: One Year Down, One Chance Left
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast. This is it gang, the last week of the regular season for most leagues. Our hosts have their playoff slots set, but there will be plenty of drama this weekend as countless dreams will be realized or crushed by just a handful of plays. You'll need every advantage that you can get, including getting ready for some of the key matchups by listening to our podcast. Week 14 also marks the one-year anniversary of our podcast! Thanks to everyone who has made this first year so much fun!
We lead off the show by recapping a busy news week in the NFL. Then, we have six teams to preview: the Carolina Panthers in their juicy matchup against the Falcons, the resurgent Washington Football Team in a sneaky shootout against the Cowboys, the Seattle Seahawks taking on the moribund Houston Texans, the Denver Broncos taking on the "hot" Detroit Lions, and the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers taking on AFC North foes the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals.
What can we expect from a CMC-less Carolina backfield? What should you do with a struggling Terry McLaurin? Are the Seahawks the biggest mess of a team from a fantasy perspective in the league this year? Can Javonte Williams replicate his success from last week, or will Melvin Gordon spoil his fun? Which Browns pass-catcher is a sneaky play this week? Who should you start if Elijah Mitchell is out for the 49ers? Find out the answers to these questions and more on this week's episode of the 25 Yards Later Fantasy Football Podcast!

Week 13 Preview: You're Not Starting Brevin Jordan
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast. We're on the home stretch to the playoffs, with most fantasy leagues only having 2 more games in the regular season. Our hosts are feeling the late-season crunch too, and we're here to help you win it all.
This week's slate is headlined by a potentially spicy Bengals/Chargers game. We break down both teams in a game that we think could be a sneaky shootout. Then, we revisit what the Arizona Cardinals might look like with a (hopefully) healthy Kyler and Hopkins, and wonder what the Minnesota Vikings will look like minus Dalvin Cook and what is wrong with the Los Angeles Rams. Finally, we talk about the 32nd different team that we've previewed this year: the Houston Texans.
Can Joe Mixon continue his hot streak? Will Ja'Marr Chase break out of his slump? Are Justin Herbert, Keenan Allen, and Mike Williams good options against a Bengals defense that is tough against fantasy passing games? Could an increased emphasis on the pass in Minnesota revive KJ Osborn's season? Can Alexander Mattison be trusted as a top-5 fantasy option against a hapless Lions defense? Can Rondale Moore or Zach Ertz repeat their gaudy target numbers from last week? Can we expect a resurgence in Odell Beckham's play after his good game Sunday? Could Nick talk himself into playing Rex Burkhead if David Johnson sits out this week? Who even is Brevin Jordan? Find out on this week's episode of 25 Yards Later!

Week 12 Preview: James Robinson is Mashed Potatoes
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast. It's our second episode of the week! If you haven't already, go back and listen to our Thanksgiving preview. Even if you're listening to this after Thanksgiving; it's fine to go back and listen even though you already know the result, you can still learn things.
In this episode, we preview some of the non-Thanksgiving day NFL action. The 25 Yards Later guys are breaking down 5 teams this time around: the Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In the place of a sixth game, we have a very fun segment where we compare NFL players to Thanksgiving foods. James Robinson may be dependable like mashed potatoes, but who is tangy like cranberry sauce or the underrated MVP like Cuban turkey?
How does the Jamal Agnew injury affect the Jaguars? What do we think of crowded Broncos receiving and rushing rooms this week? Which unrostered wide receiver does Nick have his eyes on this week? Is Boston Scott a flex option this week with Jordan Howard injured against a bad Giants run defense? Has Antonio Gibson regained Allijah's trust? Can Nick maybe, just maybe, be talked into playing Mac Jones in DFS against a Titans defense that gives up the second-most points to fantasy quarterbacks? Is there anyone you shouldn't start when the Bucs take on a Colts defense that gives up points to almost every position? Find out the answers to these questions and more on this week's episode of the 25 Yards Later Fantasy Football Podcast!

Thanksgiving Feast or Famine (Bonus Episode)
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast. Thanksgiving week is the best football week of the year! To celebrate, we're releasing two podcasts this week, with our full-length podcast dropping early on Thanksgiving day. But first is a mini-podcast (well, mini for us, at least) previewing the Thanksgiving games.
While we're very excited for 3 extra nationally televised games, the Thanksgiving slate is...a little rough, to say the least, with a rash of injuries making things even rougher. It features the traditional Thanksgiving teams, the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys, hosting the Chicago Bears and Las Vegas Raiders, respectively. Rounding out the day is a game that looked a lot better at the beginning of the season, the Buffalo Bills at the New Orleans Saints.
Can we find any Lions worth starting outside of D'Andre Swift and TJ Hockenson? Are there any Saints or Raiders pass-catchers even worth rostering, for that matter? Would the Bears pass catchers be better options with Andy Dalton than Justin Fields? Is David Montgomery a smash start against the Lions? Do we believe in Michael Gallup as the da facto WR1 in Dallas without Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb? Find out the answers to these questions and more on this special Thanksgiving edition of the 25 Yards Later Fantasy Football Podcast!

Week 11 Preview: New Friends on the Block
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! Nick has been on a roll! He's 12-0 the last 3 weeks and is so pumped following a huge Week 10 Panthers upset that saw the return of Cam Newton that he did the pod in a Panthers jersey, hat, scarf, and wearing aviators (despite recording after 10pm in a dimly lit room), all while basically demanding that we cover the Panthers this week. He also decided to take a short Nicktory lap with his recent fantasy success and threw together a quick quiz for Allijah to see if he could tell if a series of events happened before or after his most recent fantasy loss all the way back in Week 7.
Then, inspired by the midway point of the season, the guys welcome some new Best Fantasy Friends (or BFFs) into their friend circles. These are players that the boys ended up having on their teams (often on multiple squads) that they picked up for a great value and ended up as solid contributors (or maybe even league winners). Finally, Nick and Allijah preview 5 teams playing this weekend: the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, New York Jets (making their first, and presumably last, appearance of the season), Kansas City Chiefs, and the aforementioned Panthers.
Which players have earned the coveted BFF status? Which Jets do we think are worth considering? What should you make of the troublesome Ravens and 49ers backfields? What should you do if Clyde Edwards-Helaire comes back from injury? Will Allijah know if a coup in Sudan happened before or after Nick's most recent fantasy loss? Find out the answer to these questions and more on this week's episode of the 25 Yards Later Fantasy Football Podcast!

Week 10 Preview: Jagged Little Bills
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! It was a weird week in the NFL, with low fantasy scores and real-life upsets all around. We decided to take a look at four of the teams at the center of that weirdness---the Vikings, who blew a multi-score lead against the Ravens, the Browns, who blew out the Bengals, the Cowboys, who got blew out by the Broncos, and the Bills, who lost to the Jags in a game so bad that the total score didn't even cover the Bills' point spread. Rounding out the show are the Los Angeles Chargers, who are the other side of the Vikings game, and the hot Indianapolis Colts.
What happened to the Cowboys and Bills last week? Can the Colts continue their white-hot run of fantasy success? How impossibly bad (and yet still good) was Adam Thielen's statline last week? Is Vikings/Chargers destined to be the most snakebitten matchup of all time? What can we expect of the Browns' receiving corp now that OBJ is out of the picture? Speaking of the Browns, what do we think of the running backs with Nick Chubb on the COVID list? Can the Cowboys and Bills bounce back from humiliating losses? What deep-league receiving options does Nick have his eye on this week? What will Allijah think of the Justin Jefferson Windmill Video when he watches it for the first time live on the show? And what wild scenario has Nick concocted in his brain about Trey Lance's future starting prospects? Find out the answers to these questions and more on this week's 25 Yards Later Fantasy Football Podcast!

Week 9 Preview: Storyline Sunday
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! What we thought was going to be one of the quieter news sections of the season coming out of Week 8 ended up being one of the wildest news weeks in recent memory. Major injuries to Derrick Henry and Jameis Winston, trade deadline deals and non-deals, Aaron Rodgers' positive COVID test, and Henry Ruggs' tragic fatal car crash have all shaped the fantasy landscape for this week and beyond, so we decided to look at the teams with the biggest storylines going into Week 9. Plus, both Nick and Allijah take victory laps.
What should we expect from the Dolphins under Tua now that he is definitely the dude for the rest of the year? Can Myles Gaskin turn his steadied volume into fantasy success? Why do so many people only like Reese's Cups? What is the rest of season outlook for the Titans' backfield? Will Nick's mid-show bid raise on Jeremy McNichols be enough to pick him up on the waiver wire? (Spoilers because the show was recorded before waivers ran: the raise was unnecessary but he did win and didn't spend that much more). What can we expect from the potentially very short Jordan Love era in Green Bay? What will the Saints' offense look like under Taysom Hill? And what if Trevor Siemian wins the Saints job? Find out the answers to these questions and more in this week's 25 Yards Later Fantasy Football Podcast!

Week 8 Preview: Hallow-winning
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! Last week was scary because of the major bye weeks, but this week is scary for another reason: Sunday is Halloween! To celebrate, Nick and Allijah hold a special mock draft picking the best Halloween candies! There are some potentially controversial picks, including (maybe) the 1.01 (Nick disagrees that it should be controversial, but then he made the pick).
Then, the 25 Yards Later team remembers that they host a fantasy football podcast and preview six teams: the Cincinnati Bengals, Tennessee Titans, Denver Broncos, Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Kansas City Chiefs. Will the Bengals continue their high-flying ways? Will the Titans add the Colts to their list of impressive wins? What do we make of the Broncos' receiving corps with Jerry Jeudy coming back into the mix? And what in the world is wrong with the Chiefs? Can Calvin Ridley turn around his disappointing season? Are any of the ancillary receivers for these teams on Nick's deep-league radar? How will Allijah draft Halloween candies when he doesn't like chocolate? Find out in this episode of the 25 Yards Later Fantasy Football Podcast!

Week 7 Preview: Bye Bye Bye
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! For the first time this year, byes are significantly affecting fantasy rosters, and this week might be the most significant impacted week of the season with the Bills, Cowboys, Chargers, Vikings, Steelers, (and I guess we'll include the Jaguars) all on byes.
The guys wanted to try something new this week, so instead of the normal game previews, we're going to talk about 6 individual teams that we feel have interesting fantasy storylines, matchups, and players. This week, we chose the Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, Indianapolis Colts, Seattle Seahawks, and Allijah's Cincinnati Bengals. Plus, the debut of a new game: a play on the classic Pokemon segment we're calling "Who's That Journey-mon!" Inspired by Nick's propensity to bring up obscure, barely fantasy-relevant deep league options, Nick quizzes Allijah on obscure/journeyman players that are rostered in a deep redraft league that he plays in.
As always, we have a lot of questions on our minds. Who are the winners of the Zach Ertz trade? Will Allijah know who Kylin Hill is, and why is Kylin Hill on a redraft roster? How good has Ja'Marr Chase been? What obscure player does Nick have his eye on this week? Are there any Rams that we wouldn't start against the Lions? What do we do with the 49ers backfield and the Colts' wide receivers? Why is Allijah so excited to watch Geno vs. Jameis on MNF? Find out the answers to these questions and more on this week's episode of the 25 Yards Later Fantasy Football Podcast!

Week 6 Preview: Monday Nightmare
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! Nick and Allijah react to Week 5, which had no fewer than three potentially of the top-10 games of the season. Unfortunately for both of them, the Monday Night Ravens/Colts game cost them heartbreaking losses, as it did many fantasy players.
This week, the guys break down the Arizona Cardinals @ the Cleveland Browns, the Dallas Cowboys @ the New England Patriots, the inexplicably favored Minnesota Vikings @ the Carolina Panthers, and another Monday Night Football game that might end up being another nightmare for fantasy players and Titans fans alike, the Buffalo Bills @ the Tennessee Titans.

Week 5 Preview: What Do We Do With This Dude? (w/guest Andrew Grevas)
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network's fantasy football podcast! We had a great slate of games in Week 4, but I've gotta admit, outside of a single premier game, I think this slate is a little lackluster. We do get a London game, to make up for it, at least. Even if it's the least appealing game of the week, it means we're getting something wild like 15 hours of Sunday football!
You know what isn't lackluster, though? This week's podcast, and especially our special guest, 25YL Media founder and longtime fantasy player Andrew Grevas! Andrew is spreading the good news about the forthcoming 25YL Media rebrand, and stuck to help us figure out "what do we do with this dude?!" Then, Nick and Allijah preview three games: the Buffalo Bills @ the Kansas City Chiefs, the Chicago Bears @ the Las Vegas Raiders, and the Green Bay Packers @ the Cincinnati Bengals.
As always, we have a lot of questions on our minds. How will Justin Fields look as the permanent starter? What do we do with the Bills' runningbacks? Are we still not touching any of the ancillary Chiefs wide receivers. What about the Raiders receivers? When does Darrel Williams start being a problem? Were Randall Cobb and CJ Uzomah's big performances mirages or the real deal? How does time work on this podcast, anyway? You can find out the answer to all of these questions and more on this week's episode of the 25 Yards Later Fantasy Football podcast!

Week 4 Preview: Do You Even Watch the Games?
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! We did it guys---the podcast got our first "Do you even watch the games?" tweet! Not to toot our own horn too much, but the take that got us the response was also right, at least for one week. We definitely felt like that was worth taking a Nicktory lap.
Also on this week's show, Nick reacts to the shocking and devastating news out of Carolina that they traded away Dan Arnold. Then, after a news segment that was bizarrely interrupted by Nick losing power for 10 minutes and almost having to record the podcast on a phone hotspot, we preview Seahawks @ 49ers, Steelers @ Packers, Cardinals @ Rams, and Panthers @ Cowboys.
As always, we have a lot of questions on our minds. Is Tony Pollard any closer to making Allijah eat his shorts? What do we make of the 49ers messy backfield? How did Matt Stafford miss the Pro Bowl in 2011? How good have Najee Harris, Davante Adams, and Cooper Kupp been? Has Brandon Aiyuk turned the corner from his slow start? What about Robert Tonyan's slow start? Who is Allijah's early MVP pick? Are we starting to trust any of the ancillary Cardinals receivers? How do you pronounce ancillary? Find out the answers to these questions and more on this week's 25 Yards Later Fantasy Football Podcast!

Week 3 Preview: Taking a Nick-tory Lap
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! After a week where he went 4-0---including two wins against Allijah---and had some takes that hit big, Nick took the opportunity for what he felt was well-deserved bragging. He used his extra cachet to sneak not one but two games into the show where Allijah had to guess if elite players had more or fewer fantasy points than Cowboys backup running back Tony Pollard and Jets WR Braxton Berrios.
After rounding up this week's news, the boys dive into the four game previews: the Tampa Bay Bucs at the Los Angeles Rams, the Los Angeles Chargers at the Kansas City Chiefs (there's a lot of Los Angeles this week), the Washington Football Team at the Buffalo Bills, and the Atlanta Falcons at the New York Giants. The last game, while likely a true dumpster fire of a game, at least has some interesting storylines and players that Nick felt were worth examining. Will Gronk continue his torrid touchdown pace? Are we worried about highly drafted players like Antonio Gibson and Saquon Barkley? Who are some sleepers to keep an eye on? How big can Nick's head get? Week 2: Not Great, Bob!
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! Week 1 is in the books, and it was a great slate of games! There were thrillers from the Thursday Night kickoff all the way through the clock hitting 0:00 Monday night (and actually after too, since MNF went to overtime), and it looks like we could get more of the same in Week 2.
After listing off some injuries and surprise deactivations from Week 1, we jump into the game previews. It's a pretty fun slate of games this week, so it was hard for us to decide which games to cover! We ended up covering the Dallas Cowboys at the Los Angeles Chargers, the Kansas City Chiefs at the Baltimore Ravens, the San Fransisco 49ers at the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Minnesota Vikings at the Arizona Cardinals. These are four of the highest projected scoring games on the slate, so there are points to be had. Plus, the return of the Touchback Player of the week.

Week 1 Preview: How Will Marquez Callaway Do?
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive's fantasy football podcast! By the time you're reading this, we will have had our first regular season game of the year! We made it, fantasy fans! You spent all offseason researching and preparing for your drafts, but now it's time to set your lineups. Do you know what to do? That's why we're here.
We start with some of the news that has broken since our last episode, including Austin Ekeler's injury, updates to Curtis Samuel and Evan Engram, and the evolving Ravens backfield situation (which is so in flux that we had to record an addendum updating Gus Edwards' injury). Then, we check in on our BFFs (Best Fantasy Friends), before examining some tricky start/sit decisions. Finally, we preview two games with major fantasy implications: Packers vs. Saints and Cardinals @ Titans.
As always, we have a lot of questions on our minds. How does Jameis starting for the Saints affect the other weapons? Is there anyone worth starting on the Packers outside of Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, and Aaron Jones? What offseason fantasy darling is surprisingly back from injury without anyone noticing? What do we make out of the Cardinals' backfield? Can you depend on Derrick Henry in a shootout? Is Maxx Williams a real person? Find out our answers to these questions and more in this week's 25 Yards Later!

Real Fake Football!
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! We could have done another mock draft to cap off a long offseason, but instead, we decided to give you real fantasy football! We sat down to record our draft for our league of record, without which there is no 25 Yards Later podcast. You've heard us tilt about mock draft picks that don't even matter, now listen to us tilt in real-time about picks that do matter (at least to us).
The league is pretty standard: PPR, single QB, single keeper. Both hosts started their drafts off strong before it even began with great keeper prices for Justin Jefferson (Nick's keeper in the 8th) and Antonio Gibson (Allijah's in the 9th). Did their good fortune continue throughout the draft?
We will be back Friday to start our normal weekly schedule of game previews! Until then, we'll see you...25 Yards Later.

Mega Mock 2021 Pt. 2 (with John Borges and Anthony Pavolich)
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! Allijah is away from the show for the next two weeks, but don’t worry, he’ll be back soon! In the meantime, Nick is holding things down with special guests John Borges and Anthony Pavolich. John is a fantasy football writer for Sports Obsessive (making his podcast debut, by the way), while Anthony is a longtime fantasy player and the host of the creativity podcast Tony’s Tall Tales on Ruminations Radio Network. It’s arguably our most in-depth mock draft to date—it’s so long that we’re breaking it up into two episodes!
This episode, we finish the draft. As a reminder, the mock is a 12-team, 3-WR, single-QB, PPR. If you haven't already checked out the first part of the draft, what're you doing? Go back and listen to the first part!
The end of your draft may not be quite as flashy as the early rounds, but this is where your championships are won! A single sleeper could turn into a league winner, and we have sleepers galore in the episode!
We will resume our normal game recaps next week, but we might have some surprises along the way (for example, the bonus news podcast that dropped yesterday). If you haven't already, be sure to subscribe, because the NFL season is only a week away!

Bonus Episode: News Roundup
Welcome to 25 Yards Later, Sports Obsessive and Rumination Radio Network’s fantasy football podcast! With Allijah gone, the season around the corner, cutdown day behind us, and Mega Mock pt. 2 on its way, Nick sat down for a short solo podcast rounding up some of the recent news across the NFL.
Four teams announced their starting QBs, while two teams temporarily lost their QBs to the COVID list. Also, two promising young players suffer season-ending injuries, while some other injuries we've been tracking get some clarity (or don't, depending on how you look at it). Then Nick tells which highly drafted rookie is completely off his redraft board, and reflects on some surprising cuts.
