Two Dudes reboot their Digivices to revisit Digimon: The Movie (2000) with friend of the pod, Courtney Jessup! At the turn of the millennium, Digimon emerged as a rival to Pokémon, boasting its own video games, trading cards, and a beloved TV series. Roughly translated from three separate shorts, the 2000 cinematic feature loosely bridges the first and second seasons of the show, but does it hold up in hindsight?

Two Dudes revisit dust off their shells and shoes to revisit A24's Marcel the Shell film. Based on the early internet-sensation of the same name, this 2021 film brings back the series' original creators in a stop-motion adventure. Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp and featuring original Marcel voice Jenny Slate, the anthropomorphic shell with shoes remains as charming and big-hearted as ever.

Two Dudes are joined by cartoonist Madeline Horwath to discuss Studio Ghibli's seminal classic, Grave of the Fireflies (1988). Directed by Isao Takahata and released the same year as My Neighbor Totoro, this film strikes a markedly more somber note as it follows two siblings orphaned during WWII. Considered by many to be one of (if not) the greatest animated films of all time, this devastating meditation on the human cost of war is a must-see.

Two Dudes are joined by Nikki Rodriguez to review Pixar's latest film, Elemental. From opening weekend "flop," this animated rom-com has defied odds to become Pixar's highest-grossing film ever in South Korea, and Disney's highest-grossing since Frozen 2 in 2019. Featuring the voices of Leah Lewis, Mamoudou Athie, Ronnie, Del Carmen, Shila Ommi, Catherine O-Hara and more.

Two Dudes review Annapurna Pictures' new animated feature, Nimona. A mischievous shapeshifter (Chloe Grace Moretz) helps a disgraced knight (Riz Ahmed) prove his innocence in a royal assassination plot. Based on a ND Stevenson's webcomic and 2015 graphic novel of the same name, this thoughtful queer allegory has fought its way to screens after almost meeting its demise in the hands of Disney.

Two Dudes dive deep into the ocean to review The Little Mermaid (2023). The latest in Disney's string of live-action remakes, the animated movie came out in 1989–pre-dating both Alex & Evan. Will it capture the same magic as the original or is it dead in the water? Starring Halle Bailey, Jonah Hauer-King, Melissa McCarthy, Javier Bardem, Daveed Diggs, Awkwafina, and Jacob Tremblay, catch it in theaters now.

Two Dudes head to the scrapyard to revisit cult-favorite The Iron Giant (1999) with Dylan Dunne. Grossing only $31M on a budget of $50M, this film was considered a box office flop in its time, and only later came to be widely regarded as one of the greatest animated movies of all time after its home video release. Directed by Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Ratatouille), The Iron Giant has a heart as big as its protagonist. Featuring the voices of Eli Marienthal, Jennifer Aniston, Harry Connick Jr., and Christopher McDonald, rent or buy the animated classic on Amazon Prime.

Two Dudes put on their wetsuits to dive back into the world of Pandora with Brendan Smith. Cameron's second entry in the franchise begs the question, was it worth the wait? Starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet and more, watch it in theaters now.
