Episode 88: Tom Guarna
In this episode Jerrell spoke to Grammy Nominated Professional guitarist, composer, and arranger Tom Guarna. "Guarna has toured five continents with his own quartets and as a top sideman in several exciting groups led by Lenny White, E.J. Strickland, and Les McCann. He was a featured artist on over thirty albums, and composed “If You Dare,” a funk-rock song on Lenny White's 2010 Anomaly CD. Guarna also toured the United States with pianist Manuel Valera, after playing on the Grammy Award-nominated 2012 album, New Cuban Express" (from Tomguarna.com). In this episode Jerrell speaks with multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Abby Posner. Devious Planet describes Abby as "an exceptional Los Angeles-based artist is an outstanding, genre-fluid, multi-instrumentalist who has a new album, Kisbee Ring, due out November 12th. Posner played every instrument on the record, and she mixed/produced it as well. Kisbee Ring is about urgency, reckoning, and repairing. Each song on the album takes a deep dive into topics such as depression, racial unrest/injustice and the urgency of getting help when you’re in a dark place and “lost at sea.” Kisbee Ring is another word for Life Preserver, a metaphor that carries through the entire album."

In this episode Jerrell speaks with professional singer and songwriter Lea McIntosh and session guitarist Travis Cruse. (Description Below from Devious Planet) Lea knows the blues. She grew up in a troubled household where she witnessed drugs, violence, and criminal mayhem. Her mother was murdered when Lea was only eleven, and her early years found her dealing with physical and emotional abuse. As a result, she’s given voice to her troubled, tumultuous past and reasserted herself with a record that reflects both her talent and tenacity. Blood Cash boasts seven original songs that Lea co-wrote with collaborator and guitarist Travis Cruse, aided and abetted by veteran musicians Myron Dove on bass, drummer Deszon Claiborne, and keyboardist Eamonn Flynn. Episode 66: The Flying Cruisers
In this episode Jerrell speaks with The Flying Cruisers, a soft rock band fronted by female vocalist Ana Kreimeyer with Justin Waterman as the lead guitarist, Morgan Waterman on the drums, and Carlos Garcia as the bass guitarist. Rather than go for the usual de-emphasized soft rock beat and upbeat sound we all know and love, they use Ana's clean melodic vocals on top of the band's fury to play covers and create soft rock music that's instantly memorable. The Flying Cruisers is atmospheric, melodic, and hypnotic as they create music that quickly spreads positive vibes and gives everyone listening to them a good time.
