Happy New Year!!! For the first episode of 2021, The 81 Bridge is joined by Al. He hopped on to share his perspective, on recent events from January 6, as a vet and as law enforcement officer . LK and Al discussed their thoughts about MAGA storming the capital. Like most of the country, LK can't wrap her mind around the military not stepping in sooner. They spoke on the BLM protest and MAGA protest, and the difference in law enforcement and military response to each group. Is the White privilege real or nah?

Why Black Children Should See Themselves In Literature
The 81 Bridge is joined this week by Black Authors Timesha Harris and Rashaad Pritchett. We discuss the importance of Black children seeing themselves in the literature they read. Both authors highlight that they use their books to educate children about racism, stereotypes, and managing / thriving as a black person in society.
