Seth & Megan Marcum are whole family health coaches who are experts at showing families realistic ways to eat healthy and lose weight - without losing their minds. Seth and Megan are parents who know that no matter how much you plan and prep, kids always throw a curveball. When Seth and Megan began this journey to help families, there were a lot of myths about diet and exercise that they fell for in the beginning like thinking you had to work out hard every day, thinking their diet had to be perfect, without any of the sweets and treats they loved. Fortunately, they now know otherwise. Now, they work out less (but more consistently), eat healthier more often (but still enjoy sweets and treats regularly) and are in better shape than they’ve ever been in (and aren’t worried about losing that progress).

Greg & Carla Gibbs are the founders of Ox and Cart Leather, which all began with an appreciation for leather & leather crafting. Greg has always enjoyed creating and designing things, so when he started working with his first piece of leather, he was hooked. A hobby that started in his office has turned into a passion. Missions has always been a big part of the Gibbs' hearts, giving inspiration for the name "Ox and Cart", as well as their collection of products which are named after the beautiful towns they have visited over the years.

Heather Griffin is a Franklin, TN resident of 20 years and is the publisher of Macaroni KID Franklin. Macaroni KID National is the is the nation's largest single publishing platform answering the question for families: "What are we doing today?" for more than 3 million families in 4000+ communities across the country. Bringing it back home to here in Nashville, Williamson County to be specific, Heather publishes weekly, hyper-local e-newsletters and website content featuring events, activities, products and places for parents, kids and families. She is also part of hosting local events and parties and connects with the community through social media. She enriches the community by connecting the libraries, schools, rec centers, community centers and all of the wonderful organizations and businesses that create programming and fun for kids and families, with local families.

Roy Mangrum and Terry Barga have joined forces and picked up the torch to continue on with the Music City Fit Expo! Terry has many years of personal training experience with countless success stories and has dedicated his life to helping others better their own. Roy is also an entrepreneur who started out as a vendor at the Music City Fit Expo and has now grown a successful clothing line for the fitness community.

The Music City Fit Expo, the biggest fit expo in the state of Tennessee is back, this summer, Saturday June 18th at the Nashville Fairgrounds and is once again bringing the opportunity to be placed in a room together, see some fun fitness events, shop some apparel, walk some booths, meet some new people and see what the city of Nashville has to offer within the fitness industry.

Jessica Kaplan and Zoe Antell are the founders of Ready Dress Go. This venture by Jessica and Zoe pioneers affordable, fashionable and comfortable women’s business attire. Ready Dress Go is revolutionizing the way in which young women dress to enter the professional world. As students at Vanderbilt University, Jessica and Zoe started being exposed to opportunities within the business world, including networking events, coffee chats and other professional programming. With that, they personally experienced difficulty in trying to find professional clothes to wear that were comfortable, accessible, and fashionable – and they knew they couldn’t be the only ones. It was through this realization that Ready Dress Go was born.

Zach and Pam Graham are the founders of Sticks & Stones Axe Company, bringing the trend of axe throwing to Williamson County, Tennessee. Before opening their storefront in February 2022 in Franklin, TN., Zach and Pam held professional careers that started out in public service. Zach served seven years in military before becoming a firefighter and Pam was a 911 emergency dispatcher for 15 years. Wanting a more simple way of the life, the couple relocated to Middle Tennessee and first launched a mobile axe throwing truck and now have expanded to their brick-and-mortar location.

Tyler Logel, otherwise known as the Nashville Bike Guy, is a bike courier serving downtown & midtown Nashville. Tyler's story begins where many did when COVID-19 hit and then he found a need and a niche market in downtown Nashville and became THE hyperlocal delivery guy on a bike. Tyler wanted to show more people that this was an efficient and eco-friendly way to serve Nashville, not to mention super fun, while also creating hyper-local connections that could lead to more work for bike couriers in Nashville. 

Austin and Colin are a Nashville based comedy duo comprised of funny guys, Austin Bever and Colin Copper. The pair co-own Mac N’ Cheese Media along with their friend and CEO, Sean Webster. Due to the success of their 2016 music video “Welcome to Nashville”, the longtime friends continue their active comedy partnership. Austin and Colin primarily focus on viral internet content, with many popular songs, music videos, skits, and advertisements in their catalog. The duo have partnered with many notable brands and people over the years, including PepsiCo, Wayfair, Jake Owen, and several popular Nashville based businesses and restaurants.

Cassandra Coleman, a native of Columbia, TN, started singing at a very young age and has the journey from posting YouTube covers and being a coffee shop manager to gracing America's television screens on American Idol, and finishing within the Top 10. Post-Idol, Cassandra will soon be working on new music in 2022, but is currently focusing her efforts on a festival she is creating in her hometown, called the Columbia Indie Fest, which will be an all day event featuring food trucks, vendors, artists, and indie/folk/Americana live music. This is Cassandra's way of "giving back" and supporting & celebrating other artists, visionaries, musicians, and dreamers who take the plunge to pursue their calling. 

Josh Galigher is a certified bail-bondsman and bounty hunter who started the Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team back in 2013. Josh and his team has been responsible for hundreds of arrests and is one of the leading bail enforcement teams in West Tennessee. If you have ever enjoyed watching the live action of shows like Cops or Live PD, you're going to want to check out Josh's TikTok where he frequently live streams his captures. 

A.W. Miller is a father, husband, homesteader, author, and accomplished voice actor with over 37 titles to his credit as well as providing a variety of voices for video games, commercials, and apps. Miller is also the Arts, Clubs, and Enrichment Director at Valor Collegiate Academies in Nashville. Miller started out in radio where he wrote, produced, and voiced well over 500 radio spots before honing his voice for TV, film, and web. A.W. Miller loves telling stories and always has…partly because he believes that there’s something intrinsically human about storytelling and partly because he just loves stories.Miller released his first full-length novel, Ocean Salt: The Allagi, in November 2020. 

Casey Maples and Jeremy Fyke started a craft hot sauce business called Two Heads Hot Sauce and business is booming! Since 2020, Two Heads has been smoking and blending hand-picked peppers into a variety of hot sauces. Casey and Jeremy are just two good lookin’ bald dudes from White House, Tennessee who have turned their pepper addiction from passion project to booming business. These guys are fusing smoked peppers from around the world to create the most unique flavors. Two Heads Hot Sauce is being sold online and is also popping up in many local businesses which they are partnering with, throughout the Nashville area.

Mick Khoury, better known as Pedal Tavern Mick, is licensed to drive (and born to do it!) a Pedal Tavern through downtown Nashville while entertaining his guests, while also being responsible for their welfare and safety along the way. Mick provides a high-energy, lighthearted and welcoming experience for tourists to Nashville and has become one of the most requested Pedal Tavern tour guides in Nashville. A lot of Mick's popularity has to do with his viral TikTok account which exploded overnight and which has only grown from there. 

Tom Cunningham & Anthony Laney founded Grazr, with the purpose to source local food while supporting local farmers. Grazr is an online marketplace for buying and selling meats locally, providing an end to end farm to table platform. The Grazr platform links farmers, processors and consumers for more accessible, farm-fresh meats. As farmers, Tom and Anthony experienced the headaches in bringing animals to local markets. Restrictions on sales, difficulty attracting new customers, not knowing how much to bring to market or which cuts made for a clumsy and expensive system. As consumers, they were frustrated by the complexity, lack of variety and high costs of trying to find delicious, locally-raised meats.

Dawn Burns, better known as The Nashville Mom is a Nashville lifestyle blogger and influencer. The Nashville Mom is a place for families to connect with kid friendly events, restaurants and things to do in Nashville AND is one of the most highly followed family oriented blogs and social media accounts in the Nashville scene! Dawn and her family love exploring all things Nashvilles and sharing their adventures. Dawn loves connecting with other moms and highlighting the best of Nashville. You can usually find her eating her way through Nashville with kids in tow, trying new things like Goat Yoga, and enjoying all that Music City has to offer!

Peter Hartzell is the founder and president of Tree House Media. After working on a Business Marketing and Media Arts degree from the University of Montana, and receiving an Audio Engineering certification from the Recording Workshop, Peter developed his 15+ year career as a creative marketer. He is an expert in coaching and helping businesses of all sizes and individuals invite their ideal clients into their story and brand. 

Peter, his wife Amanda, & their three young kids are Montana natives that now live here in the Nashville area. Peter has had the privilege to work with Sadie Robertson, John Chisum (National Christian Songwriters), David Dutton (Replace Your Mortgage), Kahn Academy Kids, just to name a few. 

Sara Schuster is an herbalist, homesteader, and medicinal herb farmer living and growing on 13 acres just north of Nashville. Throughout her teen years and into early adulthood, Sara felt called to the plant wold but instead spent a decade trying on different careers before finally returning to the plant path. Now Sara’s days are happily filled with tending to the farm and woods where she grows medicinal herbs, creates small-batch herbal products, and offers one-on-one client consultations through her business, Fox & Elder. When we’re not in the middle of pandemic, Sara also offers classes and hands-on workshops. She also hosts the Tending Seeds podcast where she shares her knowledge about all things gardening, farming, herbalism, and homesteading.

Plant conservation and plant medicine accessibility are both passions of Saras and because of that she is a member and financial supporter of United Plant Savers and Herbalists Without Borders. She has also served on the leadership board for the Tennessee chapter of the American Herbalist Guild since 2018.

Shannon Bennett, along with her husband, and kids run Creative Crayons Workshop, a business right in their home in which they are designing custom, personalized, handmade crayons by upcycling. Shannon and her husband Matt are passionate about creativity. Together they think outside the box - the crayon box - designing custom themed crayons spurred on by wild ideas of their four children. The Bennetts feel privileged knowing that their handmade crayons have made thousands of kids smile being given as gifts or party favors over the years. The sky is the limit when it comes to the form a crayon can take and they are ready for the fun challenge. 

Amanda Garren is the founder and president of Nashville Angels , which builds community and hope for foster care families around Nashville. The mission of Nashville Angels is to walk alongside children in the foster care system, as well as their caretakers, by offering consistent support through intentional giving, relationship building, and mentorship.

In college, Amanda had the idea to start a non-profit, but she was unsure of what that would look like. After moving to Nashville and stumbling upon a podcast featuring Susan Ramirez from National Angels, she knew this was the opportunity that she was called for in Nashville. Amanda believes that every child should have the opportunity to dream and to chase those dreams.

John Meese is a traditionally-trained economist turned serial entrepreneur. John has a passion for helping entrepreneurs build thriving businesses by documenting everything he has learned from building his own businesses. In early 2020, John, along with his wife Rachel, launched Cowork Columbia, an entrepreneur center in Columbia, Tennessee, to support the local business community in their hometown. Jay Cleveland is the founder of Tennessee Peanut Company. What started as an idea between friends and family soon grew into a multi-market business that handles national shipping, wholesale fulfillment, product design, a love of community and eye for design. Tennessee Peanut Co. highlights the history of southern boiled peanuts with an artisan twist for the Nashville, Tennessee area. From the concept to execution, Tennessee Peanut Co. is a physical showcase of what’s possible with hard work and intentional design.

Many people are unaware that peanuts do not grow well in Tennessee. Hence, all of your favorite roadside stands are usually spotted on scenic highways throughout the Southeast, outfitted by older gentlemen in farmer hats, with soft smiles and stories to tell. Raised in Northern Alabama with plenty of memories of his Granddad’s beloved snack and wheel-jerking turns when a boiled peanut sign was spotted, Jay brought his family roots to Nashville and continues the tradition.

Eric Black, otherwise known by ‘Eric Black Was Here’ provides all of your video production needs to expand your brand presence, engage with your customers and leave a lasting impression. His company provides full range of services for businesses and events from transforming your social media presence to making your next event memorable. From video production, content creation, interviews, trade show coverage, on-camera hosting, voice overs and event photography, Eric does it all, and does it well. This guy has even had the opportunity to interview celebrities on the red carpet at the Grammy’s.

Eric also has an extensive background in the rock and metal music scene as both a performer, as well as with producing and hosting several radio shows. More recently, and since recording this episode, Eric has launched the Rockcast along with another former on-air personality for 102.9 The Buzz, Parker Minor where they are bringing you the best interviews, relevant topics and entertainment in rock, metal, and alternative music.

Paul Schmitz is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of ShowerUp. Paul and his wife, Rhonda, launched ShowerUp in the Fall of 2016, after Paul left a 30+ year career in radio to serve ShowerUp full time. The idea of mobile shower units started after discovering there were very few places to get a hot shower and take care of basic hygiene for the poor and homeless in Nashville. The mission of ShowerUp is to build relationships, restore hope and dignity, and show the love of God with those in need by providing them with shower services and personal care. 

Since starting in 2016, ShowerUp has expanded to Huntsville, AL, and will be coming soon to Wichita, KS.

Jay Farrell is a Nashville based professional photographer, published author, and urban explorer. Jay has a passion for utilizing his camera to share the unique, distressed beauty of abandoned homes and structures that most of the world has forgotten. Sharing his adventures with the public through authorship and blogging inspires him as much as the adventures themselves. Jay's books feature photography from abandoned building excursions in various states and forgotten corners of Americana. Jay's goal is to provide the reader a visual experience and a personalized narrative of the experience. 

Absurd Ty Higgins is a tattoo artist who is currently part of the talented team at Titan Tattoo in Nashville. Ty is a graduate of Belmont's Studio Art program and is an incredible artist and super creative guy. Ty is passionate about self-improvement, continuing to grow as an artist, and helping others along the way. While Ty is growing his clientele and portfolio, he can also be seen all over social media making crude attempts at humor, providing insights into being a tattoo artist, and even roasting terrible artwork and tattoos. 

Brian Quick is a professional drummer, educator, composer and entrepreneur. Brian starting playing drum at the age of 6, inspired by his papal and the band Hanson. As Brian got older he had to make a decision to focus his career on drumming or sports, Brian chose drumming. Since 2006, Brian has been working with marching bands, playing in various bands, and composing and growing as an entrepreneur.

Brian has a heart for helping others grow. He believes his success is based off of what his clients do with their careers which is why he created The Weekly Creative, a $7 a month subscription program that helps drummers pave out their careers through career development, branding, networking and marketing.

Nashville recording artists and North Dakota's own, Kendra and Krista, combine distinctive talents to comprise the genre-bending duo, Tigirlily. Jimmy Gularek is the founder and owner of Around the Neighborhood Oil Change, which is a mobile oil change service that he started in 2019. The premise of Jimmy's business is that they come to you at your home or office, so that you save time for what's important in life. Around the Neighborhood Oil Change services Brentwood, Franklin, Nolensville, Nashville, and surrounding areas.

Mignon Francois is the Founder and CEO of The Cupcake Collection in Nashville and New Orleans. While crunching numbers and creating the craze are amongst her job requirements, Mignon’s favorite responsibilities of her role are giving hugs, listening, and mentoring her team and other up and coming entrepreneurs who seek after her grass roots experience. Mignon developed an iconic flavor in her Historic Germantown neighborhood with a concept that was never seen before. And out of this, it would ignite a new movement to the area for other business concepts that might not otherwise have considered doing business in North Nashville. If you google Mignon's name, the first thing you will see is how she turned $5 into a $10 million business through her faith and belief.

Elias Gabriel, otherwise known to his social media followers as Gas Pedal Kid, is creating a following as a kid who loves all things automotive, and photographing cars all over the Nashville area. If you attend any car events between Nashville and up into Kentucky, you more than likely have seen Gas Pedal Kid there drooling over the cars and snapping amazing photos of everything he can. At 11 years old, Gas Pedal Kid has a bright future ahead of him as an automotive expert, photographer, and even a social media influencer.

Sean Giovanni is a Record Producer, Audio Engineer, Project Manager, Educator, and the owner of The Record Shop, a recording studio and multi-media production company in Nashville, TN.

After working as a freelance engineer and producer for several years, Sean decided it was time to open his own facility with a goal to create a relaxed, creative environment that focused on the artistic vision of his clients.

Sean enjoys working in a wide range of genres, and has had the privilege to work with artists ranging from John Legend and Juicy J to Big & Rich and Tim McGraw to Zakk Wylde and The Wallflowers.

Common Law Brewing Co. is the brainchild of Brad Eldridge-Smith and Mark Valencia, who actually met through a beer brewing Facebook group. Common Law Brewing Co. was brewed up during one of Brad and Mark’s many home brewing sessions. It didn’t take long to realize that the idea was exactly what Spring Hill, TN needed.

Just because Common Law Brewing isn’t open in a physical location yet, that doesn’t mean there aren’t ways to taste their unique beers. In the future, they will be updating their social media accounts with festivals, competitions, and events that will feature Common Law beers. Brad and Mark are also in the process of bringing a true craft brewery to Spring Hill, TN by 2021.

Kala Ellis is a Nashville based bartender whose career in the service industry spans over fifteen years. Kala's passion for the cocktail world stems from her love of teaching and community. She has led multiple bar teams, encouraging a culture of innovation with each one. Kala's cocktail curation has landed her on Today in Nashville multiple times, and features in the Tennessean. 

Amidst the recent challenges presented to the service industry, Kala found herself out of work and came up with a new way for you to interact with your favorite bartenders. She has created cocktail kits delivered straight to your door!

Raven Hernandez is the founder and CEO of Earth Rideshare. Earth Rideshare is a new ride-sharing service app that's 100% electric-vehicle based, offering premium rides utilizing Tesla's line of vehicles. In addition, a portion of each ride goes to tree planting in your city.

Raven also has a passion for clean and healthy living and is on a mission to create healthy lives for students in Tennessee, and across the rest of the United States.

Tim Dillard is a husband, father, professional baseball player, and viral social media funnyman who calls Nashville his home. Dillard has spent most of his professional baseball career within the Milwaukee Brewers and most recently, the Texas Rangers organizations. While Dillard's professional baseball career dates back to 2003, he has had a few notable stints in the major leagues, but is more known as a veteran and mentor in the minor league system, specifically with the Nashville Sounds. 

Many also know Dillard for being a social media funnyman and from his viral social media videos where he and his friends, teammates, and even family dub over popular movies, shows, music, and internet trends. 

Bag of Joy Bagel Co. in Spring Hill, TN is something that may long exist after the COVID-19 pandemic passes. Nick and Kailani DeLorenzo, along with their four children, have created Bag of Joy Bagel Co. after temporarily losing both incomes due to COVID-19 closures. They did what any family should do in times of crisis, which is not panic, and think outside the box to make income. They got together and thought, “How can we pivot and support our family to make income when we CAN’T do our normal jobs right now?". So, they started making bagels in their home kitchen and the rest is history.

Within only a few weeks of existence, Bag of Joy Bagel Co. grew to over 1,000 Facebook followers, sold out of bagels multiple times, and have already been featured by Fox 17 Nashville and News Channel 5 Nashville.

Wendy Lee Stephenson is a Jersey girl turned southern currently residing in Thompson’s Station, Tennessee. She loves worship music, sunshine, lake life and building community online and in person. As a mom of 7 surviving on Jesus, coffee and dry shampoo, she runs two virtual businesses both centered on helping catapult others into their true calling. Yes, mom of 7….Wendy has a passion for adoption and foster care, having 3 adopted children of her own.

Wendy started out spending many years working in corporate America, but knew she wanted to do more. You’ll hear us talk about it in the episode, but Wendy is part of a community called Butterfly Entrepreneur, which is an online space she is growing to build relationships with others running in their own lane of the marathon of entrepreneurship, and where she is focusing on social learning in a way of helping others grow and build their social media marketing and engagement.

Small business and musician livelihoods are being challenged here in Middle Tennessee due to the COVID-19 epidemic. On top of that, with school closures, parents and caretakers have been thrusted into the world of home schooling.

Three entrepreneurs from each of those industries join the podcast to discuss how Middle Tennessee is being affected, as well as a common theme of thinking "outside the box" during these trying times. 

Jen Starsinic is a multi-instrumentalist and indie rock singer/songwriter who landed in Nashville back in 2014, after already cutting her teeth in the old-time music communities of Pennsylvania and West Virginia. A graduate of the Berklee School of Music, she had also earned her stripes as a road warrior by joining the touring lineups of several bands. Starsinic has been playing local rock clubs over the last few years all around Nashville, evolving her sound from a sparse indie folk to a more full-band oriented alternative rock while balancing a gravely ill parent and grappling with childhood drama. Jen’s new album, “Bad Actor”, was released back on February 7th, 2020 and finds the singer-songwriter in full confessional mode probing depression and anxiety. 

Doug Smith is a software developer, popular speaker, teacher, mentor, and author of the book, [Un]Intentional: How Screens Secretly Shape Your Desires and How You Can Break Free. As a software developer, Doug spent many years serving Fortune 500 companies, startups, universities and government agencies. From 2008 to 2016, Doug served as a Senior Developer on Dave Ramsey’s digital development team, where he played a role in building out Dave’s technology infrastructure. Doug is gratefully married to fellow author Lyneta, and the couple is blessed with four wonderful daughters.

In his book, Doug offers an insider’s perspective on the impact of technology, informed by his over two decades of web programming experience and a lifetime of bible study. [Un]Intentional shows how our obsession with screens often takes us—unintentionally—to places we regret. Doug has been featured on both the Christian Television Network (CTN) and Moody Radio. Caitlyn Foley is the owner and founder of She Shee Photography. She is the creative force behind the lens and has always had a passion for capturing the perfect moment ever since she received her first camera. Caitlyn later decided on a career as a portrait photographer and earned her Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts & Design specializing in Studio Photography at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania. Closing up a business Caitlyn ran for several years in Pennsylvania with her fiancé, She Shee Photography relocated to Nashville, Tennessee a few years ago to take the business to the next level. Caitlyn wears many hats with many niches. What makes Caitlyn unique is her incorporation of her fashion and graphic design experience into her photography. Caitlyn may best be summarized as an adventurer destination, headshot, commercial & portrait photographer for the young, wild, & the adventurous.

Caitlyn’s work has been featured in a number of publications and has been acknowledged both nationally and internationally. Her dream is to become a fashion & National Geographic Wildlife photographer and to own her own store line of her photography work with hopes her work will one day be displayed around the world.

Trevor Sarver is a punk rocker turned entrepreneur and is the founder and CEO of 85 Supply, a full service supplier of wholesale printed merchandise. 85 Supply offers everything from apparel printing, promotional products, digital printing, embroidery, and graphic design. Since starting in 2013, Trevor and his crew have taken the industry by storm and show no signs of slowing down.

Trevor previously spent over 10 years putting out albums and touring all over the country and playing guitar in the rock band, The Wedding which toured with the likes of Thousand Foot Krutch, Love and Death, Bleach, Anberlin, Disciple, and The O.C. Supertones. More recently, in 2016, Trevor released a self-titled EP under the moniker Tramps, where he takes over lead vocal duties, and puts forward a more American rock n roll sound.

Rachel Corvi is a space creator and a mother of three children living in southern Middle Tennessee. She is creating magical moments with indoor and outdoor picnics through her business, Picnic Dates and Events. Rachel has a passion for organizing and hosting events for family and friends, and joining people together to create lasting memories. She also partners with other businesses (photographers, bake shops, decorators, florists, etc.) throughout Nashville to bring her picnic experiences to the next level.

In 2018, Rachel’s daughter, Bella, was diagnosed with cancer. Many days and nights were spent in the hospital, and the experience deepened and strengthened Rachel’s value in the importance of creating beautiful memories with those you love. Now that her daughter is in full recovery, Rachel is sharing her love of picnics and intimacy with the community!

Craig Murray is a Film Director and Cinematographer drawn to expressive concepts and simplistic style. Craig came to filmmaking by way of advertising, design, photography, and years of working in digital product design. By day, Craig works at Chase as a Creative Director producing mini-documentaries, short films, and strategic vision for future products. He’s worked over the last 15+ years leading creative for some of the most pioneering teams in the world (Google, Lonely Planet, Samsung). Craig also freelances as a Director, Director of Photography, Camera Operator, and Editor of documentary and commercial films.

Sean Miller is the founder and owner of The Yard Sale Store and The Auction House in Middle Tennessee. Sean and his wife, Miriam, started in the liquidation business around 12 years ago buying overstocked water heaters from Home Depot and selling them in a Nolensville Road shop, and gradually grew into what they are today with inventory from stores such as Amazon, Wayfair, Target, and Home Depot, and prices that are 30% to 90% off retail. The Millers run Yard Sale Store retail stores in Smyrna, Murfreesboro, and Mt. Juliet and they also operate The Auction House in Smyrna, which holds a Saturday live auction every week, where you can find great scratch and dent deals. 

The Yard Sale Store has been recognized as a Ruthies award winner 3 years running and has been featured on Nashville's NewsChannel5 "Talk of the Town".
