Lois Tverberg, popular Christian author of the “Rabbi Jesus” book series, shares the story of why she left her career as a college biology professor to write about the Jewish context of Jesus full time.

It begins with her struggle to answer a critical question for many Christians. Did the historical Jesus actually claim to be the Messiah and Son of God, or was this just made up by later Gentile followers? During the 1980s, the "Jesus Seminar" filled the headlines with this theory. Her college religion professors were saying the same thing.

Ten years later, Lois discovered a group of Jewish and Christian scholars who showed that just the opposite was true. You may have to consider the following statement said by one  parent...'I may have caused the problem, ignored the problem, cooperated  with the problem, and helped to perpetuate the problem.'  I hope I  raise children that feel the way I do. If they know the difference  between right and wrong? Then do the right thing I say!

Final thought:

‘One thing that I learned in life is that the basis for my  disappointments is not what I found in others, but what I expected!  I  have learned to delight myself in the Lord and allow HIM to give me the  desires of my heart.’

He never disappointments [“Delight yourself also in the LORD and He shall give you the desires of your heart.”] Ps. 37:4

Many times, our children can make us proud, sad, or disappointed us by their behavior in society. However, this passage gives us principles and the heart of God on relating to children who disappoint us.

Fathers and Mentors: Should I Respect my Elders?  Why should I or not?

What does it mean to show respect to my elders?  If you are in a relationship where you are being abused, molested or beaten then you must get away to protect yourself.  Please seek help.  Today I talk about elders and a man who was not allowed to go out on the front battle of war when he was old.

Remember the day will come when those we love will be gone.  Will you learn from their mistakes, be a bigger fool or train others with your behavior to follow your lead?

Fathers and Mentors:  Are you sick and don't realize your condition?  Is that in the Bible?  Does it really talk about ordinary people like me?  Yes!  Today I will share with you a talk about locating your mental and emotional health.  Are you living your best life or are you secretly hiding the real you.

Living this type of life is exhausting, painful and causes others to wonder what went wrong.  People there is hope.  Listen and reach out to us if you need to.

Today I pray that you will realize that without God in your life you are without hope spiritually and that through the teachings of Jesus Christ your life will never be the same when and only when you learn how to live by the principles of FAITH in his Word and NOT your church culture or tradition.
