The Fearless Business Podcast

By The Fearless Business Podcast
Business is hard right? There are two types of people. Those who struggle to implement tactics thinking that’s how to grow your business. And those who focus on growing their MINDSET. At Fearless Business we focus on 3 core pillars. First we nail your PRODUCT/OFFER, we teach you how to build a sustainable business doing something you love. We fix your PRICING - this is mostly mindset, learning how to charge 2-3 times your current prices. And finally LEAD FLOW, we show you how to get leads and convert them at your higher price point.

#31 - The Problem With Coaches featuring special guest Dino Tartaglia
Heading for my bus pass (as I write this (not literally, but in years 😉), I've taken my original training as an Electrical & Electronics Engineer, then Chartered Engineer and finally as a Business Development guy, and used this to advise, troubleshoot, build, shut down and otherwise help 1,000+ companies from Globals to kitchen-table operations, in 20+ countries, across 5 continents for 30+ years. Part-mentor, part-coach, part-troubleshooter and ALL business, I've been operational in the online space for a couple of years now running Success Engineers as a JV with my good friend, Simon Hartley, World Class Sports Psych and Coach. We help Expert Business owners clarify & simplify what they are in business to do (which they've often lost sight of), and then help them achieve exactly that. We've developed a different way of looking at business and how it is (and should be) run and our real M.O. is taking insights from the very best in the world and helping others adopt those principles to improve their personal performance, their team's performance (where relevant) and the performance of their business. On this episode we discuss: Concept: The Boat [Components of a Successful Business Vehicle] Concept: Character-led Business. Why mindset is not the real success factor in business... "Traits before States" Philosophy: Better Thinking Builds Better Business Idea: Choosing your client based on Character and Disposition, not just demographics & psychographics, etc Approach: Seduced by Complexity. #28 - New Years Resolutions - Why Wait? START NOW
Your New Years Resolutions WILL FAIL Why? Well, there are three main reasons: REASON #1 Your New Year Resolution is simply TOO BIG. If you want to succeed at your New Years Resolution then START NOW. You need to start planning your resolution now, breaking your big goal down into smaller achievable milestones. Otherwise, you'll start on Jan 1st and the goal you've set for yourself will simply be too big. A resolution is for life NOT JUST for New Year. Better to CHOOSE TO START YOUR RESOLUTION NOW... ...Than to put it off for another Month until you are "forced" into taking action. REASON #2 You are fighting the Reptile part of your brain. When you start in the New Year, you will immediately be triggering Fight, Flight or Freeze because you are trying to do something that you've been putting off until now. You haven't got your brain comfortable and desensitised to the new behaviour patterns. This is the most likely reason you will fail because those first 30 days will feel really bloody uncomfortable. So, start training your reptile NOW. REASON #3 You did it just because it's a New Year Resolution. Basically your "WHY" needs to be much stronger than it's a New Year Resolution. You must have a specific goal in mind to achieve with your new lifestyle change, as well as determined the activities you'll be doing to achieve that goal and FINALLY have a MASSIVE DESIRE to achieve the goal. Otherwise, you'll be apathetic towards your resolution and not complete it. Check out my websites: https://robinwaite.com and all of my free resources here: https://fearless.biz

#025 - Business Owners Freedom Formula with Paul Maskill
My guest today is Paul Maskill - business coach, multiple business owner, entrepreneur and host of the Business Owners Freedom Formula Podcast. Paul works with business owners who are looking to make simple culture changes within their businesses which lead to increased turnover and more freedom. We discussed a lot, most notably the 5 Mistakes Business Owners Make when it comes to Culture: Using "I", "me" and "my" instead of "We" when referring to your business and team. Delegating tasks without responsibility or understanding of what's involved. Not having team meetings (or checking in with yourself regularly if you're a solopreneur) Delegating tasks without there being proper systems or processes in place. Hiring for talent instead of "family fit" - you can have the best performer but they might alienate themselves from the team and disrupt things too much. Paul is an avid fan and implementer of the eMyth by Michael E. Gerber: https://www.amazon.com/Myth-Revisited-Small-Businesses-About/dp/0887307280 And Paul's top tip for budding entrepreneurs is to "Avoid following the status quo, and do things regardless of what other people are telling you to do; the positives normally vastly outweigh the negatives". #22 - The Art of Disruption - Danny Matthews
The master of disruption and branding expert, Danny Matthews, is joining us today for a LIVE recording on the Fearless Business Podcast. Danny founded, Mortgy, an app which disrupted the Mortgage market by making the application process so much more simple. Danny was approached by a series of investors, but felt that the "app had done it's job well" and that there was nothing really for people to invest in. So, instead made it available for the greater good. That process of creation and design led to Danny founding The danny&co. design studio which came about because of a deep desire to create powerful brands with people I believe in. During the interview we discuss the power of branding, business automation, buffer, zapier, scheduling tools and the benefits they bring to businesses. *** BONUS *** Pricing Your Products - Articulating Your Value
Some things I've noticed about Coaches and Consultants:  They are super bright, intelligent people They have an inordinate number of skills and amount knowledge Absolutely love helping their clients Get AMAZING results for their client And yet: They work all hours under the sun For maybe 4-5 days per month Earning less than the average national wage Are completely exhausted If they stop working/selling then their business dies a slow and painful death  So, if any of that resonates then my little bonus episode might help you to understand why this is happening.  Basically you are struggling to articulate your value and undercharging for your services. This is because your clients' perceived value is based on the attachment to your time and NOT the results and outcomes you can deliver for them. This episode of the podcast will change that. I refer to some slides in the episode, as the audio came from a webinar I delivered, if you'd like the slides then let me know - robin@fearless.biz. Also, if this resonates then let's jump on a call - https://fearless.biz/app - and I'll help you to articulate your value and get you earning more money!

#16 - Dan Pfister - The Art of Winning Customers Back
Which marketing strategy consistently delivers the best ROI? Over the last ten years, we’ve spent thousands of hours testing and executing dozens of different strategies. In total they’ve produced over 50,000 customers and have generated significant revenue. But which strategy consistently delivered the highest ROI?   The clear winner, with a 16X ROI, is the customer win-back campaign.   And these campaigns can deliver a superior ROI for almost any type of organization. That’s why businesses ranging from small SaaS companies to billion-dollar enterprises like Dollar Shave Club use them.   Why do they work so well?   It boils down to this …   It’s tough to get a new customer - but it’s relatively easy to win a former customer back. Dan talked about their unique 4-Step Process: 1. Survey 10 previous clients and ask them why they left. Narrow their reasons down to 3-4 key reasons. 2. Now reach out to your past clients and ask them which of the four reasons did they choose to leave. 3. Create a marketing campaign around the one reason which stands out and address the problem with a new solution. 4. BONUS - Build partnerships to re-market to new and existing customers. Dan talked about several books and business resources: The Harvard Business Review, March 2016: https://hbr.org/product/harvard-business-review-march-2016/BR1603-MAG-ENG 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Habits-Highly-Effective-People/dp/0684858398/ Outliers – Malcolm Gladwell: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Outliers-Story-Success-Malcolm-Gladwell/dp/0141036257/ Focus – Daniel Goleman: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Focus-Hidden-Excellence-Daniel-Goleman/dp/1408845881/ Blue Ocean Strategy: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Blue-Ocean-Strategy-Expanded-Uncontested/dp/1625274491/ If you’d like to contact Dan personally you can email him dan@customerwinback.com I would also highly recommend hopping onto https://customerwinback.com/ and completing their ROI Calculator and also watching the Four Minute Case Study Video. #15 - The Charm Offensive Method with Jon Buchan
Jon Buchan is the leader of a 11,000+ strong community dedicated to the "Charm Offensive" approach, a unique cold sales approach which is uniquely powerful and really works. His approach has led to booking meetings with the likes of Redbull, Pepsi, Hewlett Packard, Symantec, and countless other global brands and corporations. Jon now helps ambitious founders and sales teams stand out, book sales opportunities with their ideal clients, and build their influence online. During my interview with Jon we discuss: How marketing is about repelling the wrong sorts of clients from our businesses as much as it is about attracting the right clients into our business – and if you’re going to do that at least let’s make it a fun process. How imperfect action every day beats perfect action hands down. Forget the platitudes and be mindful about how you utilise your time because life is too short. Jon also mentioned Dave Trott’s YouTube Channel where he talks about 3 simple steps in marketing: Attention (Jon recommends using humour) Communication (your needs) Persuade (offer something of value in return) Dave Trott’s YouTube series “The Art of Persuasion” is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYsPAGj6_hU Jon’s FREE GIFT to you all is here: https://charm-offensive.co.uk/free And finally the Charm Offensive Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/charmoffensivegroup/

During the Podcast we discussed a couple of great resources as well: - The Entrepreneurs On Fire Podcast from John Lee Dumas, well worth checking out: https://podcasts.apple.com/ug/podcast/entrepreneurs-on-fire/id564001633  And also Daniel Priestley's amazing bestselling book, Key Person of Influence: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Key-Person-Influence-Revised-Five-Step/dp/178133109X/  And finally, More Committed Client's very own Masterclass video which you can find at  https://morecommittedclients.com by clicking on the big blue button "Masterclass Video".

#10 - Why We Justify Making Incorrect Decisions - Unconscious Bias and Cognitive Dissonance
If you're new don't forget to hit the SUBSCRIBE button! Summary of this episode… 1. Introduction - Black Box Thinking https://www.amazon.co.uk/Black-Box-Thinking-Surprising-Success/dp/1473613779 2. What is Cognitive Dissonance? This produces a feeling of mental discomfort leading to an alteration in one of the attitudes, beliefs or behaviours to reduce the discomfort and restore balance. For example, when people smoke (behaviour) and they know that smoking causes cancer (cognition), they are in a state of cognitive dissonance. 3.  What is unconscious bias? - use the example of the person just hearing “Insurance” just because they are in insurance and missing the point of a video.   https://www.eliinc.com/five-real-world-examples-of…   Standing up and speaking whilst assuming everyone knows what you’re talking about. 4. Not putting prices up because no-one will buy. You know that putting your prices up will make your life better/easier but you don’t do it because of what “might” happen. 5. Selling the wrong product (i.e. giving books away rather than selling them for £5 each) 6. When someone doesn’t pay you, you know you’ll be better of moving on and finding a better client yet you still let the negative experience bother you. 7. In a way comparing ourselves to others creates cognitive dissonance because what the other person is doing goes against our own core beliefs and makes us feel uncomfortable (imposter syndrome?)   8. As a business grows the market shifts and the business needs to change in order to adapt to the new market which create CD.   9. Now think about the client/customer relationship. Quite often...all the time, clients experience CD when they are looking at buying your product or service. They have a certain belief of how you work, the results you deliver, how much it costs, how long it takes etc however by the end of your consultation their core belief needs to change in order to sell the product. #4 - The BEST Way to Grow Your Business
Having worked with hundreds of business owners, it's become clear to me that there is really only ONE WAY to grow a business, so I'll be sharing that with you in this Podcast episode. But before I do that, for those who don't know me, my name is Robin Waite, I am the Founder of the Fearless Business Accelerator and I help coaches, consultants and freelancers to stop selling their souls and start to sell to their clients based on results. If you want to know more then jump onto my website: https://robinwaite.com This allows them to get out of the Sales Cycle of Doom (sell -> deliver -> sell -> deliver -> sell -> deliver etc) and instead, charge more for their products and services and create a full and remarkable solution. By the way, what I've described above is WAY #1 to grow your business...do tons of marketing, sell more of the same product or service and burn yourself out in the process of trying. WAY #2 is to cut costs...nuff said. But... WAY #3 involves raising your prices so you are selling based on results and not based on the number of hours you work. Get that nailed and you can afford to have fewer clients, and still make more money than you were previously.

#3 - Fixed Mindset vs Growth Mindset in Business
Basically, business owners operate from one of two mindsets: Fixed Mindset - It's not my fault, I can't do any more, I don't get numbers Growth Mindset - How can I get better at this? Could I have done more to improve the situation? What can I learn for the next time I do this thing? Which one of the two do you feel you show more of whilst running your business? Which one would you rather be? Robin Waite is the Founder of the 12-Week Fearless Business Accelerator which helps Coaches, Consultants and Freelancers to grow their businesses and fear the things that scare them in business ever so slightly less. We cover 3 core areas of business: Core Pillar #1 - Product Architecture. About 50% of the Fearless Business Accelerator is about nailing down your offer and building out the full 7-Step Product Architecture Model.  Core Pillar #2 - Pricing. If you nail your pricing you will start to price and sell your way out of scarcity and the Sales Cycle of Doom. Knowing your numbers is the key to success in the FBA. #2 - Ed Rich - Funnel Hacking, Marketing Funnels and Polymaths!
In today's Fearless Business Podcast episode we interview Ed Rich MBA, self-proclaimed polymath, marketing expert and funnel hacker. Ed  help coaches who are authors, generate highly qualified leads predictably with distribution of their books and automated webinar events. He does this by building unique customer journeys that are optimised to generate higher customer lifetime value for you. Most coaches author their book thinking that it will generate leads for them. But once they publish it, the books end up waiting for the light of the day in their garage. Your book is just a vehicle to carry your message from your garage to the hands of your ideal coaching client. A vehicle needs an infrastructure to go from this point to the reader’s hands. I build this infrastructure, let’s call it a customer journey or marketing funnel, that get this book in the hand of people who are most likely to be your best clients ever. If you are a coach would like to get OVERBOOKED with coaching appointments, Ed invites you to have an "Simplify My Marketing Strategy Session" where we'll go through a diagnosis of your core three pillars and build strategy for the same: - Absolute clarity about your marketing - Finding and keeping your tribe - Creating customer journeys that convert Visit Ed's Website: https://www.booksmind.com/  Ed also mentioned his Reading List during the interview, here it is:  the book list
