Personal Finance :The Biggest Mistake of My life.

Personal Finance :The Biggest Mistake of My life.

The purchase of your home is probably the largest purchase that you will ever make.It is important that you are not pressurised by estate agents to sign that OTP immediately after viewing the property. You need to take your time over your investment decision and consider all of your options.

It is important not to forget that there are significant costs that you will incur when buying property. These costs have to be taken into account ad they will affect the return on your investment. A property with high levies is often not attractive to potential buyers and sometimes the rental income might not cover the bond and monthly costs which will mean money out of your pocket.

Life:Funeral Protocol

Life:Funeral Protocol

Eulogies are meant to remember the person who died in a positive light, and offer an opportunity to speak about who the deceased was and the ways in which he or she made a difference in the lives of family, friends, and his or her community.

Delivering a eulogy is a deeply emotional experience, and though it can be a positive experience for some, it can be too difficult for others. This is a personal send off that I believe should be delivered by those who knew the deceased and spent time with him/her unlike people that hardly knew the person.

Society tends to judge when a spouse or child speaks at a funeral, this is taboo in African culture. I think we need to give an opportunity to the immediate family members that would like to pay tribute to do so without judging them.

Ad-Break :Challenge NOT Accepted.

Ad-Break :Challenge NOT Accepted.

Gender based violence and woman on woman hate is a reality we can't run away from.

I think most women took the #CHALLENGEAccepted and turned it into their own, pretending to support other women.

How about we start a new challenge or continue with the #MeToo movement — this time let's give a voice to all those women who have been bullied, denigrated, dismissed and humiliated by other women, particularly women in a high positions especially in corporate.

GBV is not only when men abuse women. We need to lift each other up with actions and stop hiding behind social media challenges. ✌️

Ad-Break: Are Beauty Pageants Empowering all Women to take up space?

Ad-Break: Are Beauty Pageants Empowering all Women to take up space?

As empowering as beauty pageants claim to be, in a way, they reward women for cultivating the most fleeting aspect of their humanity—physical beauty—and for preserving the correct kind of femininity. They praise women for not taking up too much space.

Some pageants have questionable rules that base a woman’s worth on her ability to model “proper femininity.”

I went through a list of rules for a famous beauty pageant in SA and I was shocked to find out thst candidates must never have been married or pregnant. From a feminist perspective, it looks like a desperate attempt to maintain the illusion that only virgins or “pure” women are worthy of a crown.
