2020 07 26 - God Lives In Us
Today's sermon is based on 1 John 4:1-12. Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one   another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us,   and his love is perfected in us.  -- 1 John 4:11-12

2020 07 19 Weeds
Today's sermon is based on Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43.   The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall   gather out of his kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and them that do   iniquity, and shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be the   weeping and the gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of   their Father. He that hath ears, let him hear.  -- Matthew 13:41-43

2020 07 12 Resurrection of the Body
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.  -- Romans 8:1 NRSV

2020 03 08 - Abraham Believed God
Today's scripture reference is Romans 4:1-5, 13-17.  What do you have faith in?  The important thing about faith and believing God is the relationship with Him!  There is no relationship with 'the law'.  If we are in a relationship with God, we know the right thing to do.

2020 03 15 - Come to the Well
Based on  John 4:5-42 -- God gives us all living water, if only we will take it.  Like Jesus had to go through Samaria, we need to go through our own "Samaria" - a place where we don't want to be; a place where we're not wanted; a place where we don't like them and they don't like us.

2020-03-01 The Devil Made Me Do It
Today's scripture reference is Matthew 4:1-11.  The devil doesn't want us to trust God and often leads us out into the wilderness.  But, to be fully human, we must depend on God.  We are not complete until we fill the emptiness inside us with dependence on Him.  No matter what the devil tries to make us do, the good news is that if you trust God, you will get a new life in God's Kingdom!

2020-02-26 - Ash Wednesday
Did you miss the Ash Wednesday service?  Pastor Jim talked about finding our way back.  Being lost isn't about where you're going, its about where you are.  God wants us to find our way home - back to him.  Lent is an opportunity for us to come to our senses and return.

2020 02 23-Eyewitnesses
Today's scripture is 2 Peter 1:16-21.  As we finish up the season of epiphany (the manifestation) we need to look around -- pay attention -- and look for the other epiphanys, the other places we see Jesus, and then tell other people about it!

2020 02 16 Eyes Fixed on All Your Commandments
Today's sermon is based on Psalm 119:1-8.  Our heart is our will - it's the seed of all we do.  When we put our heart into something, we CAN do it! Everything you need is already given to you -- all you need to do is trust God.

2020 02 09 A Watered Garden
Today's scripture is from Isaiah 58:1-14.  God wants us to be a watered garden - bearing much fruit.  Just like in gardening, you have to get rid of the old undergrowth in your life - get rid of the sin - and prepare the soil. Dig it up, clean it out.  For example, if you're a blame-thrower - just quit it! If you're not one who throws blame, just do something for somebody else -- every day!  God's not concerned with ritual, he's concerned about your concern for each other.

2020 01 26 It Only Takes a Spark
Today's scripture comes from James 3:1-12 & Genesis 1:3-5.  Just like a spark can cause a forest fire, so can the words from our tongue cause pain and hurt.  Be careful how you speak, not only to others, but to yourself as well.

2020 01 19 Purpose
Isaiah 49:1-7 is known as the servant song.  Jesus came to serve, and he served to the point of giving his life for you.  He certainly had a purpose.  Listen to today's message, see if you can determine what your purpose is in this world.  You definitely have one!

2020 01 12 Faith Is a Verb
Yes, FAITH is a verb.  Have you put yours into action?  We are called to help others, just like the good Samaritan.  Do you put your faith into action by helping others?  Something worth considering.  Pastor Jim was "in jail" this week sharing the good news and hope and love to others.  In his absence, we were blessed to hear what Dick Baldwin had to say about serving others.

Habits to Live By
It's pretty hard not to worry about things. In the Bible, Paul outlines several habits that, should we make them habits, we can experience the joy and peace that passes all understanding.

Who’s Following Who?
Are we following Jesus, or is He following us? As we enter into a new year and go about our agendas, goals, and what we think is important, take a moment to consider who is doing the following. Make Jesus bigger to you this year than He may have been to you last year. Follow Him.

Crowds

Tune-In to God
Pastor Jim highlights the wonders of the Jet Rocket-Crystal Radio; like its ability to pull power from nothing but the air around it! Similarly, we, too, can draw our power from the unseen. Tuning-in to God is the goal of a life of faith. When we tune-in to God, we may enjoy that peace and harmony that God intended. Hebrews 11:1 "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Got Love?
How do we demonstrate the type of love that Jesus was talking to his disciples about? How do we lay our lives down for those around us? Pastor Jim asks the tough questions, and reminds us that we are chosen to be kind and show love to those around us because of our relationship with Jesus.
