I became a successful Feng Shui Expert, Life Coach, and teacher for the International Feng Shui School. The origin of my business started months before the $200 photography class. You see, the seed of my business was planted in darkness when I miscarried my first pregnancy. In the wake of my grief, I was desperate for distraction, desperate for something to be fun again and because I’d always loved taking pictures, I did a Google search for “affordable photography class”. “I've long been an appreciator of learning (i.e. a "bookworm"). :) My initial education was of the more traditional variety with an undergraduate degree (English) from the University of Virginia and master's degree (Education) from Marymount University. My current educational pursuit is as a Doctoral student in the Integral and Transpersonal Psychology PhD program at the California Institute of Integral Studies. It delights me that I can bring my vast hypnotherapy knowledge to the PhD program, and that what I learn throughout my studies/research will benefit my clients as well.
Because I also love hypnotherapy training and want to provide the highest service to my clients, I have trained extensively with many leaders in the field of hypnosis (see “Education and Training” below), including my first teacher, Dr. Brian Weiss. It brings me great joy to be able to use what I've learned to help others move beautifully through their own spiritual journeys.
In addition to education, hypnosis, and writing, I greatly enjoying spending time in nature, as well as practicing meditation. I am a big believer in the life changing benefits of meditation (as it relates to hypnosis and as an independent practice) and have been practicing since 2008. In an effort to learn (and experience) more, I participated in the 7-week Yarne Retreat at Gampo Abbey in early 2014 and have learned a great deal from Ani Pema Chödrön.
