Continuing the conversation from the end of last weeks episode Randy and Rich focus on the offensive linemen in the draft and what some scenarios look like. The headline of the day is Josh Reynolds signing with Denver. At up to $14 million for a 2-year contract it’s safe to say that’s more than Detroit would be willing to pay. We’ll get to WR in the draft in the coming episodes.

What a ride. Randy and Rich discuss all the moves and happenings from the past week. The Lions brought in some new cornerbacks only to see one current cornerback be released due to a still developing legal investigation. Veteran additions DT D.J. Reader and OG Kevin Zeitler were two players atop many fans list of free agent targets that fill a few of the last needs before the draft. The new league year begins and with it comes the first wave of free agent signings. This week Tom and Rich get together to review what we learned during the legal tampering period that preceded the official start of the 2024 league year.

This week Randy and Rich discuss how we’re more excited with the team at hand compared to years passed when the offseason was the season of hope and the new group of players was the most intriguing part of the year. At the same time the Combine is already here and we feel behind in our usual draft prep. It does feel like free agency is upon us sooner so that is a good thing. Going off early mocks and the Senior Bowl a few names are popping up but with less draft capital then in past years maneuvering around the draft will be a challenge for Brad Holmes. Lions Win!!! Lions Win!!! It’s so exciting I don’t even know what to call the second round of the playoffs. All we know is if they win they keep going. Tampa Bay comes to a historically loud Ford Field this week. The Lions beat the Buccaneers 20-6 in Tampa week 6 so hopefully they’ll keep up their winning ways.

It’s almost here and we’ll finally know who the new Lions will be. This week Randy and Rich keep exploring the names in the draft and the rounds the Lions may find them in. Maybe it’s because the Lions are a better team than we’ve had to talk about in years, but it’s been tougher than most to guess the game plan being hatched by Brad Holmes and his staff. No less fun but a bit more contentious and sometimes the discussions have gotten more heated due to differing viewpoints. QB or not to QB, or just when to QB. And really you could insert just about any position into that last sentence. We have one more Pod before the Draft begins and it seems a safe bet there will be more than just the draft on our minds.

Randy and Rich are back and getting ready for free agency. The 2023 combine is over and it’s feeling like there are now more questions about the first round picks than we had last week. We’ll be crossing our fingers for trading out of the 6th over all pick, while waiting over a month for news on Jalen Carters legal issues. News of in house free agent signings are trickling in and we hope there are a few more to talk about next week, as we continue to hash out the possibilities in this years draft.
