S.1 Ep. 6: The WHOLE Issue feat. Samantha Washington
Are you dealing with the whole issue or just part of the issue? Does it seem like you’re just self medicating your wombs with the money that you spend? Have you discovered WHY you really spend the way that you do? That’s what happened to Samantha Washington, owner of Mended Fitness, when she had her defining moment by realizing that she was too prideful to ask for help. She soon discovered that the only way she was going to experience the freedom that desired, was to do the inner work herself through the help of others. By doing the work, Samantha had a revelation that her debt was related to SOMETHING. She says “We think it’s a curtain, but the TRUTH is that the debt is just revealing more TRUTH about you.” The WHOLE Issue Take-aways: Trauma is like a mountain that you can not climb by yourself-Samantha Washington "I realized that I was using money to self-medicate the pain that I was in."-Samantha Washington When I begin to do the inner work myself, I learned that things didn’t look important anymore.-Samantha Washington “I broke FREE when I decided to stop caring about man.”-Samantha Washington “It wasn’t someone else’s place to tell me I was worth it, it was my place to know I was worth it.”-Samantha Washington "I replaced my spending with things that I enjoyed and stopped chasing rejection."-Samantha Washington “I could never allow myself to be myself because I was too busy trying to be something for somebody else.”-Samantha Washington “When you don’t feel like you’re free, you don’t feel like you have power.”-Samantha Washington “You are responsible for your progress.”-Samantha Washington “If you don’t deal with the stuff back there, it will manifest itself in your adulthood.”-Ramesha Nicole What steps can someone take to walk in purpose and not let trauma define you: Figure out the root of the trauma Figure out how to pull up the root Give yourself grace to get to where you want to be without trying to perfect the process Seek therapy or a safe space “Sometimes NO means NO. S1. Ep. 3. Cycles: The Change Starts w/ You feat. Reginald Wilson
Have you ever gotten to a place where you’re tired of starting and stopping, starting and stopping, only to find yourself on this continuous rat wheel? That’s exactly what happened for Reginald Wilson when he found his car repossessed, homeless and on this downward spiral. After having a moment when he finally surrendered to God, he realized that once he got out of the way and acknowledged that where he was at that moment was due to personal choices, he soon discovered that the cycles would end. Cycles: The Change Starts With You Biggest Take-Aways Why people continue to allow themselves to remain in cycles: Fear-We’re afraid to move forward, to get out of control and allow the Lord to order our steps. Fear of letting those around you go. Comfort-We get into cycles because it’s easy. We have to do things outside of the box. Communication-You have to surround yourself with open-minded people to have open dialogue with open minded people. “If God is telling you to move forward, no matter what it is, you have to listen to that voice and move.”-Reginald Wilson “In order to move forward and break the cycle, you have to listen.”-Reginald Wilson “You have to have obedience in order to move forward.”-Reginald Wilson “He doesn’t want your sacrifice, he wants your obedience.”-Ramesha Nicole “There is no such thing as half obeying God.”-Reginald Wilson “You can’t be fearful in one hand and faithful in the other hand. Fear and faith can’t go together.”-Reginald Wilson “When you run from God and your purpose, he’ll start removing things and people to get your attention.”-Reginald Wilson “God will strip you down to get your full attention.”-Reginald Wilson “Everything that you’ve learned from that experience, is preparing you for your next season.”-Reginald Wilson “It is ok to go to therapy. It’s not a sign of weakness.”-Reginald Wilson What you can begin to do to break cycles: Take a deep look at yourself (Self-Accountability): It starts with you. You have to hold yourself accountable. Write out your goals: Have something that you can look back to. Seek outside help: Have someone you can communicate with. “You have to step outside of yourself to break free.”-Reginald Wilson “To break free from any cycle, the hardest thing to do is to take the first step.”-Reginald Wilson “Get out of your own way and stop blocking your own blessings.”-Reginald Wilson Truth for Freedom Questions: What does it mean to really get real and experience freedom? Reginald: Tune out outside factors by focusing on yourself. Understand your race and understanding where you are and where you’re going. My name is Reggie and the truth about debt is that it doesn't control you. For more information on A Great Cause Non-Profit or to connect with Reginald, you can find him on Instagram at @reg_esq. Mini Lesson-Phase 3: Penetrating Growth
In this Mini Lesson, Ramesha Nicole dives deeper into Penetrating Growth, which is Phase 3 of 4 of her Internal Transformation method, and how it relates to debt freedom. Here she guides the episode through getting listeners to understand that growth and comfortability don't go together. She uses the analogy of the chrysalis stage that a butterfly goes through to break this phase down.  It is during this stage, the caterpillar's old body dies and a new body forms inside a protective shell known as a chrysalis. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV it says "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." In order or you to experience freedom, you have to die to old habits, mindsets, attitudes and behaviors. When you’re on your journey to freedom, you’re just going to have to let some things (and/or some people) go. She reminds listeners that in order to get to debt freedom, they must get comfortable being uncomfortable.
