51: There's Always Something Better Coming with Jackie VanderLinden

51: There's Always Something Better Coming with Jackie VanderLinden

Jackie VanderLinden is a Holistic Coach, Yoga Teacher and Speaker who has nearly 20 years in the health and wellness industry. Jackie is known to be full of heart and incredibly passionate about supporting women in getting more out of their lives with less work. She truly believes that by simplifying a few key areas, all women can be both healthy and happy;  living big, beautiful lives with more ease.

You’re going to want to hear this one as we share about;

The joys of country living and farm life. (We live within half an hour of each other.)

We’re all still figuring out what we want to be when we grow up but I never want to stop growing. Looking back we thought our 18 year old self knew so much and then our 30 year old self knew so much and now we just want to become the best version of myself.

“If you want to make God laugh, tell him you’ve got plans.”

Life isn’t going to always be as planned so have to be fluid and focus on living for today.

At this time in our world we need to give ourselves grace and go with the flow as much as we possibly can. It can change day to day what grace looks like for you right now. Trust your instincts and intuition for what you need.

Declutter your social feeds. We are on them so much more these days and it’s influencing us more than we may even realize or want to admit.

Jackie shares about being at a job she hated that brought her to tears often, moving to the country and feeling very heavy. She got into the art of tidying up and things looked really good but she felt empty and had a lot of emotions coming to the surface.

Grief is never done. Her grief over her sisters suicide when she was young came forward.

Jackie realized you don’t graduate from mental health. She was slipping back into depression and was falling apart inside. This was a dark time that took her off guard and was a slow creeping in of the mental health darkness. It was hard because no one knew about it.

“There’s always something better coming.”

We can choose to make their life count for something through the expression of our own.

“Love your dark parts too”

We have to look for the good wherever we can.

We can have both light and the darkness at the same time.

“If we embrace our darkness we can experience joy while we travel through the darkness.”

“Sit in the darkness, knowing that we are a being of light the whole experience shifts.”

50: Her Unraveling - The Divinity Within Us Sneak Peek Chapter Excerpt and Guidance from the Guides

50: Her Unraveling - The Divinity Within Us Sneak Peek Chapter Excerpt and Guidance from the Guides

Join the Her Unraveling Launch Party September 6-8th on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/985276928586810 This week Megan shares with us a sneak peek excerpt of her chapter “The Divinity Within Us” from Her Unraveling: A Guide to Understanding the Power of Your Emotions and How to Align with Your Intuition.

Megan does a card reading to connect to Divine guidance. For full reading listen to this episode.

“Benzai Ten-Beauty. See it’s power everywhere. You are more than enough.” From The Goddess Power Oracle by Colette Baron Reid.

“Athena-Knowledge. Gain greater clarity at this time. Everything is aligned with Divine will. Have courage my love your most precious dreams are within reach.” From The Goddess Power Oracle by Colette Baron Reid.

All of us are a beautiful combination of beauty and knowledge.

“Mira Bai-The Saint of true freedom. Love is what sets me free. I am married to my soul. Doing what’s right for you and no one else. You have this one brief life and every second of it matters. Be true to who you really are. Love isn’t ethical. Love isn’t bound by social acceptability. Love asks us to stay loyal to our own soul. Bravely defy expectations in order to be true to ourselves. Ask yourself what holds me back from expressing my truth?” From The Divine Feminine Oracle by Meggan Watterson.

Activating the Third Eye-I am willing to see beyond my beliefs, ideas and conclusions. From The Healing Mantra Deck by Matt Kahn.

The excerpt Megan shares is a beautiful explanation of what being spiritual means to Megan and is a great resource for each of us.

You are Divine. Holy Divinity Intertwined. You’re here at this time for a reason. Your voice needs to be heard. We are all love and we are all interconnected.

If we share love we receive love.

49: Authentic AF with Kristin Quattlebaum

49: Authentic AF with Kristin Quattlebaum

Kristin is a former 15 year corporate hustler turned Intuitive Life Coach.  She spent years hustling for happiness through seeking fulfillment outside of herself.  It wasn't until Kristin turned within that she rediscovered her power and was able to initiate her life purpose path.  Kristin is passionate about helping women orient back to the magic within themselves.  She can help you examine and clear limiting beliefs that hold you back from your greatness and attune to your intuitive wisdom so that you can lead your life in truth

We chat about;

The importance of being inspired by ourselves and all that we have grown through and our tenacious spirit.

Unapologetic truth is living a soul filled life. “Seeing yourself for who you are and letting go of all those conditioned layers, all the things you’ve picked up that don’t belong to you and really allowing yourself to be who you are, without apology.”

Kristin shares about going all in on work and climbing the corporate ladder and how that was her life and consumed her. She talks about the anxiety she experienced as a result of this. Everything was being suppressed. The anxiety turned into irrational fears and inability to relax no matter how peaceful the environment.

The doc gave her medication but encouraged her to go to therapy. Kristin gives a great analogy to describe this.

Expressing emotions is not weakness even though many have learned to believe it is. We have become so good at suppressing that there’s a lot pent up inside us.

“I have everything within me, it was just a matter of me being willing to go there.”

Call out your anxiety, “I feel anxiety in my heart right now.” Acknowledge it, feel it, and intentionally not suppress it.

Stand up for your strengths instead of looking to fix all your weaknesses from the book Strength Finders.

What it means to be a multipotentialite.

Seeking support and the necessity of that. It’s essential to invest in yourself until the point where you have everything you need.

Kristin talks about listening to and following your intuition and the beautiful things that follow as a result.

Utilizing meditation to find peace and go deep within.

“I belong to me.” Unravelling more and more about who I am and living as her. This is my path and it doesn’t matter what anyone else feels about that. Outside validation is not necessary.

“Put down your mask and show us who you are.”

Your reaction to me is a reflection of you, my response to you is an awareness of me.

48: What is Higher Power and How Do I Trust it and Believe in it?

48: What is Higher Power and How Do I Trust it and Believe in it?

As a continuation to episode 44, Megan shares about how to build a relationship with your very own Higher Power.

Our Higher Power provides everything we need if we stay close to it and perform our souls calling well.

We are meant to be happy.

Megan gives a couple of analogies that have supported her with this.

There is clearly a power in this Earth that is more powerful than us.

Sometimes it takes work to let go of what we believe the outcome should be for our best good and trusting that the outcome will be for the highest good of the most people involved.

Megan shares how to differentiate guidance received during two way prayer as to whether it comes from self (ego) or Higher Power guidance.

If you struggle to be close to your Higher Power think of it as your best friend. Talk to it and share with it. Have a relationship with your Higher Power and don’t be afraid to get mad at it and let it know. Higher power will still love you.

Megan shares the third step prayer with us to support us when facing problems.

Lord, I offer myself to thee, to build with me and to do with me as thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help if Thy power, Thy love and Thy way of life.

Megan shares with us how to figure out the spiritual action steps to take when facing a problem and ways to actually take the action steps.

Good things come when we open ourselves up to support others and to receive.

Whatever you believe to be true, is!

47: Allow Yourself to Feel Your Grief with Shannon Miller

47: Allow Yourself to Feel Your Grief with Shannon Miller

Shannon Miller is an Inspirational Speaker, Grief Guide and Coach, a best selling Author and the founder of Conversations with Shannon. Shannon openly shares her stories of grief and trauma to give people hope, validation and insight into their grief. As a Grief Guide Shannon walks beside her clients as they navigate their own pain and helps guide them out of their darkness. Shannon believes that having deep, meaningful Conversations allows us all to feel heard, acknowledged and supported.
I can’t wait for you to hear this one as we have conversations about;
When we can see our children as some of our greatest teachers and look at them and take a little credit that we were a part of them being the beautiful human beings they have become.
What it means to live a soul full life can change from day to day so check in with yourself, live your truth but not in a way that everyone else has to live your truth as well. Each person gets to live their truth.
We’re human, we have good days, we have bad days, we’re in a global pandemic and if that’s spinning you out of control find the one thing you can control and ground yourself with. Shannon offers some great pointers.
Shannon shares with us how she is a single Mom of three amazing children and in April of 2013 her middle child Kaiti went to a house party with her childhood friends and was murdered. Shannon shares how she processed through this horrific loss and offers hope to anyone who is grieving.
The 5 stages of grief - “What is this crap?” “I’m not doing it right” but it was grieving and Shannon made it her mission to share the truth about grief. As a society we are taught wrong grief is just another way that we are expressing love.
“My grief is always with me, that doesn’t mean I’m not also living my life. There is a way to honour your grief and live a happy life.”
“I slowly started to fall in love with my grief when I realized it was my love.”
IF you’re supporting someone who is in grief, don’t take anything they say or do personally, it’s not you, you aren’t doing anything wrong the person is just on a roller coaster or emotion.
“Be kind to yourself”

46: Self-Acceptance is Your Superpower, We are Going to Mess up so Love Yourself Anyway

42: Radical Responsibility Equals Freedom with Marsha Vanwynsberghe

42: Radical Responsibility Equals Freedom with Marsha Vanwynsberghe

Marsha is the 6-time Bestselling Author of “When She Stopped Asking Why”.  She shares her lessons as a parent who dealt with teen substance abuse far past the level of normal experimentation.

Through her programs, coaching, podcast and live events for women, Marsha teaches the power of Radical Responsibility and Owning Your Choices in your own life.  She empowers women how to own their stories and build platform businesses to impact, serve and support others

I can’t wait for you to hear this episode as we discuss;

If you don’t trust yourself, show up anyways, now is the time.

We have to recognize and honour that the energy is real and we can be taken down by going to the grocery store, no matter how strong we are. Try to see this experience as a gift of what is working for me and what isn’t. Give time to yourself first each day. Do what you need and honour yourself.

We’re all trying to navigate something that has no play book.  We’ve never been here before so that means there’s no right or wrong. What do I need today? Give ourselves permission to give ourselves some space. My inconveniences are nothing compared to what some people are going through.

Marsha shares with us about being pregnant at 32 and having a strange feeling that it wasn’t going to happen. She shares about “the look” the ultrasound tech gives when something is wrong and being told it was suspected cancer and her journey during the wait period to find out whether it was cancer or not and the two years of testing that followed. Then she discusses the crystal clear voice telling her “You need a hysterectomy” after numerous procedures and surgeries over a 6 year period at 37 years old. She persisted with what she knew her soul needed. She knew what she knew. Marsha’s experience gives us the reminder to trust that inner voice. She has had an ongoing journey and had new growth after the hysterectomy.

“I’ve learned to trust my voice, trust my intuition, trust what I’m hearing. When I hear it, I believe it’s like my future self or a version of myself saying don’t stop, follow me.”

When we stop carrying things that aren’t ours to carry we create space. When we make space we allow for light and opportunities and people to come in which allows us to move forward.

The things we do to avoid vulnerability cause us more pain then the vulnerability ever would. Vulnerability is sharing our pain, our emotions, our stories, it’s not sharing everyone else around you.

37: We Have the Power to Change Our Cells with Sue Ruhe

37: We Have the Power to Change Our Cells with Sue Ruhe

Sue Ruhe - B.A., R.M.T., is an Intuitive Myofascial Release Therapist, who taps into the physical and emotional traumas that lie deep within our cells. She has been evolving her practice for over 11 years, helping her clients shift restricted areas found within the fascial matrix, to create more fluidity and alignment within the body. In doing so, she has been able to help her clients overcome the anxiety they unknowingly hang onto, so that they can move beyond it.

Sue lives in London Ontario Canada, with her partner Jared, and their angel daughter Avalina. She was recently published in a book called ‘The Great Canadian Woman - She is Strong and Free’, and is the host of the Love Your Cells Podcast. Ultimately, her mission is to help guide the next generation of humans with understanding and loving their bodies.

Today we chat with one of the coolest humans I know, we were co-authors in The Great Canadian Woman-She is Strong and Free and that was the beginning of a beautiful soul to soul connection.

We shared about;

1) How important it is to learn about our bodies at a young age. Being a competitive dancer forced her to stretch and strengthen and created those habits young which attribute to not feeling pain now.

2) Getting in tune with your soul’s desire and your intention and living life intentionally. Not doing things out of obligation but doing things because you want to and it makes you feel good and not just settling.

3) The importance of taking time to process and allow the magnitude of CoVid19 to sink in and allowing yourself to feel whatever comes up for you.  “This will pass, will we grow from this and there will be a huge upswing in the economy after it is deemed under control.” Trying not to create any more stress around it. What we put our energy in and what we focus on is what we attract.

4) Sue shares with us the ways in which she was hard on her body when she was young and how being diagnosed with stage one cancer was a reason to take care of her cells and use the power within her to change them and the ways in which she treated her body

5) Sue explains what myofascial release therapy is and what the fascia is and how it works in an easy to understand way.

36: Giving it Room to Grow with Emily Gough

This week we are chatting with Emily Gough, a Canadian woman, who is a podcasting and business coach, speaker and host of the Room to Grow Podcast. A space for open, honest and real discussions about tough lessons learned in life and entrepreneurship when thrown into the unexpected. The podcast is regularly featured in the top 200 worldwide in its’ category. After 11 years working in the corporate world, Emily quit her job to pursue her dream career helping entrepreneurs launch their podcasts and leverage their personal stories to maximize their impact in the world. Her signature approach is all about building powerful, genuine connections and relationships with integrity at the forefront. Emily is often mistaken as an extrovert, and always searching for more ways to be outdoors.
In this episode we chat about:
1) Some soul questions so you can get to know Emily, things she enjoys and things that are important to her. Emily is going lives on Instagram and Facebook every morning at 8am EST to offer connection.
2) Being an only child and a game she taught one of her best friends when she was young.

4) She shares about her discovering her fiancée had been having an on again off again affair throughout the course of their nine year relationship. 35: From Chaos to Harmony with Michele Drake

35: From Chaos to Harmony with Michele Drake

In this episode I am speaking with Michele Drake, a fellow Canadian, who has 30 years experience in health and fitness, as well as being a free-lance journalist. She recently embarked on a journey with a publishing company. She believes that helping people in their darkness is important at this time, and that banding together as a society is going to move us forward.

In this episode we chat about:

1) Some soul questions so you can get to know Michele, things she enjoys and things that are important to her.

2) Having children who have faced their own difficulties and the deep love and inspiration they provide. Michele's children are so strong and admirable.

3) Lack of belief in positive outcomes or limiting beliefs that have been passed down through generations and how those can still affect us years later. The work that is required beyond "just be positive". How you are here to break the struggles from past ancestors. In this case, you don't have to choose between love and abundance.

4) Dark times are going to come up and they don't just go away. "Things come in threes" and I would often notice it would be like 6, 9. How many more things. Then, you think that you're home free. Someone says you went through that with so much grace. "What other choice did I have?"

5) Michele shares about her experiencing over an 8 month period moving away from her marriage during a turbulent time, having her Mom passing away suddenly, caring for her Gran who her mother had cared for, an uncle passing away and then her Gran passing. She learned how to get through the tornadoes happening all around you. She shares some of the things she leaned into during those dark nights of the soul.

“In order to be of service to others they have to first take care of themselves. A lot of people see that as selfish, it’s actually selfless”

Michele has also offered to share information about the supplements with anyone who is interested so send her a private message for details.

33: 12 things I’ve Learned Being 10 Years Sober

33: 12 things I’ve Learned Being 10 Years Sober

12 things I’ve learned in 10 years of sobriety

1. Honesty without compassion is brutality. Also if someone hasn’t asked for your opinion it isn’t needed to be given and thinking it is, is rather self centred.
2. Life is always changing and some things are extremely difficult to go through but with God and a strong support system, it is possible to be carried through some very brutal adversity’s and not only remain sober but also remain free.
4. Not everyone is on the same path as you-allow them to be who they are without your need to tell them otherwise.
5. It is a miracle to be sober whether that’s for 10 minutes or 10 years. Every second counts in life and not everyone gets to experience the gift of sobriety so cherish it, do the work to maintain it and live your best fricken life.
6. We are not meant to be perfect people so let go of those ridiculous expectations of yourself and accept that you are going to screw up sometimes in big ways even when living a spiritual life. Use the tools at your disposal to clear up the messes as they arise.
7. Being an alcoholic/addict is not an excuse for bad behaviour.
8. The solution can not be transmitted sexually and only a spiritual solution worked for an alcoholic addict of my type.
9. Expecting anything from anyone leads only to resentment which has the power to kill.
10. When someone tells you who they are believe them.
11. If God wanted you to know what people were thinking He would have given you the ability to read minds.
12. You are not that important. Not everyone is talking about or thinking about you all the time.
13. God is good all the time and all the time God is good.
14. Wanting anything to go YOUR way will set you up for disappointment. Your Higher power knows and sees the big picture and the long game so when things don’t work out trust that it God has this or something better.

20: Let’s Talk About the Shadow Side

20: Let’s Talk About the Shadow Side

This weeks episode is jam packed while we talk about the shadow side. I start off this week sharing two cards I pulled for you from the Keepers of the Light Oracle Cards.

When we can learn to live in both our light and our dark in combination we live a glorious life.

For me my shadow comes up because of self centred fear-the fear I will lose what I have or the fear I won’t get what I want. It either comes up because of either of those fears or because something has shone light on something from the past that was painful for me.

The shadow is good when incorporated with the light as a response and not a reaction.

We all have spirituality flowing through us.

I have the ability to help others and so do you.

I share with you a poem I wrote to support you with your shadow side.

Surrendering to the shadow and accepting that this is a divine piece of your integral being.

It’s all good.

We get to decide what we want to be and get to be, just be.

We get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of life that we lose sight of having to take care of ourselves.

We talk about the essential things that Megan includes in her weeks and days to be at her highest level of vibration and things you can assess in your life.

What does self-car look like for you? What do you need in your day to feel good and have the energy you need to be there for the people that you live? To be there for yourself? If you don’t fill your own cup and are only giving from the scraps you’re no good to anyone else. You won’t be able to sustain it for the long haul.

Life is meant to be enjoyed not endured.

You’re important, you matter!

Megan shares about what a healing session is all about as well.

You deserve to feel good. You deserve a life that fuels your soul.

The. Near the end, the importance of enjoying what you are doing is covered.

10: Beginner’s Meetings:-Session 4: Steps 10, 11 and 12

In this weeks episode Megan shares session 4 of the 4 part series of the Beginner’s Meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous from the book Back to Basics by Wally P.

This week we cover steps 10, 11 and 12.

10-Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

11-Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge ofHis will for us and the power to carry that out.

12-Having has a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to Alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

There is a moment of quiet meditation during the eleventh step portion of this episode. It’s not dead air it’s a time to pause and sit in contemplation with your Higher Power. Please do not do this while driving or operating heavy machinery though.

By the end of this episode you will have completed the steps. Congratulations! It will then be time to go out and share this life saving way with others.

Remember these steps can be applied to any substance or problem just substitute the words alcohol and alcoholism for what you are facing. Also, at the time when the book was written it was done so by men so for the excerpts from the book Alcoholics Anonymous substitute the male nouns and pronouns for female as needed.

Hope this series has helped you to break free!

Remember we recover by the steps we take not just talked about or in this case listened to. The steps must be taken with someone who understands what you are aiming to do.

Getting sober is a life and death errand. You deserve an epic life, you just need to do the work to feel and believe that.

6: How to Return to Love when Tragedies Happen and Work Through Overpowering Emotions

6: How to Return to Love when Tragedies Happen and Work Through Overpowering Emotions

In this episode Megan discusses;

-The answer to any situation is love.

-How do we return to love when we’re filled of fear, or sad or filled with overpowering emotions?

-How Being sad and frustrated or angry doesn’t help anyone.

-How to send love to those situations or people.

-A spiritual tool to bring love back in to a situation-Positive or Affirmative prayer.

-How Heightened emotions are based in our perception of the situation and not always the reality of what’s going on.

-What we focus on we attract into our lives and if we focus on the positive then that’s what we see and call to us.

-The fact that we have to move to acceptance.

-To listen to the still small voice within you.

Also a moment of silence is taken for those lost to mass shootings

5: The Varying Degrees of Alcoholism/Addiction and why they matter!

5: The Varying Degrees of Alcoholism/Addiction and why they matter!

In today’s episode Megan shares some common misconceptions people say when they don’t understand alcoholism and addiction having not experienced it themselves.

Megan shares the differences between the Moderate Drinker or User, the Hard Drinker or User and the Real Alcoholic and Addict.

In addition Megan shares the variations from Type one to Type four of the progressive nature of Alcoholism/Addiction.

“If you’re a real alcoholic/addict of the hopeless variety you won’t be able to stop on your own power.”

The Varying Degrees of Alcoholism/Addiction makes some distinctions that are necessary when sharing our experience, as this is a fatal malady. Far too many die of overdose or alcoholic death while using or by suicide when sober because they have not been shown the freedom which comes from taking a few simple steps.

Please substitute alcohol/alcoholic for your substance that brought you to your knees and addiction as needed. Also substitute male and female pronouns accordingly. Megan substitutes some while reading. All readings are taken out of the book Alcoholics Anonymous.

We discuss faith and trust with a metaphorical example.

At one point we take a deep breath together and just be.
