#TBR222 - The happiest bus driver in London
It was an absolute honour to have Patrick join us and share his life story. He has been called the happiest Bus driver in London - but there's a big back story and that's a big part of the reason why he is so happy. Born in London to Nigerian parents, and having spent some of his youth in his beloved Nigeria, Patrick's upbringing wasn't without it's difficulties and challenges - this lead to him serving several stints in prison and his addiction to Class A drugs. He found his life threatened in a drug den in London and he was lucky to escape with his life and it was then that he decided that he needed to turn his life around... His story didn't end on the bus routes, he took it on to the next level. His story is one that proves that you can turn things around and become the master of your own destiny. The opening music is "London Bayou" by Oscar Albis Rodriguez and the closing music is "BDS" by Lewis Pickford. tallboyradio.com

#TBR219 - Old School
We take a trip back in time to 33 years ago when your hosts were sitting their A-levels. We're joined by Rob McKie and James Peake to reminisce on those good ol' days. We hear about the Anarcho-pacifist movement, Dave getting trapped in a room, Ms Woodcock and plenty more. Most interestingly though is hearing how 5 people experienced the same time but with 5 different experiences and perceptions. Again, we apologise for the audio which is utter shite. #TBR216 - What the camera didn't see
Can you imagine what it must be like on the set of a Movie with Hollywood A-listers spouting out iconic lines in front of you? Well our guest, Alec Hirschfield, didn't have to imagine - he was the cameraman on some incredible productions. He joins us to share his stories and experiences. From having Robert De Niro giving his "You talking to me" speech in Taxi Driver whilst staring right at him to a missed opportunity with Scream Queen Jamie Lee Curtis. It's a life we are frankly quite jealous of! We cram as much as we can in to just one hour... but if you want some more then guess what? Alec has penned his memoirs and you can pick your copy up from Amazon - just click on the link: What the Camera Didn't See: A Cameraman's Journey from New York to Denmark, Spain, the Caribbean, Hollywood and Back: Amazon.co.uk: Hirschfeld, Alec: 9798846431102: Books The opening music is "London Bayou" by Oscar Albis Rodriguez and the closing music is "BDS" by Lewis Pickford. tallboyradio.com

#TBR196 - The NFL invades London
We love American Football (or Football as it's called stateside) and we love to talk about it. We were honoured to be joined by Liz to talk about how interest in the game has grown in the UK. One of the 1st female hosts of an NFL Podcast - and hosts a podcast for Sky Sports, we were keen to hear her take. Liz was lucky enough to get to all 3 International games in Wembley and White Hart Lane and all whilst performing press duties. It's clear that she is passionate about the game and has a great deal of knowledge. It was another opportunity for Dave to learn about the game that we thoroughly expect him to become a big fan of. We also looked at the likelihood and controlling factors about the much discussed idea of a franchise in London or even a whole conference in Europe and the barring factors that could prevent that from happening. Why not check out Liz's content online at @NFLgirlUK.

#TBR189 - Travel like a Tall Boy
We have all had some amazing holidays this summer and we're pleased to be able to share some of those stories with you. San Antonio, Texas. Orlando, Florida. Lanzarote, Spain. 3 different holidays.
Beans headed to Texas to fulfil a dream with his family and I do mean family. Taking his Wife and 2 Kids to stay with the cousin he tracked down on the internet when there was a missing link in the family tree. Beau had been to England in 2022 and to be able to spend 10 days with them on the return journey to Texas - it was a dream come true and the holiday of a lifetime... and to spend his 50th at a party at Beau and Cris' house - phenomenal.
Gaz took his Wife and kids to Orlando, Florida - wondering whether this could be the last trip they take together as his kids get older. He wanted to do something special, his daughters had turned 18 and 16 and passed their exams with flying colours and he and his Wife had been married 20 years... and, of course, Gaz had just turned 50. They wanted to do something special so they revisited one of their favourite holidays.
Dave wanted a break away from his busy work life as CEO of a successful company and the renovation of his house to spend some time relaxing with his Wife and 2 kids. Along the way, he had some great experiences.
Go grab yourself a cold one, kick back and enjoy. Did you know that you can get 20% off your order at ollys-ollys.com just by listening to this podcast. The opening music is "London Bayou" by Oscar Albis Rodriguez and the closing music is "BDS" by Lewis Pickford.

#TBR176 - Do you believe the media?
Again we listened to some clips from social media - but this time we fell in to one of their traps and got distracted by the nonsense and distracted away from the real story... Do the Government want us to be talking about silliness like an MP asking to take a speed awareness course in private instead of focusing on the way that they control, direct and cajole instead of representing our wishes. It's not all politics, there's fun stuff like global warming, should we be offended by jokes and cancel the comedians and are we aliens? Enjoy!
