#7 Scott Steer & Veteran Grappling
Scott Steer  is a combat army veteran of Afghanistan and Iraq. He is Judo black belt competing and coaching over the years for Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland and the Australian & New Zealand national teams in Judo.   Scott is founder of the Veteran Grappling community program developed to offer free lessons in Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling and yoga. Veteran Grappling has joined forces with a medical team who are currently conducting scientific research on how combat sports are a successful form of treatment for veterans dealing with psychological and physical health issues.      I got carried away in my conversation with Scott, and how the combat sports prepare him for the extreme environment in which professional soldiers work, and how grappling helps in healing process to bring veterans back to the civil life, so I even forgot to take picture with him for the episode, so I stall some from the Veteran Grappling Facebook Page  and Veteran Grappling in Instagram   You can learn more about the program at RSL website,  or contact Scott at  Email: veterangrappling@gmail.com  You can support Veteran Grappling work with veterans at  the fundraisers in Facebook  or GoFundMe   Veteran Grappling Grand Opening is this weekend 03 August 2019 at  33 Expansion St, Molendinar QLD 4214 Australia  it is FREE and OPEN for everyone! #6 Jordan Sullivan
Jordan Sullivan  is a combat athlete himself and has an undergraduate degree in Exercise and Nutrition Science, and a Masters of Dietetic studies. He is working with amateur and professional UFC level athletes. His  The Fight Science Podcast  Is my favorite one, he talks with various scientists involved in the combat sports who break down the problems and methods of weight cutting. It is exciting to see how athletes who now get involved in science bring it now back into the combat sports and raise the game to a completely new level of understanding and performance. Unless you are not super-heavyweight who never have to worry about weight cut, I think this podcast is a must for every combat sport athlete. Get in touch with Jordan at: Instagram: www.instagram.com/the_fightdietitian Facebook : www.facebook.com/thefightdietitian Email: info@thefightdietitian.com Website: www.thefightdietitian.com   I greatly enjoy my conversation with Jordan and we will continue working with him in the future to support the athletes for the upcoming IMMAFA QLD Open Gold Coast tournament on 12-13.10.2019 with a Weight Cut workshop at the Gold Coast, to help the athletes to safely make weight for the competition. The date is yet to be confirmed but we are looking towards the mid September so stay tuned and follow the The Fight Dietitian Facebook page: www.facebook.com/thefightdietitian   and IMMAFA - International Mixed Martial Arts Federation of Australia  Facebook page: www.facebook.com/immafa1 And I hope you will enjoy and learn from this episode as much as I did.
