Ep 24 Are gyms a safe place during the COVID-19 era?

Ep 24 Are gyms a safe place during the COVID-19 era?

In this episode Jay and Matt dive deep, well as deep as the pool is on the current literature and research that looks at gyms and their ability to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We look at some key research from NSW, America, the UK, Singapore and Norway which both supports and refutes our thoughts.

We brake down the good, bad and ugly and try to shed some light on what the data and findings actually mean.

In short...

Are gyms safe? Well it depends.

Can gyms be safe? Absolutely.

Will i catch COVID if i go to the gym? highly unlikely like .00026% unlikely?

Can training and being physically active reduce the impacts of COVID? Absolutely.

Gyms are not the problem they are part of the solution.

We need to improve our attitude to health and wellbeing across society, we need to educate ourselves more on the power of being physically active and seeking preventative actions. We need to take responsibility for our individual health.

We hope you have enjoyed this passionate episode. please feel free to share it far and wide with anyone in the health and fitness industry

Ep 19. Loris Bertolacci The Godfather of Strength and Conditioning in Australia

Wow. Where do we start with this one.  In this episode Matt is joined by S&C, Sport Scientist and Exercise Physiologist Loris Bertolacci.  Loris has a resume that simply does not fit into this description. He has coached across four decades with multiple AFL clubs, Olympic level athletes and squads including the Australian women's volleyball team and currently works as a Strength and Conditioning coach with the Shanghai institute of sport.  Loris was also quite that athlete in his early days having competed internationally in Hammer throw.  If you are a strength and conditioning coach working in the field currently and trying to develop or improve your program Loris has been there and done it. He offers so much insight and wisdom on what works and what doesn't as well as what is most important when training athletes.  If you want to follow Loris on his strength and conditioning career you can find him on  Linkedin @Loris Bertolacci Instagram and twitter @loris.bertolacci Thanks for listening to the episode if you have any recommendations for who you want to hear next or any feedback please reach out on  www.athleteperformanceeducation.com @athleteperformance_ed
