Positivity or Optimism? Lean into what feels supportive and true for you.

Positivity or Optimism? Lean into what feels supportive and true for you.

I've been thinking about positivity and optimism and their differences.  I wonder if these terms and 'hashtags' we use - #minsdetiseverything and #positivemindset  - are truly, everything. Or are they terms we use, so often, in this coaching/self improvement and self development space, that can feel supportive to some degree - also, depending on our life circumstances. Or can they, at times, actually create the opposite of positivity, and instill feelings of lack or failure, if we can't truly live up to this. Is the answer - yes, mindset is everything, but perhaps not without our heart connection too. Or perhaps it's not a positive mindset, but an optimistic outlook, that's far more valuable, supportive and brings all the feelings I believe in so much - calm, ease, connection and confidence within - from this optimistic place.  I know there are so many various schools of thought on this, and I want to share, in this episode, just a little of what I mean and feel.  Why I personally choose and favour optimism over positivity.  And I encourage you to reflect on what feels most true and supportive for you.  You might agree, or not - and I invite you to share your thoughts, as I'd love to hear and know.  I hope you enjoy listening in and if so, you might like to share with someone else too.

Embody your artistry - Conversation with Kimberley Smith

Embody your artistry - Conversation with Kimberley Smith

What a delight to share this conversation today. Kim is a writer, singer & coach and she has a fierce passion and devotion to support and liberate artists, to speak up and be a warrior for the gifts they have to share, to know their worth, to help them remember who they are, and to feel alive.  Beautiful themes for so many of us, as creatives, and self expression being a huge part of wellbeing.
In this conversation, we talk about so many nourishing and beautiful things - Kim's work as a voice coach; the impact of covid for artists and musicians; that we are all artists and creatives in our own lives and claiming this within ourselves; a sense of worthiness and feeling enough that many of us struggle with; music and artistry as a homecoming to ones self; devotion over discipline; how to handle criticism and see failure as empowering growth; and so much more! I so loved sharing this conversation today, and I know you'll enjoy listening in.

Sharing a beautiful conversation with Christina Butcher, Hair Romance & Mr and Mrs Romance

It's a delight to share this conversation with Christina, about her two businesses, Hair Romance & Mr and Mrs Romance. Christina started blogging 11 years ago, from her own relationship and journey with her hair, and she's now a best selling author and blogger, and shares incredible hair styling resources, tutorials and so much support for other women. It's inspiring and insightful talking to her about the relationship we all have with our hair and how we see and feel about ourselves, our hair as a huge part of health and wellbeing, hair grief and ways women with hair loss can feel more empowered and confident, and so much more. If you're new to blogging and writing, or would love some inspiration, Christina also shares some really helpful tips to get started and for the words to flow. Mr and Mrs Romance is a travel and lifestyle blog and website,  Christina runs with her husband, Jim. It's a very special story as to how they met and this business came to life, and these two 'romances' connect. Mr and Mrs Romance shares adventures and travel tips, with their love and passion for eating, drinking, traveling, photography and more.  It's lovely to find out more about how they created this business, and inspiring for all of us to find new adventures in our lives, and a love for travel and exploring places closer to home, in these times, too. I loved sharing this conversation with Christina - she's so engaging, open, and a delight to talk to, with so much to share. Enjoy listening in, as much as I enjoyed sharing this conversation today.

A simple life is a life of intention - Conversation with Bec Shann

I'm delighted to share this conversation with Bec Shann at Think Big Live Simply.  It's a beautiful, enriching, and insightful conversation about permaculture principles and how these can translate into all aspects of our lives in a holistic way, values based living, simple living, and all the small ways we can choose to make a big difference, and so much more!

In this conversation, Bec shares -

What it really means for her, to live a simple life.
Values based living and holistic decision making as a foundation for creating a simple life.
Her transition from living in Victoria, and moving with her husband, to the home they've now built on 4 acres, on the far coast of NSW.
What permaculture actually is and means, and all the small and big ways, we can choose to make a difference, in our lifestyles wherever we live.
Living through the bushfires in her community last year, and all the uncertainties, of rebuilding through covid and ongoing, and the reality of it all.

Support your whole being and feel your way through with calm and ease

In this episode, I share a compassionate conversation with my friend and colleague, Steph, who also has a background in mental health, and a shared passion for emotional wellbeing, in a truly holistic way.  We both believe that caring for and knowing ways to support our mental health and our emotional wellbeing is necessary for our whole wellbeing.  We have been holding support sessions for others in our community, talking around themes of uncertainty, change, grief and loss, heightened stress and anxiety, worrying thoughts, overwhelm, and the many affects of mental health and the impact for so many, through this challenging COVID-19 time.  With our combined expertise and years of professional experience, as well as our own personal lived experiences through challenging times, we share our own feelings and emotions, as well as practical ways to manage and support ourselves, and others, to navigate these times with more calm and ease.  We hope you will feel supported by listening in, and know that as you feel your own way through these times, we are here for you, with understanding and compassion.  With love x

Time may not heal all grief, but we can live with gratefulness as joy

Time may not heal all grief, but we can live with gratefulness as joy

This episode is Part 1 of a series I will be speaking to, around loss and grief.

Today's solo episode is a personal reflection of grief, to begin this series here, with all my support and love.

In this series, I want to talk about grief and loss more honestly and openly, for us all.  Grief in all its complexity and layers.  Grief as loss through death, as we may know it.  Grief through all the emotions and feelings within the midst of us all as a collective, and personally in our own hearts and lives.  I want to share my knowledge for support, not only from working with others over many years through uncertainty and change in many ways, but from my own heart, as a human being who knows grief and loss, through my own lived experiences.  Something I do believe is that what we know and grow and learn and heal through, may just touch and support one person, who shares with someone else.  We don't talk about grief and loss enough in our communities, and I want to add my part in changing that, here.  Especially during these uncertain and challenging times, right now.

This is Part 1 of this series today.  I reflect and speak to grief in my own heart and life, in a way I hope will feel supportive to someone listening in, if grief has touched and changed your life as you know it, for you to feel you're not alone.  My hope is that my own thoughts, just as I speak them today, in the moment, very much from my heart, may resonate to you through someone you've lost, someone you love who is no longer here but always with you.  I invite you to just listen in, take in anything or something thing that might feel supportive to you, or someone you know to share this with.

I'll be sharing Part 2 of this series through this coming week.

Sharing a nourishing conversation over a cup of tea, with my dear friend Casey

Very much in the moment, I recorded this conversation over a cup of tea, with my dear friend Casey.  We often share nourishing and interesting conversations together and in the flow of this unedited podcast, I'm sharing one of these today.  Meaningful and enriching conversations with people we connect with and love, are a huge part of joyful living and wellbeing.  In this epsiode, I chat with Casey about beautiful things like forest living, connecting to nature, the rythmns and cycles of our seasons, her passion for learning the art and practice of tea ceremony, as well as writing for creativity and self expression ... and lots of other nourishing things.  I encourage you to listen in over a cup of tea and imagine you're sitting with us, as friends, joining in this conversation and allow yourself to take in any insights that resonate, light you up, or just to take time to reflect and slow down.  Especially in these challenging and interesting times right now.  Perhaps this conversation will encourage you to connect with someone you love today, in a meaningful and enriching way.

Casey has a website she sometimes shares writing through:
http://www.caseyreigne.com/  She is also going to be creating her own podcast, and I encourage you to stay connected to learn more about this beautiful project when it comes to life.

You can find her writing and posts on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/caseyreigne/

Earth healing, raising our vibration, and being a bright light in these uncertain times, with Dr Mahdi Mason

Earth healing, raising our vibration, and being a bright light in these uncertain times, with Dr Mahdi Mason

In this epsiode, I share an authentic and nourishing conversation with Dr Mahdi Mason. Mahdi is a land and property healer, international author, speaker and environmental consultant.  We talk about shamantic healing, especially in these uncertain times, of releasing wounds and emotions to feel whole again. We talk about the benefits of property healings, the tools Mahdi uses and ways she tunes into these, and how raising the vibrational energy can shift spaces in a positive way for health and happiness. Mahdi also shares some really helpful ways we can all embrace healing in our homes right now, whilst we are spending so much time indoors, and ways we can raise our own energy to feel uplifted.  We also talk about using this time to focus inwards, to really get to know ourselves in a deep and healthy way, and how we can be a bright light to others. I felt so energised after talking with Mahdi and I know you will too, by listening in.  She is one of the most genuine people I know, with so much knowledge and wisdom, and it's impossible to not feel passionate about empowering ourselves, and deepening our own healing through our connection with nature.  Enjoy listening in as much as I loved sharing this conversation.

Holding space for all feelings and emotions

Holding space for all feelings and emotions

In this episode, I talk about holding space for all our feelings and emotions.  Every feeling we have is valid.  Every emotion needs and deserves acknowledgement.  Especially, and even more so, during these uncertain and challenging times.  I also speak about my belief in 'less as more' and how pressing pause, stepping back, and taking time to reflect, might be the most supportive thing for you, right now.  I feel passionate about all of this as true compassion and support for our whole wellbeing.  Personally and collectively.  I hope this 'in the moment' and unedited episode will feel supportive to you, in some way.

Be willing and liberate your life, with Hayley Carr

Be willing and liberate your life, with Hayley Carr

I love sharing these in the moment, unedited, real conversations with guests on this podcast.  Today, it's such a joy to share this heart opening conversation with Hayley Carr.  Hayley is a 9 X Karate World Champion, and Life & Leadership Coach for high peformers.  She has a very special and unique way of turning things upside down and inside out, and when you take it all in, it just makes sense.  As with this conversation and many others with Hayley, I am always left with much to ponder, reflect on, question, things that may challenge me, things that make me see myself and life in a very different way, or a new perspective.

There are so many things we talk about in this episode - too many to summarise - but all so deeply relevant, for us all as well beings.  I just encourage you to listen in with curiosity, openness, and with a pen or pencil, to write down all the insights that will come up for you, as they always do for me.  I just love being around Hayley - her energy is magnetic, she's honest and open,  and she's one of the most powerful and compassionate human beings I know.  I feel deeply blessed with her presence in my life.  I know that by listening in, you'll feel empowered to liberate your life, and believe that you can when you are willing.  As in her own beautiful words 'the life you crave is so much closer than you think'.

Lean in, listen in and enjoy x

You can find and read everything about Hayley through her website at: https://hayleycarr.tv/

All details for her NLP Certification with Soul program, starting soon, can be found here: https://hayleycarr.tv/nlp-training

A few words to share from her website:

I’m Hayley Carr

A 9 X world champion martial artist, a girl who once suffered for a long time with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (and used these tools to deal with it once and for all) - and a vintage vespa-riding, country dwelling tea enthusiast.

I know the pain of going around in circles mentally with myself without action for years on end.

I know the elation of breaking through glass ceilings over, and over again to reach heights people only dream about - as well as the dark side of that high achievement.

And I know the hurt or beauty a single sentence can bring. Especially as a coach.

Imagine if you knew just what to say and how to say it, to help someone completely transform before your eyes from functional, to exceptional. Not just with “hope it helps”, but with certainty you can break through anything.

To support them through things you’ve never necessarily been through yourself even, because you understand what’s going on beneath the surface, at the unconscious level.

Imagine having that level of understanding, and influence.

It brings me to tears.

This is what NLP does.

It heals.

Self expression and creativity with Karly Nimmo

In this episode, I share a beautiful and compassionate conversation with Karly Nimmo.  You may know Karly as a No. 1 iTunes podcaster of two podcasts right now: Karlosophies and Rock Your Mic Right.

Karly is many a thing really, as a multi passionate woman, and in her own words, she is "a serial entrepreneur, mad creator, born communicator and connector with a crazy knack for getting you to connect to your truth and see life from a different perspective".  Our conversation today brings all these qualities and more to light, and I am so grateful for all that Karly shares with me here.

We talk about so many things, including mental health and wellbeing, along with Karly's own experiences living with depression and ways of supporting herself.  Karly shares beautiful thoughts and reflections around creativity and self expression as the essence of wellbeing for her, and how expressing herself openly and sharing her truth allows her to be completely herself and to find harmony in life.  There is so much in our conversation that is heart opening, enriching, meaningful and supportive for anyone listening in.  It's such a joy to connect with compassionate human beings like Karly, and to share these valuable conversations, to encourage all aspects of wellbeing, for ourselves and with one another.

I hope you will enjoy listening in and you can find both of Karly's podcasts and more details about connecting with her at: https://www.karlynimmo.com/

Finding Your Cooking Mojo with Lunch Lady Lou

Finding Your Cooking Mojo with Lunch Lady Lou

In this episode, it's such a pleasure to share a conversation with my beautiful friend Lou, from Lunch Lady Lou.  She's a delight in so many ways and it's wonderful to share her inspiring message here, around everything to do with cooking stress free, delicious meals,  with simplicity and with joy. Lou inspires me greatly with her creativity, passion for cooking and teaching cooking in a fun and simple way, all of her recipes, cooking classes and online courses.  She exudes enthusiasm and a zest for life, which is all very contagious and I honestly believe we all need a little, or a lot, of Lou in our lives.  Cooking is for everyone, and learning to love cooking,  'celebrating the basics', and making conscious choices around healthy and wholesome food, is such a necessary part of embracing wellbeing.   We talk about so many wonderful things in this very 'in the moment' conversation, which is unedited and recorded just as it all naturally flows.  I know that by listening in, you'll feel not only inspired to get into the kitchen, but you'll see cooking in a new way that's simple and fun, and you'll want to check out all of what Lou shares and her delicious recipes too.
