Ezekiel 37: 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8 Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them.9 Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘ Thus says the Lord G OD: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.10 So I prophesied as He commanded me,and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army
Acts 2: 1When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2: 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved
Two constantly recurring themes lately have been Spiritual Breakthrough and Unity. I do not believe the two can be separated.
Fanning the flame. In Pentecost, it took both the fire of God and the wind of the Spirit to impact the world.
We must hear the rushing wind from heaven before we will experience the Fire
There once was a blacksmith who had two pieces of iron which he wished to weld into one. He took them just as they were, all cold and hard, and put them on the anvil, and began to hammer with all this might, but they were still two pieces, and they would not unite. At last he remembered what he should never have forgotten. He thrust both of them into the fire, took them out red-hot, laid one on the other, and by one or two blows of the hammer they soon became one. Describe the scene in Ezekiel has a battlefield where the enemy had annihilated Gods people by dismembering them.
Restoration must follow some order.
Bones came together Bone To Bone (under the word of God or the wind of the Spirit)
It is not original to compare the Church to the human body. Should it surprise us that the enemy would like to disassemble the church by dividing us?
Before anything else can take place we must become One
2. Breath came into them
Three examples in scripture where God-breathed 1) Adam 2)valley of bones 3)When Jesus imparted power on the disciples Jn 20:22
3. They Lived
Romans 8: 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
4. Stood upon their feet (Individually)
We must each begin to stand upon our own Spiritual legs. We can not ride the back of others.
5. Became an exceeding army (corporately)
Only then will we become the Mighty army as a Church that God wants.
Acts 2: 1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2: 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved
Opening Remarks: The Enemy has done everything possible to separate the Body of Christ. Physically, politically, Racially and on and on. Why? Look at John 17 Jesus last prayer for disciples and future believers v 11-12 & 20-21
Where there is Unity there Is:
A fresh anointing:
Psalms 133: 1Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity!
2It is like the precious oil upon the head,
Running down on the beard,
The beard of Aaron,
Running down on the edge of his garments.
3It is like the dew of Hermon,
Descending upon the mountains of Zion;
For there the LORD commanded the blessing—
John 13: 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Conclusion: We must overcome every attempt to be divided so that God may be glorified through us.
We need Dreamer’s
Genesis 37: 18 And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him. 19 And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh.
Dr. King’s dream that all men and women, might one day be equals is biblically sound and correct and we owe a great debt of gratitude for Dr. King’s foresight, knowledge, courage, and Christian Character.
As Americans regardless of race, we are far better off today because of this great American hero.
“I have decided to stick with Love because hatred is too great a burden to bear” MLK
4 Tests your dream must endure:
Joshua 14: 7 Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.
8 Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God.
1. The Pit: The test of injustice
· A victim mentality is like cancer that erodes your dream, it must be cut out and discarded.
2. Potiphar’s house: The test of integrity
· Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1
3. The Prison: The test of Isolation and abandon
· 1 kings 19:14 And he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; because the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left, and they seek to take my life.”
4. The Palace: The test of Pride and maturity
· Gen 50:19-20 19 Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? 20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
Do you have a dream?
Do you want God to show you a brighter future?
Are you willing to stand alone “A voice crying in the Wilderness”
Isaiah 43:18-21 (NKJV)
18 “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring
forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert. 20 The beast of the field
will honor Me, The jackals and the ostriches, Because I give waters in the wilderness And rivers in the desert, To give
drink to My people, My chosen. 21 This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise.
1 Peter 2:9-10
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may
proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a
people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
Opening: God is calling us to embrace our Identity as His chosen people. So thru His provision and protection, He will be
1. New Seasons Bring Change:
If you refuse to change (adapt) to your season you may not survive. In life we dress for seasons, we adjust activities, we
eat different etc. So should we in Spiritual Seasons
“That which does not kill us, makes us stronger.”
Joseph: Gen 50. 20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring
it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
2. New Seasons Bring new challenges:
When is the last time you thanked the Lord for your Goliaths?
Every level has new obstacles to deal with, and yes 2021 will bring about challenges as well. Sickness, Death, Financial
struggles, Family struggles “But God” has prepared you for such a time as this.
3. New Seasons Bring new champions
Gen 50:21 21 Now, therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them
and spoke kindly to them.
No Longer Joseph the dreamer but Joseph the provider and sustainer
Closing Remarks: Are you ready to embrace your identity as God’s chosen people? Last week we talked about putting
things behind us? What are you ready to leave behind to become who God has called you to be?
Pastor Jeremy talks about how the world seems to have forgotten the lost. How we have time to go on missions, to spend money on missions, to travel, and how easy it is in many 1st world societies to just get distracted from the mission and simply don't take action. Churches have a role, no matter if you're the one holding the baby, or sending the missionary to hold the baby. All the roles are important and it will take a commitment from everyone who's part of the process.
Pastor Dan talks about how Jesus performed the Sermon on the Mount and how it was documented and examined, how the Pharisees treated the people, the growing religious class, and how the system was growing in corruptness until Jesus got angry and literally kicked them out of the temple.
Pastor Dominic talks about how the spread of the gospel went viral in it's time and how it still applies today and it's still a valid topic and how it can affect someone so much when they hear it, it can touch them in such a way that they don't want to keep it to themselves and they want to share it.
When Jesus gets in your boat. (It is all about knowing Him)
Levels of Maturity
a) He will only take you as far has your relationship will handle
put out a little from the land
Cast out a little – Minimal effort witness His ministry in the multitudes, learning about Him
b) When it gets personal No longer was addressing the multitude put Peter personally
Launch out in the deep – this is the separation from the crowds requires greater effort, greater faith, greater obedience to “His word”
(Transition) The Deep is where your Faith gets tested
c) Faith calls for Blind obedience (This is where the real blessings exist) Nevertheless Faith v5
What’s in your hand? God used His nets as the tool of blessing.
1) Is where your Faith is tested
Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net
d) Are you ready for the Increase to share (abundance)
They no longer needed there nets they were entering a new season v.10
Pastor Hutto talks about how important a simple thing like shoes are when it comes to battle.
Roman soldier shoes the design of the caliga allowed for its adjustment, which would have helped reduce chafing; it probably made an "ideal marching boot", and "the thunderous sound of an attack by a hobnailed army (caligati) must have been terrifying."
1. Identity– Luke 15: 22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on hisfeet.
2. Protection- It may seem strange to consider shoes to be part of your armor, but can you imagine going to battle shoeless? You would most likely be in pain with every step, as you pass over all kinds of harsh landscape. Ultimately, it would inhibit your ability to fight.
3. Possession – Josh 1:3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.
4. Effectiveness Having our feet fitted with the shoes of the gospel of peace allows us to be ready to share God with others at all times. As Christians, we should always be prepared, as we never know when an opportunity may arise to share the good news of the gospel with someone else. Ultimately, the shoes of peace equip us to fight for Christ in the spiritual battles we face.
Pastor Dan Southworth talks about the Armor of God, The Breastplate of Righteousness. He describes how armor was made by the romans, what it protected and why it is so vital to put it on over and over and not grow weary.
Pastor Dominic talks about the Armor of God. Specifically today we talk about The Belt of Truth and how it may be one of the most important pieces of armor.
Nehemiah 1: 3 And they said to me, “The survivors who are left from the captivity in the province are there in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is also broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.”
4 So it was, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned for many days; I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.
Chapter 2: And it came to pass in the month of Nisan, in the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes, when wine was before him, that I took the wine and gave it to the king. Now I had never been sad in his presence before. 2 Therefore the king said to me, “Why is your face sad since you are not sick? This is nothing but sorrow of heart.”
So I became dreadfully afraid, 3 and said to the king, “May the king live forever! Why should my face not be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ tombs, lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire?”
4 Then the king said to me, “What do you request?”
So I prayed to the God of heaven. 5 And I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I ask that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers’ tombs, that I may rebuild it.”
6 Then the king said to me (the queen also sitting beside him), “How long will your journey be? And when will you return?” So it pleased the king to send me, and I set him a time.
7 Furthermore, I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, let letters be given to me for the governors of the region beyond the River, that they must permit me to pass through till I come to Judah, 8 and a letter to Asaph the keeper of the king’s forest, that he must give me timber to make beams for the gates of the citadel which pertains to the temple, for the city wall, and for the house that I will occupy.” And the king granted them to me according to the good hand of my God upon me.
9 Then I went to the governors in the region beyond the River and gave them the king’s letters. Now the king had sent captains of the army and horsemen with me.
It is much easier to tear down than to rebuild. It takes far less skill to destroy than to create.
Beginning steps of restoration:
I. Honest evaluation
a) Allowing God to burden your heart
Extremist create Hopelessness, complacency, division, unrealistic expectation.
II. Earnest Prayer & Fasting:
We must seek the Lord fervently both individually and in our public gatherings.
2 Chron 7: 14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land
III. Preparing for opportunities
Ready to seize opportunities / have a plan in place.
Ephesians 3: 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
IV. Step out in Faith
Willingness to lead. There will be times of victory as well as loneliness and isolation we must stay on point.
2 Cor 5: 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight
Value of Faith
1 Peter 4:12 12 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; NKJV
1 Peter 1:7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. NLT
1 Cor 3:11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation withgold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.
Do not be taken by surprise:
do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you,
Where is your Faith?
These trials will show that your faith is genuine.
· God / Virus
Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen
Which has altered your life greater?
Value of Faith:
Heb 11:6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
1 pet 1:7b though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
Closing: Increase our Faith:
Luke 17:5-6 (NKJV)5 And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.” 6 So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
The Mustard seed Faith Process:
a) It must be buried
Resistance builds strength: What are some challenges that you have overcome. Do we have any body builders here? Sets of reps eventually become simple and then we Increase.
· Our Faith or need for faith must be challenged (The grieving Father)
· Buried put not to deep
1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV)
13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God isfaithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
b) We must Die to self to become something greater:
Brokenness – loss of self-reliance – we can’t be what we are and be someone better.
24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”
c) Nutrition – your faith must be fed
Fertile soil water etc
d) Develop Roots:
Grow where you are planted
e) Strength to overcome
Press thru the circumstance that has buried you
End Results – Produce fruit that produces seed
