Ioana tells us about her journey to discover what being a happy single mom looks like. 

We talk about finding some silver linings in widowhood and facing the reality becoming single again. Moving from ‘why’ mentality to ‘now what’ and making a new reality or a version of life that we like. We also share about dating and laundry services and how her mindset has changed in relation to delegation and outsourcing, it really does takes a community. She leaves us with powerful words re framing her mindset and encourages us to all to dream new BOLD dreams.

I’ve lost my Parents and Grandparents | In Every Season

Season 3 - Processing grief with Suliat Kofo Bello Suliat is an education and training instructor, a makeup art and an influencer. She joins us from Dublin to share her story on how she processed grief after loosing both parents and grand parents. In this two part episode, Suliat talks us through loosing both maternal figures, her mother then her grandmother. She also shares her feelings of grief as a child and what it was like returning to school after loosing her mum and how beneficial bereavement group support was for her. Then later in early adulthood, Suliat tells of how she became and a care giver to her siblings while at university following the death of her grandmother. We touch on the emotions that death brings such as sadness, anger and how she lost her faith. We also talk about her healing and finding her way back to God and the miraculous ways God showed up for her. In the next episode we discuss the loss of Suliat’s paternal figures, secondary losses and how to thrive after loss. Young Black and Widowed | In Every Season

Season 3 - Young Black and Widowed with Azurae Johnson Redmond.  Azurae joins us from all the way from Tennessee to talk about her experience of suddenly becoming young and widowed by lung cancer. In this episode Azure shares her story of how she started her journey of widowhood with a toddler on her hip whilst being 5 month pregnant. Three years later, Azure used her pain to birth purpose by starting the ‘Young Black and Widowed Inc’ not for profit in her late husbands memory. The key themes we discuss  - the stigma of being a single black mom, moving forward where there is no longer a road map and embracing those special memories.
