Academy of Reason: Ancient Tactics for Self Mastery, Inner Freedom and The Art of Living.

By Casey Spaulding
Join me as I explore Stoicism, and other philosophies from around the world to gather the best strategies and tactics for living our best possible life.

For hundreds of years, philosophy was not just an academic field of study but a way of life, an "Art of Living."

Hello, my name is Casey, a former teacher and retired U.S. Navy Chief turned podcast host. I love this stuff.

Thank you.

Seneca - 5 Top Quotes - Letters from a Stoic
In this episode, we’re going to explore Letters from a Stoic, which Seneca wrote toward the end of his life from approximately 63 AD to 65 AD. It is a collection of 124 letters Seneca sent to his friend Lucilius – then the procurator of Sicily (essentially an official in Ancient Rome) — advising him on how to become a better Stoic. I only go over 5 top quotes from several of his letters and discuss the lessons learned. You can find the book here: https://www.amazon.com/Letters-Penguin-Classics-Lucius-Annaeus/dp/0140442103 Podcast website: https://www.AcademyofReason.com Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/AcademyReason Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/academyofreason Thank you!
