Communications Officer Katie shares her thoughts about her visit to an end of Summer party on the Holiday Scheme.

This month we have a special guest host — Trainer, Comedian and Writer, Mel Byron. Mel sits down with Accuro staff Amy, Luisa and Katie to talk about their comfort zones and confidence with public speaking, and offers invaluable advice and tips on how to overcome this very real fear shared by so many.

On Saturday 24th June, our STRIDE members in Harlow graduated in a beautiful ceremony held at The Gibberd Garden. Members looked back at all the memories they have made over the last six months and spoke to staff about their highlights and what the programme is all about. Hear from some of the graduates, a parent of one of the members, and Senior Support Worker at STRIDE, Luisa. Congratulations STRIDE Class of 2023 from everyone at Accuro!

Communications officer Katie chats to Puri, Director of Exotic Explorers, an award-winning mobile zoo and animal education company based in Essex. Exotic Explorers have visited Accuro members twice on the holiday scheme and Puri fills us in on all the experiences they offer and how the sessions were received by members — it makes a very interesting listen!

'STRIDE' Harlow Members have graduated! The first 6-Month Life Skills Programme came to a close this week, with members celebrating their achievements at a graduation party. In this bonus episode, we hear from our members and their families about what STRIDE meant to them.

We are so proud of our first EVER group of STRIDE Graduates and we can't wait to launch the next 6-month programme in Uttlesford.

A huge thank you to the staff, volunteers, supporters and funders, in particular The National Lottery Community Fund, that made STRIDE possible and of course, to our members and their families for helping to make the first STRIDE programme such a joy and a success.

While Accuro’s Youth Clubs have been able to go ahead with Covid Safe measures in place, the Adult Friendship Scheme is still unable to meet under current government guidelines.

Club coordinator Kerry didn’t let that stop her though and she took to the road for some fun, festive doorstep visits!
