Across Oceans

By Julia Walker

Across Oceans is a podcast where we discuss all things related to Third Culture Kids (TCKs), growing up overseas, returning to passport countries, unique travel stories and more. You will hear a unique TCK perspective of someone who is now an adult, but who grew up moving around the globe because of their international school teacher parents. We’ll discuss the benefits, the challenges and everything in between with growing up as a global nomad.

#8- A Conversation with a Third Culture Kid Therapist (ft. Dr. Rachel Cason)

I’d like to introduce you to a very unique guest- Dr. Rachel Cason! Not only is she a TCK and fellow podcaster, but she is also a therapist specialising in helping adult TCKs unpack their TCK upbringing through using the method of life story interviews. This is a method she researched and used during her PhD thesis on TCKs- and now uses in her therapy practice. Listen to hear about her journey from being a missionary kid to TCK therapist!

#10- Growing Up Between Borders

At one point today’s guest spoke five different languages! Growing up on the boarder of Togo and Ghana, Emmanuel had to learn several languages to navigate this cross cultural and cross border up brining. After planning to do this episode for some time, we finally sat down to discuss this, as well as being foreigners in Switzerland.
