Ep. 31 - A Tenuous Balance
Welcome back to Actuali! In this episode, we begin by addressing the current crisis facing our world, this dark night of soul in America, and this beautiful chance we have to go beyond our labels. By widening our frames of reference, to see beyond our teams and tribes, our ideas and labels, we may remember what we are first and foremost: children of the cosmos, of earth and star. For the sake of hope, though I do sense us skirting the precipice, I also speak to a sense light on the horizon, as more and more come to deep life-affirming realizizations of what we really are, sparking off new lights, radiating brighter and brighter, their every heartful action rippling out. I pray enough of us can unite in the all-agreeable common cause of Love itself. To that effect, I wrote a poem, an older version of which I read on here some months before the corona virus event begin (Ep. 17). In this episode, the poem/prayer is presented in a new light, in perhaps a somewhat more refined form, with further explication of its meaning. I hope you find in it some cure for life's anxieties as they naturally arise in these changing times. It is a call to our unconditional love.  Though, this is no common gesture, and the most challenging posture to take, at least initially. It can be said that it waits for each of us, to awaken through us, as what we truly are. Though, this is just an invitation, as we come here to see for ourselves. For we fear this potential, for it eradicates the ego, and all our fear driven attachments and drives. This is the most courageous step one can take in life: to die before death, though we do so that we may be reborn again, within this life, ever-brighter, evermore the Truth of our highest Self. There are few ways to share this. Poetry is one. I hope this finds you well. Poems in this episode include: 'Next Lvl / A Prayer', 'Afternoon', 'Emergence', 'Timeless Transitions', 'Remembering'.

Ep. 29 - The Grace of Meditation
Hello everybody! Welcome back to Actuali!  We continue our exploration into the deepest questions of life, to understand our relationship with the deepest, most fundamental aspects of reality, that we may come to know ourselves truly, and be our Actual I. In this episode, we are utilizing a simple technique which involves only being aware of one's breathing during meditation, noticing thought distractions, and patiently returning attention to our breathing.  This allows us to get an experiential sense and build up a bodily memory of what Now, this very present moment, feels like without our thoughts, feelings, and perceptions laden over it. In returning our awareness to the Now we build up this sense which allows us to be freed of the impact of thoughts and feelings, gradually, and evermore over time as we deepen our practice.  And breathing, is a very simple, benign (not emotionally loaded) focal point for attention that is grounded here in the present, so it is a perfect anchor point for attention to return to. So, join us as we deepen our facility for returning to this all loving, healing, peaceful and free sense of presence, through the simple, effective mode of attending to our breath.  Soon, a deep breath to the stomach will come naturally to you, to ease any troubled moment. Love you guys!  Hope you all safe and sound during this trying time.  Feel free to call into the show through the free Anchor app if you'd like to talk, or have any questions! Your Host, Chris P.S. Ep. 28 - The Isness of Existence
Welcome back to Actuali podcast! This is Episode 28 - The Isness of Existence: Excerpt: As we get a sense of the isness of  existence, and we recognize the Truest, Deepest Sense of Self, we  realize once and for all, we are not the images we hold of ourselves,  nor is anyone else. Of course, we build impressions of everyone we  encounter, but as we come to  know that we are not our self-images, we  understand this of others as well. The drawing is not the thing, the map  is not the territory, the menu is not the food, a tree is not the word. Words  are mere low resolution place holders, icons for actual existence, and  the only way to experience actual existence, as was eluded to of Neo in  the Matrix when he awakens as the One.  This metaphor is ancient, and it  describes the moment one awakens to the underlying, actual nature of  reality, and sees beyond their programming and conditioning, beyond the  projections, the approximations, the representations, to experience a  sense of oneness, of unity with everything around us. #podcast #meditation #awakening #selfinquiry #selfrealization #mindfulness

Ep. 27 - Beyond the Matrix - Tis the Season 2019
Welcome back to Actuali podcast! In this episode we pick up where we left off in Ep. 26 - Going Meta, Buddhist Metta, and now we continue where we left off in our inquiry, to delve ever deeper into the direct experience of this phenomena of awareness. From the episode: "Laden over this most primary sense of awareness, we all have these filters we perceive through, our different histories, and experiences, different challenges, accomplishments, and struggles, preferences and styles of interacting, but we all share the same experience of awareness that all of this occurs in, and through that, the same capacity for suffering, as well as the same capacity for overcoming, for creativity and co-creativity, for partnership, for love, and through love, the same capacity for consideration, for going beyond judgement to understanding, and forgiveness. This same sense of awareness upon which our frames of perception are laid over, this that is ultimately empty of features, is as consequence also too full of potential to describe, is something so vast in its implications it can never be adequately named, is something we still may dance around just the same.  We can beat around the bush, so to speak, to at least somewhat effectively point towards what no words can say, because though it is ineffable, indescribable, this space of awareness remains something we ourselves can directly experience. And this experience of life and awareness that we share, through the knowing, the consciousness of this very moment, this is the doorway to the Unification of all Verses, that answers this Universal conundrum, why am I here? What is life? The door is your sense of self, the sense of being here in this moment, right now." Enjoy the show!

Ep. 26 - Going Meta - Buddhist Metta - Tis the Season 2019
How can we see past our images of each other, to know each other as we are this moment, regardless of our different beliefs, as the always-changing ongoing miracles we truly are?  Can we be without a prebuilt image of another, while still holding a prebuilt image of ourselves? Behind descriptions of who we are according to traits, such as I am a [this profession], [this nationality], [this religion], with this name, these accomplishments, who is the I that has them?  When we say, I am this or I am that, I like this, I like that, Who is the Actual I? Welcome back to Actuali podcast! In this episode, we explore how we may drop the images, and see how we need not be attached to the ideas we hold, as they are simply tools we can use to interact with the world.  Rather than allowing the ideas that appear in our minds to be our masters, we make peace with this figment of self we've come to mistake for the most fundamental Truth of our being. It's time to get back in the driver seat. Let us embrace this paradox, that we are no-thing with room enough for everything, that we are limited only by our imaginations.  Let us see how we exist prior to these personages, these mirages / cast images, these projections of ideas we've accumulated over time.   We are not these jumbles of thoughts and memories of experiences.  We are the knower of all experiences!  The awareness before, behind, that continues on after each experience.  We are this that has always been here, unaffected.  But let's not get ahead of ourselves!  Join us on the deep dive into this most fundamental mystery of life:  Who are we beyond these images?  Who is the Actual I?

Ep. 24 - The Heart of Meditation
Welcome back to Actuali podcast! In this episode, we share the deep relaxation and opening of awareness that meditation allows. We delve into the sense of spaciousness around the breath to attune and resonate consciousness with the presence of this very moment. Here at Actuali, we practice what is known as the Direct Path, through self-inquiry style meditation, which invites us to be most immediately, and directly aware of presence itself, to identify the True ground of our being that is before all thoughts, ideas, conceptions, self-image. We delve into the deepest, most direct experience of being itself, for from here, we may cultivate the peace we seek in life. Join us and be refreshed! Much Love.

Ep. 22 A Light Amidst the Darkness
Welcome back to Actuali podcast! In this episode, I respond to the idea that humans are a disease, which Jason Mamoa, Aquaman, recently helped popularize at the recent UN Climate Conference. We further address the alarming rate of increase of anxiety, depression, and suicide, particularly among young people, and consider some of the more potentially detrimental language being thrown around today as response to environmental crisis. Specifically, we consider an alternative point of view to this suggestion that humanity is a mistake, a virus, or cancer to this world. And we consider instead, how we may be a light amidst the darkness. We also continue our inquiry into how integral a sense of the Sacred, a sense of wonder and awe is to our individual lives, as well as to the wider world. The hope may be small, but our highest goal remains: that we may be that change we wish to see in the world, and change this world from the inside-out.

Ep. 21 - A Sense of the Sacred
Welcome to Ep. 21 of Actuali podcast.  In this episode, we take a deep dive to discover and realign with a sense of the sacred, the ineffable, the wondrous mystery that is life.  We discuss that innate sense of wonder that we are all born with, and how this may be the most integral aspect of our humanity that allows us to overcome even the greatest challenges we face as a species. Excerpt: If there is not a sense of reverence, of that innate wonder for life that we are born with, we all too soon become lost to a maze of searching, and searching, and only fleetingly finding. We search for artificial fillers and distractions to fill a sense of meaningless in life, to decompress from the drudgery that is life. But it is here, always available, that sense of wonder. That sense of natural amazement, the great inhalation/exhalation that occurs when there is awe, when we experience such profound awesomeness, that we can but smile and revel in exhilaration.

Ep. 20 - The Truth of You
Ep. 20 of Actuali podcast (formerly Actualization Station) - We may have an idea of what we can do to improve ourselves; but until we fully commit to doing so, we cannot know what it takes to make a lasting, positive change within ourselves, and in the wider world. Take back the reigns. If you blame the world outside, you are making excuses that obscure the reasons why you can still succeed. And maybe you will fail; maybe random circumstances will prevail, but how will you know what's possible until you try? Many people have risen out of worse circumstances than we can imagine. They did not blame their lot on outside forces and make excuses for giving up. They took note of the challenges they faced, and focused on solutions and ways around the hurdles life presents us. They persevered, and accepted no excuses from themselves. They committed despite their fears despite all anxieties and depression. They committed despite all outside circumstances. They made a change within themselves, and did not stop until they had created a way forward. This is call to rise above the throngs of naysayers. This is a call to hold oneself accountable, rather than blame the actions and ideas of others. This is a call to actualize your full potential. There is a gap in the world that only you can fill. There is a hole in the world that awaits the truth of You. If you don't fill it, no one else can, and no one else will, for it was made by the absence of who you could truly be. Only You can choose to achieve. Only You can fulfill your highest visions, and make your dreams reality. So get moving! Your sense of purpose grants life meaning, confirms your belonging, which absolves the fear and trepidation that held you back before. Start within, and find your own unique, integral way to flow, for "the World is You, and You are the World." ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti #Actuali👁 #jiddukrishnamurti #Advancement #Actualize #Actualization #SelfDetermination #SelfRealization #Wisdom #wisdomquotes #zen #zenbuddhism #advaita #podcasts #inspiration #quotes #SelfTranscendence #Enlightenment #Meditation #Buddhism #Determination #Peace #Drive #InspirationalQuotes #Motivation #Podcast #SelfActualization #Podcast

Ep. 18 - The Flow of Life & Introducing Actuali podcast!
Hey everybody! In this episode of Actuali podcast (formerly Actualization Station), we inquire into the Art of Stillness, as well as cover a few poems I wrote which go with posts you can find on our respective Instagram and Facebook pages. And!  I introduce a new name for the podcast: Actuali !!!  What does this mean? And how will the podcast change?  Rest assured, I will maintain the aim and direction of this podcast, which in short, is to invite you to share in this process of ongoing Self-Realization, that we may  be that change we wish to see in the world. Together, we go within to discover our inherent nature, an ever deepening sense of peace, well-being, and with this freedom, we actualize our highest potential, for the sake of all that is good in this world! As I go into in this podcast, the term I am coining: Actuali, represents the deepest nature of ourselves.  Who is the Actual I?  What is this inherent awareness behind all thoughts, feelings, and sensations?  This that is before our self-conceptions, aware of all things that arise within our particular field of consciousness, that has no identity itself, for even the idea of our selves can be seen by this clear, primary sense of awareness.  Is this the Actual I? Here on Actuali (previously Actualization Station) we inquire into this mystery of mysteries, to reveal, evermore, the Truth of our being, that we may engage with life most fully, with fluidity, and ease of flow.  We actualize our highest visions of life, and realize the ultimate freedom that is found in non-attachment, and wholly open Hearts capable of the deepest appreciation, and most profound passion. Join us as we change this world from the inside-out!

Ep. 17 - A Worthy Prayer
Welcome to Actuali Podcast (formerly Actualization Station) - A Prayer in Poem: Next Lvl: The path is getting narrow as we come nearer to this peak, this apex/locus of potentials, both majestic and bleak. Will we continue on, after we make this summit, will we take our voices and our hearts with us as we ascend, and rather than fall to one or the other side, could we rise together, transcend that pattern that has pit us against each other, and ourselves for so long? I wonder, and I am full of hope, but I’m not sure that I am hopeful, only that I don’t feel so alone anymore. Yet, the mission remains: to reintegrate, inspire, uplift, empower, and sustain only that which so obviously smacks of wisdom it transforms you, and you are changed. There are times that face us, when a great leap is called for: and we are almost beckoned to by some miracle, arise anew, reborn, reintegrated, and able to earn a way to ascend the next peak, and today we are more connected than ever. If ever there was a time, if ever there was a way, that way is here, and that time is Now! What if we began to work in concert like some mass, great orchestra yet we are also all conductors, each with our unique element to share, to tackle the greatest problems our planet and humanity faces? What if? We got nothing to lose. It’s just an idea.

Ep. 16 - Life as a Canvas
Welcome to Actuali podcast (formerly Actualization Station). We're all artists, creative in myriad ways. We can find home in those most elative moments when we are "lost in the music", the art, the moment, as it pertains to art we create purselves, or find appreciation in. But what if we give no bounds to this experience, none at all, and let our love of giving what is most essential and true from each One of us not be limited to any edge, to any bounds, to stretch out beyond known limits? In this episode we explore this, and inquire into relating points of interest to further elucidate this insight. #potential #limitless #art #actualization #meaning #transcendence

Ep. 15 - On 'Relevance Realization' and 'Shoji'
Welcome to Actuali podcast (formerly Actualization Station).  In this episode, we take a look at a side of being in the world described as "relevance realization", a posture of acceptance to how relevant everything we do really is that I picked up from "Rebel Wisdom" (not Rebel Media! Whoops! Sry guys!) that I find complimentary to the zen term "shoji" points to the finite nature of life, and also expresses the immediate relevance of our individual lives and wider world context we share as a social species. From this persoecive we may see that the most effective way forward must be to be the very change we seek, and to Change this World from the Inside-Out.

Today, we return to the most essential practice of life: the art of meditation, that we may know the truth of who we are, before descriptions and conceptions are built. With our attention on the spacious awareness that all thoughts arise in, the alive nature of this very moment becomes self-evident. Ep. 9 - Building Bridges or Deepening Divides
Includes excerpts from Jordan Peterson & Stephen Fry. In this episode, we consider how contentiously held points of view can contribute to the increasing polarization of our societies. There’s probably many of you out there who are noticing the amount of division in the world today, the fanning of flames apparent on mass media news, as well as on social media feeds. Maybe you’ve been concerned by some of what you’ve seen as well. I would rather see us building bridges than deepening these divides, so in this episode we we explore how we might stand independently and observe as impartially as we are able, both sides of the story, and what’s contributing to this divide. With hope and a bit of consideration, we may see beyond the labels and over-generalizing group distinctions to which we can all fall prey.

Ep. 8 - Bruce Lee & J.K. - Truth is a Pathless Land
In this episode, we explore how the great martial artist, Bruce Lee, was inspired by the writings of J. Krishnamurti. As perhaps the most well-known martial artist the world has ever known, Bruce Lee is credited not only with being instrumental in the popularization of Martial Arts in the West, but with being one of the main influences for the formation of Mixed Martial Arts as it exists today. From interviews of those closest to him, we learn how the writings of J. Krishnamurti were integral to Lee's formation of his Way of No Way philosophy. Ep. 6 - The Direct Path - A Guided Self-Inquiry Meditation
For today’s guided meditation we will practice Self-Inquiry. This technique, also known as the Direct Path, is part of the Advaita-Vedanta non-dual tradition, and was perhaps most clearly expressed by Ramana Maharshi, whose suggested the simple asking of the question, “Who am I?” In describing Self-Inquiry, Ramana once said, “To inquire Who am I is a long liberation, to keep the mind constantly turned within and to inquire thus, in itself is the Atma Vichara of Self-Inquiry.” In this approach to meditation, we are keeping awareness self-directed, but with a slight tweak, we aren’t just being of the sights, sounds, sensations as they’re coming in, we are being aware of awareness itself, while inquiring into who is having this experience. This is the practice of self-inquiry. Ep. 5 - The Potential that Still Exists - Ramana & Krishnamurti
"The recognition of self-transcendence as a stage of human potential beyond self-actualization presents us with a paradoxical solution to the greatest problems humanity faces. It presents us with a way that agrees with that old adage, to change the world, we must first change ourselves. But how to do that? How does one realize self-transcendence? This question sets us up to begin our exploration into the practice of self-inquiry, a technique for examining one’s own nature, which is accomplished through the turning of attention inward, to the sense of being itself." Ep. 3 - Maslow's Missing Piece
In this episode we cover the most integral, yet surprisingly unknown aspect of Abraham Maslow's model for human motivation, most commonly known as the Hierarchy of Needs. Quite intriguingly, there is a stage of human development that goes AFTER Self-Actualization, that is missing from most textbooks and common depictions, and it is INCREDIBLY profound! This highest level of human potential was only added in the final year before Maslow's death. And this will be key to the podcast going forward. This is our first in-depth, pro-quality podcast, and it sets the stage for everything that is to come, so don't miss out on this one! Feel free to share the episode and share your applause (which you can do through the AnchorFM Radio app). We'll take a look at Abraham Maslow's model of the motivation for self-transcendence in human beings: Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, which outlines the stages by which individuals may come to Self-Realization and Self-Actualization. Next episode will continue exploring Maslow's model to more fully understand its stages, and why the final step, Self-Transcendence is missing from most publications. Stay tuned.
