Combining Manifestation With Action To Achieve Your Goals, With Phi Dang

I've teamed up with fellow life coach, manifestation expert and positivity Queen Phi Dang for the ManifestAction series— where we combine the energetics and magic of manifestation with the science and strategy of action to make your life ‘vision board’ a reality! Co-hosted by me, imperfect action coach, productivity author, and Psychology student, Emma Norris and human design life coach, manifestation expert, and positivity queen Phi Dang, we bring together the best of both worlds to help you create a life beyond your wildest dreams. It's not just manifestation and it's not just action — it's manifestaction. Let's do this!

In the very first episode of the ManifestAction post, we're delving into our career journeys, how we came to collaborate and why we believe manifestation and imperfect action is such a powerful combination. We cover:

- What made us both become coaches (hint: we had pretty different paths!)

- What human design is — and why it's useful in manifesting

- How we met and came to collaborate (it involves a TV show, mutual friend, and an Uber)

- What it’s like being a female entrepreneur, particularly when many of your friends aren’t

- Phi’s spiritual journey and discussing life after deep grief

- Emma’s crazy manifestation story involving a famous YouTuber

- Conscious and unconscious manifesting

- A secret about manifesting that will blow your mind

- How to know when to let go in manifestation

- How the universe can surprise you

And so much more!

Overcoming Creative Perfectionism And Writer's Block

Welcome to the Action Taker series! In this 4-part series, we're going to cover how you can get out of your own head and planning mode, and into aligned, imperfect, and consistent action in every area of your life — from your work and business to your wealth, health and relationships.

Kicking us off with this bite-sized episode, we're covering an area where many people struggle with perfectionism, procrastination, and overwhelm — and that's creativity.

As a writer by trade, this is a topic that's very close to my heart! I believe that you don't have to identify as a 'creative' to use your voice. Whether you're a business owner, employee, parent or student, your words are one of the most powerful tools you have, as it can open you up for new opportunities. That said, so many of us can get so stuck in wanting to make every word seem 'perfect.'

But in this episode, I'm sharing three of my top strategies for overcoming creative perfectionism, breaking through writer’s block and getting that content out into the world. Those words will be flowing effortlessly onto the page before you know it!

The 20 Biggest Lessons 2020 Has Taught Me

The 20 Biggest Lessons 2020 Has Taught Me

Procrastinator to Action Taker -> procrastinatortoactiontaker.showit.site/

Like most people, 2020 has been a tumultuous year for me — both personally and professionally (and, of course, on a worldwide scale) Through all the ups and downs, it's taught me a lot about myself and the world around me. In this solo episode, I share 20 lessons this crazy year has taught me. I hope in sharing these, you'll be able to apply some of them to your own life, too — or even just reflect on the lessons you've learned this year. It's also my last episode for 2020, so thank you for an amazing year and I'll see you in 2021!

Here are the 20 lessons, if you'd like to revisit them:

1. You can't control everything

2. My work doesn't define my worth

3. It's the small moments that make up a big life

4. Reaching your goals won't change who you are as a person

5. The best type of pants are stretchy pants!

6. It's never too late or early to change your path

7. I am not my thoughts

8. You never know who's watching what you're doing - so keep going!

9. It's okay to cry, but it MAY give you a headache

10. Mindset matters in business

11. New Girl is actually a hilarious show

12. Boundaries are a 2-way street

13. We are co-creating every interaction

14. Just like all dogs are cute, all humans are beautiful

15. Everyone's experience of the world is different

16. Saying 'no' makes space for the 'hell yeses'

17. Accountability is everything when it comes to sticking to habits

18. You can't get too attached to the outcome of goals

19. Criticism is a natural part of creating

20. Everyone has to start somewhere

Why You Need To Do Hard Things For An Easy Life

Why You Need To Do Hard Things For An Easy Life

Procrastinator to Action Taker -> procrastinatortoactiontaker.showit.site/

In this solo episode, I give you a pep talk on why in order to live a life of freedom, comfort and ease — you need to first face some discomfort. Inspired by a TikTok by motivational speaker Jay Alderton, this is the idea that doing hard things leads to an easy life...while doing easy things leads to (you guessed it!) a hard life. And because I know nobody actually *enjoys* doing uncomfortable things, I've also included 3 practical tips for incorporating this into your life in a relatively pain-free way.

Is Multitasking Really The Enemy?

Is Multitasking Really The Enemy?

Procrastinator to Action Taker -> procrastinatortoactiontaker.showit.site/

Multitasking gets a bad rap and honestly, it's not hard to see why! It splits our focus, keeps us distracted and makes it impossible to get into a  state of flow (the holy grail of productivity!) But, is multitasking always the bad guy, or can it actually be helpful when it comes to getting certain tasks done? In this solo episode, I make the case for multitasking to fit more into your day. Plus, when it's wise to multitask, and when you should stick to monotasking instead. Note: This is an episode from the archives, from back when the podcast was the A Day In Progress podcast. So, if I reference A Day In Progress, that's why! Is Perfectionism Causing Your Procrastination Habit?

Is Perfectionism Causing Your Procrastination Habit?

Procrastinator to Action Taker -> procrastinatortoactiontaker.showit.site/

In this solo ep, I'm delving into the link between perfectionism and procrastination. Because, while many people believe that procrastination is caused by just 'being lazy' it's often actually a coping mechanism to resist fear — whether that's fear of discomfort, fear of failure or fear of making a mistake. It's for this reason perfectionists can be biggest procrastinators at all! Tune in for the 4 biggest signs that perfectionism is the hidden saboteur behind your procrastination habit.
