Jake Berry of 956 Preps joins the show for the entire episode as we interview Harlingen High Head Coach Manny Gomez, Weslaco East's Mike Burget, and Rio Grande City Head Coach Leo Mireles.
We chat about their upcoming match-ups and what it meant to tall of them getting a district title, the first for Mike Burget as a head coach, the first for Rio Grande City since the 80s and Harlingen's first in three seasons.
Jake and ADB also discuss all the match-ups and get you ready for the Bi-District Round.

Week 11 - Lupe Rodriguez - PSJA High School Bears
#RGVFootball has reached the end of the regular season and there is still A LOT to be decided in terms of seeding and district championships. Alex Del Barrio once again sits down with Jake Berry of 956 Preps to talk about everything football in Week 11 and break down the upsets in Week 10 that saw PSJA knock off Mission and Palmview sneak past Mission Veterans.
In the final Coach's corner interview we chat with Mission Quarterbacking legend and current PSJA Bears Head Coach Lupe Rodriguez. We talk about the incredible 1987 season for him and Nati Valdez and Frank Hernandez. Week 10 - Ron Adame - Sharyland High Rattlers
It is week 10 in #RGVFootball and the playoff races are heating up. It is officially RIVALRY WEEK. From the Tinaco Bowl, to the Bird Bowl to Mission v. PSJA High. The match-ups are as exciting as ever.
Jake Berry of 956Preps joins the show to break thing down after Week 9 and look ahead to some of these big match-ups.
This week's interview is with Sharyland High Head Coach Ron Adame. In his sitdown with Alex Del Barrio, Coach Adame discusses his ascension to the Sharyland head job after being a long time assistant. He also chats about his love of boxing and his journey into becoming one of the most respected head coaches in the region.

Week Eight - Koy Detmer - Mission High School Eagles
The 4th Quarter of the Regular Season begins this week as we hit Week 8 and every team is now in district play with 16-4A Division II getting started this week.
#RGVFootball is getting more and more interesting and 956Preps' Jake Berry drops in again with Alex Del Barrio to discuss where we are at after seven weeks and discuss teams bit by the injury bug, who is in position for the playoff spots in 30-6A and which teams need to win to stay in the race for a playoff spot.
In the Coach's Corner segment ADB sits down with #TXHSFB legend and Mission High School head coach Koy Detmer. ADB and Detmer discuss his time in high school leading the 1990 Eagles to the UIL State Final Four, being a part of coaching royalty in the Detmer family, playing in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles, his infamous TD celebration and taking the reigns of his alma mater for his first head coaching job.

Week Seven - Mark Guess - Brownsville Hanna Golden Eagles
We have hit Week 7 of #RGVFootball and the playoff races are shaking out in some districts and for 32-6A it's the opening week of conference play. They kick it off with a bang with the annual Battle of the Arroyo at Boggus Stadium.
Jake Berry of 956Preps and ADB discuss a week that saw several teams lose key players to injury, they look at how good the La Feria Lions actually are regardless of classification and look ahead to an important week of games in several key districts.
In the Coach's Corner segment this week's guest is Mark Guess of Brownsville Hanna. ADB and Coach Guess chat about his early career in West Oso. His time as the equipment director at Texas A&I as a student and his incredible history making season as the head coach at Hanna in 2018.

Week Six - Tom Lee - Sharyland Pioneer Diamondbacks
Most of #RGVFootball has started district play and the excitement has kicked up a notch. That excitement extends to this week's episode of Spiked! with ADB
Jake Berry of 956 Preps and Alex Del Barrio discuss what we know now after five weeks and breakdown the impressive win by Mission over McAllen Memorial, a re-shuffling of the potential playoff teams in 16-5A Division I and ask the question just how good is La Feria compared to the RGV regardless of the classification.
In the coach's corner segment we chat with Pioneer head coach Tom Lee. We discuss his perseverance throughout his life and career. In the interview ADB asks Lee about moving to the Rio Grande Valley with his father who took over the reigns at Mission High, losing his father to cancer in high school, following in his coaching footsteps and battling health issues to step back on the sidelines with the Diamondbacks.

Week Five - David Cantu - Brownsville Veterans Memorial Chargers
We are at the virtual halfway point of the #RGVFootball regular season and with 30-6A, 31-6A, and 16-5A I all starting district play, ADB and Jake have a ton to discuss with some crucial match-ups taking place this week.
Jake Berry of 956 Preps and ADB discuss what we know now after four weeks, which teams can contend for a playoff spot, and what teams will be left in the cold as the season moves forward.
The duo will also chat about the big match-up in the 30-6A opener between Mission High and McAllen Memorial.
This week's 1-on-1 guest is Brownsville Veterans Memorial Head Coach David Cantu. A Valley native with Los Fresnos ties, Cantu shares some personal stories including his time as a science teacher, his battle with cancer at a young age, coaching under Scott Ford and his unique coaching style. We also get into his love of the Houston Astros and what it's like having a legendary RGV Head Coach Dave Evans on his staff.

We have reached Week 4 and after several RGV teams were taken off the list of unbeatens we have a clearer picture at who the top teams in the Rio Grande Valley are in 2019.
In the 5th Quarter Segment ADB connect with 956Prep's Jake Berry about the state of the RGV QB, the impressive wins by McAllen Memorial over Vela, Pioneer's signature win over Mission High and more.
ADB and Jake will also discuss some of the best games on a slightly abbreviated Week Four as all of District 30-6A takes a bye before they begin District Play in Week 5.

Special Edition of Spiked! on Friday the 13th. We caught up with Dave Campbell's Texas Football Insider Matt Stepp in Harlingen as he makes his annual weekend trip to the Rio Grande Valley.
You'll learn that Stepper actually has a day job, but still has time to be a major contributor to The Bible of Texas Football.
We will discuss how he got into the business and how he was a "Message Board Guy" before there was social media. We also discuss his thoughts on the progression of RGV football, Landry Gilpin winning Mr. Texas Football in 2018, and his extensive ballcap collection.
In the first segment I have some post game comments from AJ Gonzaque and David Gilpin after the Mission Veterans win over Brownsville Veterans.
Week Three - Mike Evans- PSJA Southwest Javelinas
We hit the make-shift quarter pole of the Texas High School Football Season with Week Three. District 16-5A Division 1 has had its first week of district play and there are some surprises in the standings after Week Two.
In the 5th Quarter Segment, ADB connects with 956Prep's Jake Berry with an extended segment discussing the remaining unbeatens (and how many of them are from the same 6A district.
The duo will also discuss the Week Three match-ups including the big games between Brownsville Veterans and Mission Veterans and McAllen Memorial vs. Edinburg Vela

Week One of RGV High School Football is in the books and there were plenty of surprises and fantastic match-ups in the first weekend.

This week's 1-on-1 interview takes us to Bobcat country in Edinburg where ADB sits down with Edinburg High School Head Football Coach JJ Leija. The longtime RGV football assistant and baseball coach took over his alma mater four years ago and has led the 'Cats to the playoffs for three straight years. JJ talks to us about taking over his alma mater as his first head coaching job, what it means to bring the Bobcats back to respectability, and what he learned coaching under names like Bruce Bush, Freddy Hernandez and Oscar Salinas.
