S2 Ep. 22 Fossil Myths Pt 2
Maddie & Tucker are back with rusty voices from their wedding reception hiatus with an exploration of fossil mythology from India and the Himalayas. They dive deep into the significance of ammonites (and their influence in Pokemon development). Nagas come into play as well, with their mythically jeweled and crested skulls. Finally, they conclude with the battlefields of the Mahabharata--the ancient Indian epic where two groups of cousins - the Pandavas and Kauravas -battle for the throne of Hastinapura in the Kurukshetra War. Fossils discovered around the Siwalik Hills may have influenced the mythology of this great epic.  If you have any myths, stories, ghost stories, hauntings, questions, suggestions, feedback, corrections, or if you would like to become a sponsor for future episodes please email us at : addstoryteller@gmail.com

Ep 10. American Indigenous Gender Anthology
Welcome to episode 10! A milestone that we don't mention or celebrate in the episode. Today, Maddie dives into the sacred stories that give certain two-spirit identities in American First Nation tribes their place in tribal society. Though there are many identities that fall under the umbrella term of "two-spirit", we focus today mainly on the Hawaiian Māhū, the Diné Nadleehi, the Cree's multiple animate identities, and the Zuni civilizations. The episode begins with a definitional segment on two-spiritedness today.  Thanks so much for being with us for 10 episodes! Ep. 2 Japanese Spirit Foxes (Kitsune & Inari)
This episode covers Japanese spirit foxes: the inari & the kitsune. Inari foxes are messengers of the rice deity, Inari. We spend a majority of our time on the kitsune, as they are much more mischievous. They can transform, bend time & space, create fire & illusions, and other such things at the expense of other animals and people. The conversation then goes into some of the cultural quirks foxes have inspired in Japan, and the origin of the famous "moshi-moshi" answer to a phone call. Ep. 1 Changelings
Join your neurodivergent host, Maddie, & her cohost, Tucker, on this careening journey talking about Changeling folktales: a fairy substitute for a person that the fairies had abducted and either replaced with their own stock, or with a lump of wood. Changelings were notable for their inhuman intelligence and ability, large appetites, mischievousness, and ungovernable spirits. Many methods are used to get the "real child" back from the fairies. The conversation then turns to medical history speculation, vaccines, and autism in relation to changeling lore.  If you have any myths, stories, ghost stories, hauntings, questions, suggestions, feedback, corrections, or if you would like to become a sponsor for future episodes please email us at : addstoryteller@gmail.com *trigger warning* : This episode contains reference to true crime events of child and domestic abuse, in relation to the myths covered.  Resources for Autistic Folks: Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN) provides support, community, and public policy advocacy, by and for people on the autism spectrum. autisticadvocacy.org Autistic Women & Nonbinary Network (AWN) seeks to share information which works to build acceptance and understanding of disability, while dispelling stereotypes and misinformation which perpetuate unnecessary fears surrounding an autism diagnosis. awnnetwork.org Self Advocates Becoming Empowered (SABE) works to ensure that people with disabilities are treated as equals and are given the same decisions, choices, rights, responsibilities, and chance to speak up to empower themselves as everyone else. sabeusa.org
