ADHD or ADD! What do you think of when you hear those terms? Does the word Mishgoss pop into your head? Mishegoss, Yiddish for insane, madness, and crazy. Sometimes those terms define your feelings when you live with ADHD. Patti and I try to help make these feelings make sense by talking about our own experiences living with ADHD. We're the UNCOLA of content. We're unedited, unscripted, & refreshingly real. We're real people talking about real-life issues living with ADHD, from family to business and everything in between.

Time frames don't always work for people with ADHD, at least they don't for me if I haven't set them. I always allow myself time for interruptions & ADHD/ADD moments. How about you? Here are some thoughts on that. Plus please listen to tomorrow's podcast for a very important announcement.
Homework, Testing, & Writing isn’t easy. It takes concentration, and time. One thing I can tell you is it takes more time, and concentration when you have ADHD or ADD. Make sure to sign up n WhatPods to keep up to date with us, contact us and help us grow!
It’s that time of year when we can forget things that matter to us and others. It happens. It’s stressful enough right now without remembering little things. But, those little things to us re much bigger to others.. So this is a friendly reminder for the giving inside of each and everyone one of you.
Lots of thinking and wondering today while with the Grandkids. It opened my eyes again to how much ADHD affects our lives. Also I’m trying to improve our sound quality for you. Let us know.
The straight thinking part of the podcast I’m pretty sure about, but when it comes to the 8 ways to help with stress during the holidays there’s a bunch of ??? I found this article in the Huffington Post. Here what I think!
It’s that time! Time to start thinking about the new year and changes you want to make. I believe our changes should be a revolution rather than a resolution. You should listen in to find out why!
I am all over the map today with topics. As usual there was so much more to talk about, but I saved it for later this week. Gifts and kids is a stressing time. Planning and commitments is also stressing especially this time of year. Hear what I’ve done right and wrong with all of them.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Today being a weird Wednesday for me I just talked about life moments that I tend to deal with. I also talked about a newsletter and podcast I enjoy called Inside Podcasting with a great host, Skye Pillsbury. Check the podcast and newsletter out now & subscribe.
Ever see inside the brain of a person with ADHD? I don’t mean the actual picture of their brain, I’m talking about the thinking part. We’ll come inside!
I know I’ve talked about this before, but after this past weekend I felt it needed to be touched on again. Even if it was just for me to get rid of some stress about the weekend!
I never gave any thought to being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. I take it for granted being diagnosed at a young age. After reading a post yesterday on Medium about a 32-year-old women being diagnosed recently it made me think. Listen in.
There’s going to come a time when your ADHD is going to explode and you’ll lash out at the wrong person for the wrong reason. It’s bound to happen if it hasn’t already. But, there’s no need to fret. No need for more anxiety for you or someone else. Just learn to say 3 words. I Am Sorry.
I’ve talked about this topic before, but I felt it needed to be addressed once again. I even write about this topic today in Medium at medium.com/markjohn1. Check it out.
Bored with the same routine over and over? I watched kids today deal with that for 2 hours. There were great things going on, but the needed more variety. Just like we all do.
I’ve been trough the mill when it comes to being taught and being the teacher. I don’t always recommend a trick of mine, but for getting better at comprehension I’ll bet this trick I was taught as a kid and still use to this day will help!
There comes a time when you just need to talk things through before you decide. Usually it’s talking to yourself and even answering yourself. Does this make us crazy as some would say? He’ll NO, I say. It makes us creative and excited.
Let’s be honest, stuff happens. Stuff happens that distracts you from doing what you need to do like yesterday for me. I didn't podcast due to other things going on around me. It wasn't anyone's fault but my own. Then there is stuff that happens when you're trying to teach your kids something or explaining something to your significant other or friend. Stuff happens. Listen in for more stuff that just happened to me recently.
We’re back talking about ADHD & relationships. Being more open about how you think/ work helps others understand you and have patience to listen. It really is important to better relations with others.
This is an important podcast today. It’s time to discuss the other side of ADHD. The down side or dark side of living with ADHD. It’s not meant to stress you out, but rather get you in the correct frame of mind when having to deal with it.
Relationships have their own set of rules that sometimes can be stressful. Add in ADHD and everything turns up about 100 notches. Between today and tomorrow we’re going to touch on a load of feelings and thoughts on relationships.
It’s that time of year when even without having adhd anxiety builds up by the day and hour. Listen in for more. Plus over the next month or so we’ll talk about ways to deal with that anxiety.
It’s not a walk in the park being a student with ADHD/ADD. Schools and teachers follow a curriculum that isn’t sensitive to ADHD. They tend to label us as having a learning issue when in reality it’s the way we learn more then anything else. Listen in for more.
It isn’t easy for anyone to balance work & life, but it’s definitely harder for people with ADHD. I’ve asked a lot of people with and without ADHD and from the answers I’ve heard it seems I’m on the right track. So listen in.
How often do you blame ADHD for something happening in your life? It could be good or bad but mostly we all have blamed ADHD for the bad stuff. It’s time to stop the blame. It’s time to understand ADHD isn’t to blame.
Is there anything wrong with being a little mischievous? Kids do it why can't adults? Why do we blame ADHD on us or our kids being a little mischievous? There's nothing wrong with it. We should be more mischievous in life. Kids learn from it. Kids expand their horizons from it so why not us? Shouldn't we dare the exciting once in a while? There's something do it I believe and there's no blaming ADHD or ADD. You could I guess, but why?
I'm not sure downfall is the word I'm looking for? It's all about creativity overload and losing ideas. You need to have a way of capturing those creative ideas when they come. You need to keep them in a file for the days that ADHD gets you down. Listen in for more.
I love being creative, but there are times when my creativity takes a dump due to my ADHD. those are the times I try to remember that ADHD is not the stumbling block, but the avenue to overcome that block.
I know it looks like I made a mistake with the title, right? I didn’t. Believe me. This podcast is about living, dealing, accepting life with ADHD. Of course we look at the dark side also.
I’m not for or against medication. It’s really up to you to decide. No one is a textbook case. Don’t let Doctors dictate to you. Make your own decisions.
Listening to a speaker or reading a textbook can be mind boggling with ADHD. I’ve found keying in on one aspect or thought of the speaker or the text the easiest way to comprehend all of it.
ADHD gives being an entrepreneur a different set of rules. Thrown away are one idea is great. Thrown away that ideas don’t change. Thrown away are all the guidelines written for entrepreneurs. Give a listen.
How often do you get confused? Ever try a To-Do List? They don’t work for me. I just get more confused. Then there The I Did List. More confusion if you ask me. Listen in on what I do.
Ever have those days when procrastination is a better friend then getting things done? With ADHD you have all the ammunition to accomplish that. Here's a story about today that you might enjoy and relate to. Enjoy the listen.
If it hasn't to you yet, one day it will. The phone rings and there's an issues at home or work. Then someone wants to tell you about something. Then there's a text about a problem. Whatever else can come your way it does and they all need an answer. What do you do? If it's up to your ADHD it isn't helping you out of this one. No tips or tricks are working so you just give up. Has that ever happened? Give a listen to what I've tried.
Did you know there are two types of anxiety? You probably did, but if not let me tell you. Good and bad anxiety lives in each of us and it all depends on how you use both of them that makes our life with ADHD livable. Listen in for more on this.

Show Note: I found this podcast just a little while ago. It had never been published so I thought I would publish it today. Hope you don't mind?
Sometimes it’s all about the wording that inspires us. I’m not sure, but this idea has worked for me and others. It’s 2018 and I’m on a kick about listening. So listen in!
For me habits/routines are important in keeping my ADHD on a semi normal track. One change in a habit/routine will not only change the day, but it’ll throw my ADHD brain into a tail spin. How about you?
Are you compulsive about scheduling everything you do daily? Do you feel it’s needed to help control your ADHD? Everyone I’ve talked with has a different approach to this topic. Listen to mine and share yours by leaving a message.
It happens to us all the time. Our brain fills up. We consume so much that our brain on ADHD starts to short circuit. We stress over deadlines and more. That’s the time to walk away. Listen in.
As if we don’t have enough to deal with daily between work, kids, school, or whatever. Now we add social media to the mix. How does that affect your ADHD?
Thoughts ramble on. Your mind is cloudy yet full of ideas. Do you ever have those moments? I do constantly. That’s why we’re talking about thinking today!
The skill of listening is one that many don’t practice. It’s not easy to be a good listener in the first place, but add ADHD to that and it’s almost impossible. But, it can be done. Listen in.
There’s a great deal of help out there from psychiatrist to snake oil salespeople. In the end the help you need the most is within. You just need to find it, define it, and use it.
Do you have any fears related to your ADHD? Fears like telling others you have ADHD or fears of what it does to you? Listen in for more fears we all may have.
When your ADHD/ADD acts up do you feel crowded? Maybe you feel invaded by people in your space? It could even be your computer or the chair your sitting it? That’s when it’s time to make space. Listen in for how I deal with this!
We all have skills. Some were great at and others no so great. With ADHD it’s good to know which ones are your best. This means taking an inventory of all your skills and defining them.
Yes there’s more. Here’s a few ideas for you to consider. Plus we want you to share your ideas so we can put all of them together for a possible ebook on Overcoming Obstacles
There’s no set way to overcome obstacles that I can tell you about. Each of us must find what works for us. This is what works for me. It can be used as a guide to help you find a way if you haven’t, but don’t expect my system to work for you. We are all different. Find your way.
Writing with ADHD can get frustrating. At least it does for me, but then there are times when my journaling when having an ADHD moment helps me later on. How about you? Do you write down ADHD moments and how you worked around them for future info?
Does your ADHD control your mornings, afternoons, or evenings? Think about it and how you deal with it. There are no right or wrong answer. Just answers that work for you!
What color is your ADHD? I was asked this years ago by a shrink who was studying me for a report. The answer I gave shocked him. Listen in for more! Also let us know your thoughts on colors!
Work and ADHD can be a challenge. Today while babysitting grandkids and working on our newsletter my ADHD kicked in hard. Listen in on how I dealt with it!
We have a new podcast starting today called Califirnia Mishegoss. It’s an audio version of our newsletter we publish 3 days a week. Check it out here on Anchor and at http://californiamishegoss.com.
Are you in sales? Do you consider yourself a salesperson? Truth is we’re all salespeople in our own unique way. Check out the newsletter Woolgathering by Mike Sturm.
We make them. Maybe not often, but we all make a stupid mistake once or more in our lives. The question is how we can make changes so we don’t make them over and over!
Life is full of twists and turns and we always need to be ready to adapt. The thing is we are not always ready at the moment we need to be. Hopefully through stories of my past and times I needs to face those twists and turns I can guide you through a few ways to make those changes easier.
That’s right! Very simple and down to earth, Be You! It’s a mindset. It’s a way of life. It’s simple, real, and honest. Here’s the link for Mike Sturm’s article on hustle. Read it. https://link.medium.com/rsg9zCuw7T.
Yes! We’re back as Mentors at Fresno State EMP program and Patti & I couldn’t be happier. Listen in for the update and a little bit on elevator pitches.
That’s right. Start right now while you’re listening to this podcast. Don’t waste a second on ideas. Start the process of turning ideas into realities.
It happens to us all. One day we’re on top of the world and the next day the world is on top of us. It’s nothing new nor something to cry about. That’s when it’s time to define why.
From all of us here at Clauseville, including me Santa, Mrs. Clause and our extended family. Let that little bit of Santa come shining through now and throughout next year!
Some days you need to dump what’s in your brain so you can reload. This isn’t the same as refreshing. This is like clearing your hard drive. Deleting those unused or un-needed files. Listen in for more.
In this day and age kids take things for granted almost all the time. There’s nothing wrong with giving to our kids or grandkids. There’s nothing wrong with wanting the best for both, but when we’re gone how will they deal with reality that money/gifts don’t just fall from the skies?
Ah! The joy of life. Simple to think about, but tough to handle. Listen in for some ideas on that. Plus the 1 more thing requires some thought and comment.
There comes a time when you need to work on a project whether personal or in business that has a deadline. You have a certain way of doing things that others may not understand. This is where transparency come into play. Listen in.
Your resume does great things for you like give facts and figures, former jobs and much more, but it still doesn’t give the information about you! You have to do that.
The one thing I tell people when they are trying to advance in their careers or push a new product or idea is to know how to market yourself first. Listen in for more details.
Everyone has a great way to be successful, but it won't necessarily work for you because of your DNA. Be yourself. Take in what you hear and use it to build your way of doing things. Just don't get sold on their way to doing things. It may not work and that leads to...
It isn't just about presenting the positives and the negatives. It's how you present them to the person or people so that they take away your message and hold on to it and practice it.
Here’s a great exercise for you. Define health as it relates to life, Business, and finances. We already know what health is when it comes to health, but how do you define health in the other 3 categories?
ADHD & depression. Lots of people don’t think they go together, but they do. I’ve spent a ton of time researching and understanding how they go hand in hand and would enjoy sharing that with you over the next few shows.
Wanted to take a few minutes to pay my respect to Tony Bourdain who I worked with back in the early 70’s. Plus I wanted to cover a little more on spontaneity and change.
My best advice I ever received was this, Be Yourself! Never oversell yourself or your business. Tell it like it is and you will be respected for your honesty. You may not always get what you want right then and there, but in the end, you will. Be Yourself!
It’s all about what and how you tweet or use social media. It’s easy to rant , but difficult to recant. Along with this, isn’t this why we hire coaches?
We’re trying something new on Fridays. It’s called Mishegoss Friday’s. A podcast where I talk about anything bugging me or I want to talk about. You can be part of it by suggesting topics.
It isn’t easy. We often forget about our own well being, but that’s not a good thing. Defining your goals is the first step in taking care of yourself.
Due to a mess up on my part I have to re-edit the interview and I’ll post it Friday. Sorry! Although I have more on obstacles today and I did a quick review of today’s newsletter.
Instead of just telling you how, I’m inviting you into my building of a Following for this podcast and the newsletter. We’ll be spending a couple of days a week talking my process for both. You’re welcome to call in and be part of the show.
We have changes coming to the newsletter at http://it’sallmishegoss.com. Plus as much as there is crap going on in the world of politics don’t think life or business hasn’t the same of its own. Listen in for the details.
Mike is the writer and publisher of a great newsletter called California Sun. Want to know what’s up in the Golden State? Then check this newsletter out. While there make sure you subscribe. It’s free on top of giving you great insight.
Perseverance. What is it? Do you have it? Can you find it if you don’t have it? Over the next few days we’ll be answering these questions and more so tune in!

When it comes to the choice of no or yes you need to look at how they will affect you as well as will they affect you. Will they affect a business or personal decision? Will they affect something within the family? It's important to understand their differences and using them at the right times.
When it comes to Habits and success there’s no magic number of habits that equal success. No matter what you read about “the 5 habits that made Warren Buffett, Richard Branson and others successful” it doesn’t mean that number will work for you. Listen in to learn more! Here's the link I promised: https://www.thriveglobal.com/stories/27206-5-daily-habits-that-successful-people-have-which-most-of-us-probably-don-t?utm_source=Thrive&utm_medium=newsletter&mc_cid=cb0614e2d0&mc_eid=9f843a909a
Here we go. We’re digging into our first habit breaker. Hope you enjoy. Why not call in with a habit you want to break? Or write in at markjohn1@mac.com. Attention it Habits. It can be anonymous or not and I’ll answer it on the next show and via email.
Where going to spend some time this week talking Habits and changing them. If you have changed a habit in the past or want to change a habit now call in. This is the show to help. Plus it’s free!
We’re surrounded by obstacles in our lives. How we overcome them is key. There is no sure fire way to overcome every obstacle, but there are some good ways to keep a door open. Listen in today and for the next few days for more insight.
Starting is always the hardest part. But, it only takes one thing to start anything. You just need to find that one thing. Listen in to my thoughts and share yours.
You don’t need to wake before sunrise to be motivated or successful. You just need to want it. Whatever time you start your day is only important to you and your success. Don’t let others tell you how. Just do you!
Do you ever wonder how to light that fire either in you or someone else? Do you rely on motivational speakers to do it for you? Why when you could do it yourself and do it better? Listen in for more!
Don’t miss out on being happy. Don’t miss the opportunity you can give yourself to be happy & successful. It’s yours for the taking. Just grab it and go with it.
What happened to saying of writing “you’re welcome?” Seems other words like “no worries”or “ sure thing” are more in vogue. So, what are your thoughts on this and what do you say or write when you hear “thank you?”
Are you judgemental? If not now maybe in the past? Have you been judged? How did it feel? This judgemental thing just happened to me and it made me reflect on myself being judgemental.
When it comes to writers block I don’t have an issue. When it comes to writing I do. I know some of the reasoning, but not all. Have a listen and let me know. #ADHD #writing
I want to make this podcast about you the listener. To do that I took 5minutes today to give you a little background on me and what I can talk about. You just need to figure what you want?
We’re back. Happy New Year and welcome back to another year of It’s All Mishegoss. We have new stuff planned for 2018 along with repeats of last years topics. So tune in, share, and be informed.
The right type of questions will help you to be a better listener. Questions that are conversational rather than probing will help you to listen better. Try it!
Today I shared an idea of where I’d like this podcast, newsletter, and future website to go in the future. I believe there’s a place in everyone’s Lifestyle for Mishegoss and I want to bring it to you. Any ideas you want to share on what you’d like to see are welcome.
If you want to listen better, then listen to this now. 2018 is the year to bring listening back. Want to join the listening revolution? It’s time. We need to bring the art and skill if listening back. Why not join us now?
It’s early I know, but I thought I’d give you a simple resolution for 2018. Become a Better Listener. Sounds simple right? It’s not. Over the next few weeks I’m going to give you some ideas on how to become a Better Listener in preparation for your 2018 resolution.
Today is a little self promotion time. It’s all about our newsletter It’s All Mishegoss. I’m working on subscribers and am inviting you to sign up. It’s free, informative, and it only comes once a week on Sunday.
What is your bad day of the week? Monday, Tuesday, or another? Today I tell about a friends thoughts and my personal thoughts on this. Would enjoy hearing your stories!
A little more insight into succeeding by being you. I wanted to add a little more to the other day. Plus I talk about cooking and my food/recipe publication on Medium, Imperfect Recipes of the World.
Success isn’t something you need gurus for. You can find success within without the help of these self help gurus. Half the time it doesn’t work anyway. Your DNA is totally different. Remember you have success within. You just need to find it and harness it.
It can be good or bad, but I bet there is one thing that happens daily that either annoys you then or later. And, if it doesn’t happen your day is off! What is that one thing?
Is quality better than quantity content when building an audience? Is it better to be known as a quality content provider rather than a quantity provider? Thoughts? Listen in now!
While cooking today I thought of all the habits I have that go along with my cooking. Habits like organization of what I need to cook to writing on my food publication Imperfect Recipes on Medium. Com
Habits, especially bad ones are meant to be broken. Listen in as I talk about good and bad habits. I share some examples from a class I gave on habits.
Do you write to please others or yourself? Do you love writing? If you’re like me I love to write. If I make mistakes I don’t worry about it. It’s about getting my thoughts & feelings out. Just Write!
It’s a Monday and it’s my day to ask for help from you. I’m juggling ideas in my head about this podcast and my newsletter. Listen and give me some answers please!
Pet Sounds by Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys holds a special place in my life. It’s what helped me along with visualization to control my ADHD. It also helped with listening.
Speaking with your audience rather than to or at your audience makes the difference of them retaining the information presented. Whether it’s a sales pitch, or business pitch, or something else.
When it comes to timing it’s all about reaction vs thinking. What comes first for you? Are you a thinker first or do you react first! Would enjoy hearing your thinking or reactions to this podcast
Our newsletter is published twice a week. We try to cover the stories you may not have read or heard about, but should know about. We don’t spam. We are sponsor free and so is the newsletter. Try us
ADHD is a gift. Like any gift you need to accept it, embrace it, and use it for it to help. ADHD won’t make you a leader or rich. You do that through ADHD. Listen in.
Wouldn’t you like to know more about that newsletter your thinking about signing up for? Knowing what you’re in for if you sign up? Would a web app that’s able to give you insight be worth it to you?
Journaling is a great way of keeping track of your life. It’s great for keeping you in check. It helps to balance Life both at home and work. It’s usually hard to start, but listen in for some tips.
Are you a minimalist? Is there a part of your life where you practice it? I did for many years then got away from it and now started rethinking it. What’s your take?
I’m spending more time on the Mentoring technique because I feel it’s important to have the correct mindset about mentoring. Plus I’m talking about the hustle and slowing down a little.
I have ADHD and I’m not broken. Never have been and never will be. This rant is to support a post on Facebook by my friend Peter Shankman, who like me believes ADHD is a gift. It truly is!
How do you turn a bad day around? Mindfulness is my trick. Have you tried it? Check out my friend Mike Sturm for his newsletter and post about mindfulness at http:// mikesturm.net.
Hurricane Irma has struck. Stay safe if you’re hanging in there. Spaghetti sauce and cooking in general makes me think. So I reflected more on Mentoring.
For the most part change is Good. I’m not saying it’s good all the time, but there’s even an argument for that. “When you come to a fork in the road, take it”. Yogi Berra
I met Walter Becker when I was a financial consultant. While he never became a client he would call for advice here and there over a 3-4 year period. He was. Down to earth, real guy. Listen in.
As you grow older I want to you to consider your concerns. I’m sure you have a few? Also start looking at the personal side of business more than the business side of personal. It’ll change your view
Motivation is inside. You have the motivation you need. What you need to do is identify it, develop it, and use it. Simple right? Not always. Listen in for more.
It’s Monday just another day, right? You may not be thinking like that, but it is just another day. Don’t let a Monday get you down. You own it. Make it your Monday.
What’s your deal for Sunday? Do you review last week and prepare for the coming week? What happened to family Sunday’s? What about rest and relaxation? Let me know how you do Sunday?
Ideas are not a dime a dozen. They’re worth their weight in gold and should be treated that way. Don’t throw a good idea away. Save it for the future or share it. Maybe something will come of it?
It’s the first day of school for my grandkids. This means that myself and the parents are also back to school as we are their homeschool instructors. They attend charter school so we fill in.
Listening is the sum of everything in life. You can be motivated, you can have a great attitude, and you can accept change, but without being able to listen none of that matters.
Have you ever made an ass of yourself? It happens and you just need to deal and move on. I did it yesterday. Today I corrected it and would enjoy if you listened in.
Why did you do that? That’s the thought for today. Apply that question to business, social, and personal aspects of your life. Ask it for a few days or even longer.
To do or not to do. It isn’t a question anymore. Try a What’s Done list instead. Think attitude in bettering yourself. Forget multiple steps, just deal with one, attitude. The rest will come together
ADHD is a gift. I like being never without an idea. Although it can get confusing sometimes. In general I control it. Yesterday I didn’t and never completed my talk on why I Podcast. I did today
Mishegoss is more than insanity and madness. It’s about motivation, change, and more. Today And over the next few days I bring it together. Even throwing in some science behind pitching an investor.
It’s time to commit to Anchor. So this past week I made the switch. Motivation to podcast more helped to make this change. On another note I’m talking about business plans also.
It's about changes. It's about motivation.

It's the special edition of It's All Mishegoss I promised. What's special you assk? Glad you asked!
Starting next week, June 5th to be exact.
Daily podcast from me about life, health, business, parenting (The Life of Papa), politics and tech. Should be interesting, right? At the very least entertaining.
So kick back, tune in and don't get caught at work listening if that's where you listen.
Thanks
