It’s that time of year when we can forget things that matter to us and others. It happens. It’s stressful enough right now without remembering little things. I never gave any thought to being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. I take it for granted being diagnosed at a young age. After reading a post yesterday on Medium about a 32-year-old women being diagnosed recently it made me think. Listen in.
There’s going to come a time when your ADHD is going to explode and you’ll lash out at the wrong person for the wrong reason. It’s bound to happen if it hasn’t already. But, there’s no need to fret. No need for more anxiety for you or someone else. Just learn to say 3 words. I Am Sorry.
I’ve been trough the mill when it comes to being taught and being the teacher. I don’t always recommend a trick of mine, but for getting better at comprehension I’ll bet this trick I was taught as a kid and still use to this day will help!
There comes a time when you just need to talk things through before you decide. Usually it’s talking to yourself and even answering yourself. Does this make us crazy as some would say? He’ll NO, I say. It makes us creative and excited.
Let’s be honest, stuff happens. Stuff happens that distracts you from doing what you need to do like yesterday for me. I didn't podcast due to other things going on around me. It wasn't anyone's fault but my own. Then there is stuff that happens when you're trying to teach your kids something or explaining something to your significant other or friend. Stuff happens. This is an important podcast today. It’s time to discuss the other side of ADHD. The down side or dark side of living with ADHD. It’s not meant to stress you out, but rather get you in the correct frame of mind when having to deal with it.
Relationships have their own set of rules that sometimes can be stressful. Add in ADHD and everything turns up about 100 notches. Between today and tomorrow we’re going to touch on a load of feelings and thoughts on relationships.
It’s not a walk in the park being a student with ADHD/ADD. Schools and teachers follow a curriculum that isn’t sensitive to ADHD. They tend to label us as having a learning issue when in reality it’s the way we learn more then anything else. Listen in for more.
It isn’t easy for anyone to balance work & life, but it’s definitely harder for people with ADHD. I’ve asked a lot of people with and without ADHD and from the answers I’ve heard it seems I’m on the right track. So listen in.
How often do you blame ADHD for something happening in your life? It could be good or bad but mostly we all have blamed ADHD for the bad stuff. It’s time to stop the blame. It’s time to understand ADHD isn’t to blame.
Is there anything wrong with being a little mischievous? Kids do it why can't adults? Why do we blame ADHD on us or our kids being a little mischievous? There's nothing wrong with it. We should be more mischievous in life. Kids learn from it. Kids expand their horizons from it so why not us? Shouldn't we dare the exciting once in a while? There's something do it I believe and there's no blaming ADHD or ADD. You could I guess, but why?
I'm not sure downfall is the word I'm looking for? It's all about creativity overload and losing ideas. You need to have a way of capturing those creative ideas when they come. You need to keep them in a file for the days that ADHD gets you down. Listen in for more.
I love being creative, but there are times when my creativity takes a dump due to my ADHD. those are the times I try to remember that ADHD is not the stumbling block, but the avenue to overcome that block.
ADHD gives being an entrepreneur a different set of rules. Thrown away are one idea is great. Thrown away that ideas don’t change. Thrown away are all the guidelines written for entrepreneurs. Give a listen.
Ever have those days when procrastination is a better friend then getting things done? With ADHD you have all the ammunition to accomplish that. Here's a story about today that you might enjoy and relate to. Enjoy the listen.
If it hasn't to you yet, one day it will. The phone rings and there's an issues at home or work. Then someone wants to tell you about something. Then there's a text about a problem. Whatever else can come your way it does and they all need an answer. What do you do? If it's up to your ADHD it isn't helping you out of this one. No tips or tricks are working so you just give up. For me habits/routines are important in keeping my ADHD on a semi normal track. One change in a habit/routine will not only change the day, but it’ll throw my ADHD brain into a tail spin. How about you?
Are you compulsive about scheduling everything you do daily? Do you feel it’s needed to help control your ADHD? Everyone I’ve talked with has a different approach to this topic. Listen to mine and share yours by leaving a message.
When your ADHD/ADD acts up do you feel crowded? Maybe you feel invaded by people in your space? It could even be your computer or the chair your sitting it? That’s when it’s time to make space. Listen in for how I deal with this!
There’s no set way to overcome obstacles that I can tell you about. Each of us must find what works for us. This is what works for me. It can be used as a guide to help you find a way if you haven’t, but don’t expect my system to work for you. We are all different. Find your way.
Writing with ADHD can get frustrating. At least it does for me, but then there are times when my journaling when having an ADHD moment helps me later on. How about you? Do you write down ADHD moments and how you worked around them for future info?
Life is full of twists and turns and we always need to be ready to adapt. The thing is we are not always ready at the moment we need to be. Hopefully through stories of my past and times I needs to face those twists and turns I can guide you through a few ways to make those changes easier.

Some days you need to dump what’s in your brain so you can reload. This isn’t the same as refreshing. This is like clearing your hard drive. Deleting those unused or un-needed files. Listen in for more.
In this day and age kids take things for granted almost all the time. There’s nothing wrong with giving to our kids or grandkids. There’s nothing wrong with wanting the best for both, but when we’re gone how will they deal with reality that money/gifts don’t just fall from the skies?

ADHD & depression. Lots of people don’t think they go together, but they do. I’ve spent a ton of time researching and understanding how they go hand in hand and would enjoy sharing that with you over the next few shows.
My best advice I ever received was this, Be Yourself! Never oversell yourself or your business. Tell it like it is and you will be respected for your honesty. You may not always get what you want right then and there, but in the end, you will. Be Yourself!
