The WesWes Networks Ria, Tee, and Cyn are back with a new episode format. Ria and Cyn tell of their short holiday in Fiji while Tee tells of her business trip to the Bilingual Conference in Dunedin. Tee has a fun fact about similar skin types in the human body and also has a tv show review of the fitness program 'Match Fit' and also the movie 'Red White and Brass'. The girls discuss the topic of diversity when Ria talks about her experience with her elderly aunty at Auckland Airport and the difference in service between Islanders and Palagi. I've heard that once you turn 40 you have one foot on a banana skin ... well they weren't wrong!! The girls have been MIA for a while because they are busy Mums but also because they have been dealing with some medical issues which they share about in this episode!

Talofa and welcome to 2021 where January has proved that once again we have to be ready for anything!! We were hoping for a banger start but of course because we have kids its just one surprise after another and our teenagers are already testing us LOL  

Merry Christmas from Afakasi Scoop and our children!!  We tried to keep the Christmas spirit up for this one but it seems we had a few issues to work through first LOL.  Thank you all for the support for this our very first year of Podcasting.  We wish you and your family a safe and happy Christmas season and we look forward to connecting with you all again in 2021!  Love and light xox

Dont get us wrong, we LOVE our Samoan heritage and culture but we know there is a downside.  Today Tee and Ria are joined by Juliet to discuss the difficulties she faces being a NZ born Samoan in a relationship with her Romeo who was born in Samoa and still has strong family ties there.  The struggle is real and we know she aint the only one going through this.  

We are BACK in the Studio after the 2nd Lockdown!!!  We were a lil all over the place in this first episode back where we started off critiquing some video clips, reflect on our age and how much we are closer we are coming to death and then finish up talking about varying relationships with God.  We've missed getting together and are super happy to be back, hope you enjoy!

In this episode we talk about teen pregnancy, the importance of friends and of not losing yourself along the journey of motherhood.  Motherhood can be difficult but we have no regrets!

In honour of Samoan language week we chat and sing our way through this podcast with a mix of English and Samoan language.  We discuss bilingual units in schools before Ms Serious and Ms Humour have a battle of opinions.  Unlike what we saw with the National Party's ousting of their leader SB we talk about the importance of building up our fellow Polys and the part the Weswes Network play in this vital movement.

After spending 6 weeks in lockdown we have been set free!!  Us ladies -Cyn, Tee and Ria met up in own brand NEW studio to talk about how homeschooling in lockdown went, how we spent Mothers Day (expectation vs reality) and we offer a lil advice to the males about how to stay out of the dog box!

This is the first official podcast for the Afakasi Scoop and our very first time editing on our own .... it is a learning curve but like many Mamas out there we love a challenge, and we will only get better!!  Thanks to the 'Back of the 135' for helping the Afakasi Scoop spread their wings.
