The AODN Gendered Open Data Report

The AODN Gendered Open Data Report

AODN has recently completed a study on availability, openness and sex disaggregation of 50 indicators for SDG 1 to 5 covering 19 countries. Muchiri and Linet share observations from the data collected. The study looked at whether the data for the indicators was available online, if it was licensed for re-use, redistribution and repackaging and whether it was disaggregated by sex.

The AODN team participated in the 5th Open Government Partnership Summit held in Tbilisi, Georgia from 17th to 19th July, 2018. Among those who spoke in the high level plenary sessions was His Excellency the Honourable Gaston A. Browne, Prime Minister of the Antigua and Barbuda. He is the 4th and current Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, in office since 2014.

While his remarks are not about Africa, we find them relevant to the context of many African countries working within the framework of OGP.
