Nina has coffee with Detective Daniel while all hell breaks loose in and around the Locke House. Dodge returns with the Crown of Shadows and a gaggle of demon shadows whose weakness is light. Kinsey and the Matheson Bunch -- Gabe, Scot, Bode, Tyler, and Eden -- go to the caves and toss Dodge’s body into the blue door abyss where Dodge, et al. do their best Hans Gruber/slo-mo impression. Scot won’t double date with Kinsey slash Gabe which is fine with her and him/Gabe. And since Gabe=Dodge=Lucas=Ellie= who knows who else,, Kinsey is Matheson’s new Bachelorette. (Who will you give the rose to, Kins?) Nina decides the family should go back to Seattle but the others want to stay. They toss dad’s ashes over a cliff and pronounce, “You’re home now, Rendell. We’re home.”

We find out why Mark stabbed himself with the matchstick key after finding out Rendell was dead. Tyler and Kinsey enter Ellie’s head with the head key and uncover the truth about the keeper of the keys. Kinsey’s lack of fear leads her to make a bold proposal to Scot and Gabe. Lucas sends Ellie on another errand to find the Omega key in the Locke house. Bode finds the Crown of Shadows keys but it unfortunately ends up in Lucas’ evil hands.

The kids find out that Nina’s drinking is actually helping her remember the magical experiences of the keys. Kinsey’s love triangle with Scot and Gabe finally comes to a head. Bode meets Rufus’ “cousin” and Bode doesn’t quite trust him. After visiting the sea caves with Tyler and finding the Keepers of the Keys engraved in stone, Kinsey visits Erin (AKA Vossie) only to find that Dodge has already been there. Erin reveals that Dodge is actually Lucas. Dodge/Lucas uses the head key to find out where Rendell hid the omega key. In trying to bring back Rendell, Nina puts Rendell’s ashes in the mending key cabinet. When she doesn’t get the outcome she wants, she breaks the urn and breaks down. Tyler tries to clean up the mess and finds the omega key amongst the ashes of his father.

Sam pays the Locke family a visit, while things get physical between Dodge and Tyler. Kinsey resurrects her fear to help save her and Bode. Sam reveals his motive for killing Rendell and that he is doing all this for Dodge. Dodge shows her true colors to Sam by stabbing him. While dodge escapes with all the keys, Nina breaks her sobriety to cope with the events of the night. Sam’s body is found by the cops but his soul floats outside the key house.

Joe’s death is ruled a suicide by a questionable detective. Ellie finally tells the “truth” about her scar. Kinsey nearly kills the Savini squad when she invites them to film inside the sea caves. Kensie becomes the new mean girl after finding a new key that lets its owner control whomever they wish. Tyler and Jackie share their first kiss! Nina gets closer to the truth after discovering a Ellie shares and identical scar with Rendell. After warning NIna to leave the past alone, Joe makes a desperate call to Nina. She arrives at his house only to find him dead. Tyler and Kensie also find another key and discover Uncle Duncan (and Rendell’s) secrets in the process.

Fresh from facing her fear, we meet a brand new Kensie! She’s fearless, bold...and has pink hair. Taylor uses the head key for his own benefit as he pursues Jackie and a new life apart from the jocks. Nina continues to work with Ellie to discover more about Rendell’s past and the Key house. Echo (aka Dodge) makes her usual appearance- this time with flames from the matchstick key. She pursues Bode, but we find out a new element of this story- she can’t take a key, it must be given by the owner! Slightly defeated, she pays a visit to Sam and we find out there may be to their relationship than meets the eye.

Bode’s new head key takes him to a sweet memory of his dad. Kinsey uses the same key to face her fears and most vulnerable memory. Tyler gets physical with a guy from an opposing team after the Hockey game. Ellie visits the well after Nina tells her about Bode’s imaginary friend. Nina shares a secret about her past and Bode meets a new friend from his family’s past.

We are introduced to Ellie, a high school friend of Rendell who reveals a dark secret that Nina did not know about Rendell. Kinsey makes an effort to hang out with Scot and the ‘Savini” group by offering to star in their movie but it doesn’t end well for her. Tyler gets influenced by his hockey friends to make some questionable decisions. Bode finds another key in the vacuum and it takes him to somewhere mysterious. And the elusive Echo explores her new found freedom by eating, drinking, and of course causing more havoc.

After the gruesome murder of their father, Randell, Nina Locke and her three children -- Bode,Tyler, and Kinsey -- leave Seattle and head to the ancestral Locke family home on the coast of Massachusetts.

Tyler and Kinsey find their way and find friends at a new school while Bode explores the property and finds a special well with an “Echo” that talks back.

We see each member of the Locke family reliving their father’s murder through flashbacks that reveal the killer, Sam, but not his motives.

Bode returns to the well where the “Echo” tells him that the house is full of keys that have different magical properties. Bode will find the “Anywhere Key” and use it to transport himself from his sister’s bedroom to the town’s ice cream shop. He’ll later find another key that takes his mother into another dimension full of mirrors and self-reflection.

In order to save his mom Bode will give up the “Anywhere Key” to the “Echo” who uses it to leave the bottom of the well and meet up with Sam in prison.
