Aaron has to be creative in gearing up for his trial due to the new prison lockdown. Maskins is working with the DA's office to win and to keep the cards stacked against Aaron, getting a new judge assigned to his hearing. Jasmine goes into labor and gives the baby Aaron's name. Aaron's retrial gets ordered with all deliberate spread. However, Maskins leaves him with a difficult decision.

Things pick up right where they left off as everyone tries to recover from the riot in the gym. Warden Masry gets caught in the crossfire, she has to undergo a hearing of her own and ends up losing her job in the meantime. Aaron has to overcome his injuries, being transferred to Rikers and back, and even solitary confinement just to make it to court for his retrial. The fate of the prison is back in the hands of Cyrus Hunt who has a zero tolerance and nothing seems to be the same.

This week the  warden is still trying to figure out Foster’s motives and uncovering the truth leads her to a gruesome gym day for everyone involved. Aaron gifts a visit from Marie and Henry that gives him the ammo he needs to file a motion for his re trial. Jamal shows just how beautiful friendship can be as he risks his life to make sure Aaron is untouched. And, Darius finds a break in Aaron’s case that takes him to a prison visit of his on.

This week’s episode takes us on a trip back into the past and we see just how Aaron was able to come to terms with life in prison. He has had to forge friendships, overcome the violence of prison politics and corrupt officers, and pass the bar, all behind bars. We also get to see the breakdown of his friendship with Darius the moment he comes to tell him that he’s moving in with Marie. Aaron takes control of his life in prison and is instrumental in the new wardens arrival.

This week Aaron beings to work on the case of the recent inmate transfer with his lawyer Henry, determined to take DA hopeful Maskins down. Outside of the prison Marie has trouble dealing with what she should do about Darius, but Jasmine’s facebook page leads her back to working on Aaron’s case. The warden is on a hunt to get Foster and figure out how drugs are coming into the prison. Aaron gets another victory in court as his client is released from prison and the District Attorney’s office ends up burying information that may have helped his case.

Aaron's lawyer, Henry presents a case from his pace that he wants Aaron to use in order  to go after the District Attorney. All the while, Dawkins continues to be a troubled inmate. He causes a fight in the shower and as a result Aaron plans to represent Dawkins as a way to finally get his phone back but Dawkins doesn't make it easy for him. Aaron quickly learns of Dawkins reach when he goes to get Captain Foster to testify and has to ignore the fact that his client has already intimidated him. Marie continues to sort through her feelings for Aaron after receiving the divorce papers and Darius leaves her a goodbye note along with her mom's engagement ring.

Aaron labors over his file and manages to catch a big break in his case when the DA's office is forced to reveal the criminal informant. Meanwhile, back at home Marie's father comes to visit and pushes for Aaron to sign the divorce papers so that she can be free to marry Darius. Dawkins is a wild card that makes life difficult for Aaron when he gives him his burner phone, and the CO's.

Aaron finally has his hands on his police file. While reviewing it with his attorney he realizes he needs to search for witnesses for his retrial.

The warden is on the hunt for who is bringing drugs into the prison while Aaron gets to show off his legal skills defending a guilt man but not without getting what he needs to clear his own name. Marie and Jasmine help Aaron find witnesses as Marie is conflicted by her relationship with Darius.

Episode 4 was all about the flashback and this week took us back to the very beginning when times were good for Aaron and Marie at Jasmine’s 7th birthday party. Aarons friends flipped on him in court and times got hard, so Marie had to boss up and put herself through nursing school. As the years went by we get to see the moment she called it quits, asking Aaron for a divorce, and the moment her relationship with Darius went to a point of no return.

In season 1 episode 3, ‘Brother’s Keeper,’ we meet Hassan, an inmate leading a group therapy for recovering addicts, and he becomes Aaron’s next client. Hassan needs his brother’s help, and Aaron reaches out to see if he can get him to testify on Hassan’s behalf. Once the DA gets wind of it, he goes after Aaron by looking into the forgery and filing of false evidence from the Rodriguez case. Meanwhile, Aaron loses the motion to help Hassan’s case, but not before asking his brother to use his status as a police officer to review his file. With the help of Hassan’s brother, Aaron works frivolously but he is working against a system that wont give him any favors; however, the system can’t stop Hassan’s brother from delivering Aaron’s police report to Marie.

In Episode 2 of For Life, Aaron meets Ronnie about the future of his daughter’s happiness. Aaron takes on a new case for an inmate in his prison that causes a ripple effect of tension and rivalry that gets him in trouble. Aaron tries to get his criminal record and files and it’s denied which leaves him defeated. Although frustrated about his personal battles, he wins his case and sees another side to prison life.

The pilot episode was packed with information. Prisoner Aaron Wallace because a lawyer, litigating cases for other inmates while fighting to overturn his own conviction. He got pretty creative in defending Rodriguez and he didn’t have any issue creating new evidence to secure his first victory. Aaron learns that his daughter Jasmine is pregnant with a boy and he feels the pull to be there for her. His relationship with the warden, and her wife Ayda, looks like it will be an issue for the district attorney.
