On this weeks DC's HARLEY QUINN - SEASON 2 - EPISODE 8 - INNER (PARA) DEMONS  - Harley gets a demon military army from Apokolips, Ivy meets the parents, and Harley tells Ivy what she really wants...a bachelorette party.

We begin the episode with Harley awkwardly trying to stay calm with Ivy.  Harley talks to Ivy about the kiss.  Ivy presumptuously states that it was nothing and Harley awkwardly and reluctantly agrees.  Harley tries to blame it on her impetuous nature.  Ivy goes to dinner with Kiteman's parents, meeting them for the first time.  Gordon calls the President of the United States in order to have Gotham rejoin the country.  The President says one villain is left, Harley.  Gordon decides to take down Harley as his mission.

Harley, trying to uphold her image, takes Batgirl's warning as advice to get an army.  Psycho expresses the only army left is the one on Apokolips.  Harley forcefully takes a motherboard from Mister Miracle who is performing at a dinner show and they boom tube to Apokolips.  Darkseid tells Harley he will give her an army but first she must beat Granny Goodness.  Granny Goodness easily beats Harley, as she is gloating over her victory, Psycho takes control of Harley and slams a rock on Granny Goodnesses head.  Darkseid delivers Harley the staff and a para demon army for Harley's control.

Batgirl warns Gordon about Harley's massive army, with the advice to just not go to war.  Gordon takes this as to mean he should get an army himself.  He gathers the citizens and rallies up an army.

Meanwhile, Ivy goes to dinner with Kiteman's parents.  Forgetting to make reservations as Kiteman is eager to please his parents and wants them to like Ivy.  Ivy demonstrates her superpowers which impresses Kiteman's disappointed parents.  They treat Kiteman with childish disdain, because they both have powers and he does not.  They are happy he is with Ivy, because she has real powers too and does not "pretend".  They belittle Kiteman, as they leave Ivy tells them off.  Ivy expresses she is lucky to have Kiteman, not the other way around.

Ivy sees the boomtube open and comes in time as the demon army is decapitating and decimating the citizens of Gotham.  Ivy confronts Harley and asks is this what she wants.  Harley realizes she is overcompensating and calls off the army by breaking the staff.  Psycho who was eager to be part of the world domination plan quits the crew when the army is called off.  Harley is about to seemingly reveal her real feelings for Ivy when Kiteman interrupts with his love for Ivy.  When asked what Harley was about to say, Harley states it was in regards to Ivy's bachelorette party.

Fixed Audio: Harley Quinn S2 E7 Recap & After Show: Jim's Back

On this weeks episode of DC’s HARLEY QUINN – SEASON 2 – EPISODE 7 – There’s No Place to Go But Down – Harley and Ivy are put on trial by Bane and Two Face goons with the only defense being a literal bat man. When Ivy is called to the stand, Harley encourages her to plead innocent and let the blame for killing Penguin fall on Harley. But she admits it all and makes threats to finish the rest of the crime squad off.
The pair are carried off to what they think will be Arkham, but is really Bain’s reform prison, The Pit. Here, there are no prison doors, and no way of escape; but there are a plethora of enrichment activities to help displace the emotions a villain goes through. Realizing the literal hole, they are stuck in, Ivy and Harley come up with a plan to escape using a comic stand up night as a chance to cause a riot and George Lopez’s performance to steal his helicopter to get out of the pit. The plan goes array when Harley forgets to make her bed, breaking own of the rules set by Bane, and is punished by being pulled from the show. Ivy steps in to take her place and completely bombs her set. Feeling like she has nothing else to loose, she takes the opportunity to express how she truly feels about her life and pointing out the poignant fact that her life was a pit when she was living it and now she is stuck in a literal pit; both extremely depressing. This works for a riot! Although they missed the chance to acquire Lopez’s helicopter, they do use all the furniture and rubbish to stack making a long “ladder” of sorts. As they climb out Bane catches up and grabs Harley’s foot to keep her from escaping. Ivy, using a plant from above, is able to pull them both up until she can no longer hold Bane’s weight in addition to their own. Harley realized this is her moment to let Ivy live out her life and be happy. Harley lets go and does a free fall back into the pit with Bain and the others. Ivy is slingshot out of the pit, only to dive back down to save Harley. They both land at the top for safety and share a kiss. Batgirl and Jim Gordon are attempting to be vigilantes together, but Gordon’s alcoholic
dependencies get the best of him and he blows their cover while trying to detain Rat Catcher.
Later that evening, at dinner, Barbra pleads with her father to stop drinking, and asking him his thoughts on this new Batgirl. Jim does not appreciate Batgril in the least and continues to guzzle down his alcohol and mayonnaise pasta. Their dinner is interrupted by Two Face and his men coming to collect Jim Gordan and his life. But he does not go down without a fight. After being cornered and giving up his gun, he faces Two Face in a fist to fist battle. Batgirl intervenes to save his life and succeeds. Two Face runs away as Batgirl and Gordon have a heart to heart, revealing that Batgirl is, in fact, Jim Gordon’s daughter. Feeling ready to kick butt, Jim gives up drinking and takes back the Gotham City Police Department from Two Face. He does it on his own and wins, putting Two Face behind bars. Jim is back.

Harley Quinn S2 E5 Recap & After Show: Back by Popular Demand

Harley Quinn S2 E5 Recap & After Show: Back by Popular Demand

On this weeks DC's HARLEY QUINN - SEASON 2 - EPISODE 5 - BATMAN'S BACK, MAN - starts off by breaking the 4th wall with two "geeks" arguing over Lord of the Rings and one refusing to watch Harley Quinn, because it would be "typical" and simply about hating men. On the show Bruce Wayne is up but not about as he is still hurt from last seasons excursion. Bruce wants to jump back into the full swing of things especially after realizing how bad Gotham has become. Alfred the ever voice of reason forbids it because Batman is not ready physically. Batman has a special suit, a la Iron Man made for him by Lucious Fox in order to fight crime. He is even more inspired when he sees a video fo BatGirl going viral, not because of her doing well on an Instagram Live. Batman goes on a caper and Batgirl fan girls. Batman is back. This is not great as it gives the citizens of Gotham hope. Problem is Batman is not ready to be back. He has the suit and a couple moves but is physically not ready as we see in his showdown with Bane. Bane who attempted to start a partnership with Two Face who turns him down as with all members of LOD they treat Bane poorly and bully him. He is not even allowed a "Big Chair" at the meeting though there are only the 2 of them. However Two Face changes his mind after hearing of Batman's return and proposes a partnership that. The name of the 50/50 partnership however is still condescending and dismissive as it is simply "Two Faces" with no mention or even a picture of Bane. Batman sees this on an outing and specifically tells Bane he is looking for Two Face because he must be running the town now. Batman is given a beating at the hands of Bane, reminiscent of a cartoon version of the infamous beating Batman took at the hands of Bane. Bat Girl and new hero the Macaroni, who turns out to be Alfred as a superhero come to Batman's aid. Bat Girl impresses Batman enough that he passes the torch of crime fighting to her in front of Commissioner Gordon, who is unbeknownst to them her father.

Harley and crew are frozen in Mr. Freeze's lair and put in an ice cell.  They are then unfrozen because Mr. Freeze has run out of lab mice to test on and wants to use Harley as a subject as his purpose remains to cure his terminally ill wife whom he has frozen until he finds a cure.  Harley on the operating table gives the plan that her genius doctor bestfriend, not Dr. Psycho but Ivy, can cure Mr. Freeze's wife Nora.  Mr. Freeze agrees and prepares lunch.  Harley and crew get free during lunch and Harley unfreezes Nora after a conversation on the lack of true love and thinking that Nora is also now an ice prizoner as Harley was at the beginning of the season.  Only to find that Nora is terminally ill and very much in love with Mr. Freeze and that the only reason Harley was frozen was in order to save her because the other villains planned on killing her.  Feeling stupid and with Mr. Freeze threatening to blow everyone up together if Nora isn't saved Harley calls on Ivy.

Harley Quinn Season 2 Episode 3 After Show

Harley Quinn Season 2 Episode 3 After Show

On this weeks episode of DC’s HARLEY QUINN – SEASON 2 – EPISODE 3 – TRAPPED – Harley and her crew find themselves at Mr. Freeze’s territory of New Gotham to get her revenge on Mr. Freeze. His two henchmen, Fred and Kevin, accidentally relay the exact information needed to invade his fortress – the firegun from the Gotham Natural History Museum.

Kite man, who gives Harley and Ivy a lift to the museum, expresses his love for Ivy with premade snacks and a kiss goodbye, giving Harley the impression that Kite man is not good enough for her bestie. Upon entering the museum, they encounter traps that are set by Dr. Trap himself. After testing some with a thrown coin, they realize they need the help of a third party – Catwoman.

Back at Harley’s lair, Riddler is put to work on the running wheel giving power to her crew. Riddler taunts Dr. Phsyco, playing on his insecurities. In a fit of rage, Dr. Psyco begins to throw miscellaneous lotions and body butters at him, allowing Riddler to set the stage for his grand escape. When everyone is occupied, Riddler uses the lotions to rub all over his body and slip out of his shackle, taunting Psy, Clayface, Shark and Dr. Psyco to give chase in hopes of finding him before Harley returns. Riddler actually comes back, in a show of good faith, confessing his want to stay.

Harley and Ivy meet with Catwoman to discuss helping them through the plethora of traps. Although aloof, she accepts as long as she can steal the Egyptian ruby for herself. Over lunch, Ivy displays the apparent girl crush she has had on Catwoman and how much she covets the life Catwoman has made for herself.

When the time comes to break into the History Museum, Ivy girlfans over Catwoman’s stealth, while Kitman confesses to Harley that he is going to participate in the heist so he can steal a leaf-shaped diamond ring to propose to Ivy. As the quest begins, Kite Man displays his inability to defeat any trap. He and Harley meet up with Ivy and Catwoman at the firegun destination.  Broken and bruised, he is convinced this is the time to propose to Ivy. But upon opening the ring box, there is no ring to be found. All eyes turn to Catwoman as she is quietly escaping with the ring on her finger.

Dr. Trap takes this moment to capture Harley, Ivy and Kite Man in one of his traps and squish them to death. Kite man desperately tries to explain the purpose of his proposal, while Ivy confesses, she is not ready to marry and doesn’t know if she ever will be. A tear quietly slides down Kite Mans face. Ivy turns to point out that Harley is in fact in possession of a firegun. She uses the firegun to blow a hole in the trap in the nick of time, allowing Dr. Trap to be vulnerable for the takedown.

The end scene, over acid dripping board members, Harley and Ivy share a sweet moment, where Harley gives her blessing for Ivy to marry Kite Man. In turn Ivy confesses she wants to get back to her roots, and perhaps having people to support her in the process isn’t as bad as being alone. Ivy returns to Kite Man’s shabby apartment in hopes of asking him to ask her again. The answer must wait until next time.

Back To School - S2 E2 'Harley Quinn' Recap & Review

Back To School - S2 E2 'Harley Quinn' Recap & Review

On this weeks episode of DC's HARLEY QUINN - SEASON 2 - EPISODE 2 - RIDDLE U - Harley Quinn and Ivy have to infiltrate Riddler's section of New Gotham known as Riddle U because its the only part of the city that has running clean water and electricity.  The only way to break in is to disguise themselves as college girls and hitching a ride on the back of Kiteman, who's return to the show has been highly anticipated.  Clayface creates the character Stephanie to join the duo but knowing Clayface's flair for the dramatics his request to join is denied.  He does so anyway as Stephanie, a character reminiscent of the movie White Chicks, and is immediately the most popular girl on campus, even saving Harley and Ivy with their college monikers Heather Weatherby and Isadora Staplebumpkin from being found out by saying they are with her, an excuse that is easily accepted by the college tour guide "Babs".

Their mission to find Riddler and get electricity and water for themselves as well.  They are then discovered by the guide as Harley attacks the Riddler who turns out to only be the school mascot.  Babs quick escapes to seemingly raise the alarm and Harley gives chase only to find out Babs is a "surprisingly agile tour guide"m as she flips her way to an escape to her dorm room.  Harley and Ivy break into the dorm room to a room full of Batman memorabilia and none other than Commissioner Gordon himself.  "Babs" turns out to be short for "Barbara Gordon" aka Batgirl.  She convinces Harley and Ivy that she is vehemently against the Riddler and tells them of a sinister Frat Party that happens in which  students go in but never come out. Taking all 3 wristbands from Babs, the two look for Stephanie to sneak into the party.  Stephanie is already invited as VIP.  Once she enters VIP she is not seen from either.  This inspires Harley and and Ivy to sneak Inside the VIP inside the party as well only to find Riddle using students to run in hamster wheels to power everything.  They are quickly captured and placed in hamster wheels themselves alongside Clayface Stephanie.

Meanwhile Babs and Commissioner Gordon have some heart felt words.  Gordon has lost confidence and feels undefined and helpless without "the Bat" referring to Batman.  Babs takes it on herself to break into the party as well.  She dons a hoodie and mask and finds Harley, Ivy, and Stephanie on their respective hamster wheels.  Successful fighting goons Babs finds a gun, aims at the switch instead of Riddler.  When she fails to hit the switch, Babs throws the gun at Riddler's forehead which jabs him into the switch and knocks him out.  Harley and Ivy capture him and take them back to their lair.

While this is going on Shark and Dr. Psyco are having an adventure of their own.  They are delegated to a task that takes them through Two Face territory where they run into Two Face's goons who drive in police cars and speak like 1930s gangsters.  They then escape to Baneton where Bane goons are not easily defeated by their car contraption escape from Two Face's goons.  Bane goons take the serum and eat the tire.

We return to the lair where Shark and Psycho have donned Bane masks as they escaped by becoming "Bane Boys" and ironically Riddler is running in a hamster providing energy for Harley and Ivy's lair.  We return to Riddle U to see Babs, inspired by the lack of action by Commissioner Gordon and her love and obsession with Batman, donning gear befitting her of a Batman like costume, introducing Batgirl.  All this and more on the DC's HARLEY QUINN - SEASON 2 - EPISODE 2 - RIDDLE U - Afterbuzz Aftershow.  Stay tuned.
