Praising Wolves

In this weeks episode we caught up with Krystal Hewitt from Speaking of Wildlife! Speaking of Wildlife is a wildlife rehabilitation sanctuary that is currently taking care of a special wolf named Maverick. Maverick was actually donated as a pup from our facility just a few years ago. We caught up with Krystal to see how 'Mav' has been doing and along the way we explore the differences between socialized and unsocialized wolves. It's your Wolf Centre ambassadors, Marena Wigmore and Aidan Doak here! In our very first episode we give listeners a quick history lesson on the Haliburton Forest Wolf Centre and how it came to be. Our educational facility is home to a pack of Western timber wolves that we have the pleasure of observing everyday. These unsocialized wolves have essentially maintained their natural behaviour and provide people with the opportunity to see how wolves would behave in the wild.
