Ep 27 - The Wizards have officially hit rock bottom, what happens next?

Ep 27 - The Wizards have officially hit rock bottom, what happens next?

Candace Buckner's series of tweets set #WizardsTwitter ablaze last night once news broke of multiple verbal altercations that happened at a Wizards practice last week.

John Wall and Jeff Green got into it resulting in Wall yelling expletives at Scott Brooks and Bradley Beal and Austin Rivers also had choice words for each other ending with Beal pointing at Ernie Grunfeld and saying: "I'm sick of this sh*t."

With tensions high and now that this internal blow up is national news, there's no doubt that change is on the way. But, is there going to be a change in management, coaching, or the personnel? One thing is clear, Owner Ted Leonis has some HUGE decisions to make.

Ep 26 - Wiz fall 107-95 in latest embarrassing loss to Memphis

Ep 26 - Wiz fall 107-95 in latest embarrassing loss to Memphis

Washington falls to Memphis 107-95 on a night where Kelly Oubre Jr. was the only positive. Stats lie as John Wall scored 22 points, had 7 assists to go along with 5 rebounds but committed 9 turnovers.

Garrett Temple of the Grizzlies provided the most leadership for the Wizards in consoling Wall and Beal after the game.

If this isn't rock bottom for this team, I'm not sure what is.

Episode 25 - New season, same problems. Wiz fall to Heat 113-112 on Olynyk putback

Episode 25 - New season, same problems. Wiz fall to Heat 113-112 on Olynyk putback

It’s that guy again, huh?

In a game that featured 21 lead changes and 19 ties, no basket was more important than Kelly Olynyk’s putback off a Dwayne Wade miss with 0.2 seconds to play in regulation to spoil the Wizards’ regular-season opener, 113-112.

Takeaways:
- John Wall looks just fine
- New season, same rotations
- Wizards must rely on small ball even though it isn’t the long-term solution
- Same ol' Wizards

Ep 24 - Wiz tie the series with a 106-98 victory over TOR

Ep 24 - Wiz tie the series with a 106-98 victory over TOR

Bradley Beal led the Wizards with 31 points and John Wall added 27 as the Washington backcourt one-ups the Toronto backcourt of Lowry and DeRozan outscoring them 58-54 tonight. Otto Porter was quiet in the first half but scored 11 in the second half for the Wizards who have now won eight straight home playoff games dating back to last season.

Bradley Beal fouled out with just under four minutes to play with the game tied at 92 sucking all the life out of Capital One Arena. Even though the game was tied, the Wizards looked defeated. But the Wizards, the up-and-down Wizards, they don’t know what to expect next Wizards persevered and closed the game on a 14-4 run and beat the Raptors 106-98 evening the series at two games apiece.

Wall and Beal outduel DeRozan and Lowry for a second straight game - Washington's backcourt won outscored Toronto's 58-54.

Good Oubre Bad Oubre was on full display tonight.

Marcin Gortat had another very nice game with 12 points (6-8 shooting).

Ep 23 - WAS protects home court with 122-103 blowout win

Ep 23 - WAS protects home court with 122-103 blowout win

John Wall and Bradley Beal explode for 28 points each as the Wizards stay alive in the series, blowing out the Raptors 122-103 on Friday night. Marcin Gortat had a throwback game with 16 points and five rebounds and Otto Porter chipped in with 8 points and 8 rebounds as the Wizards win their seventh straight home playoff game dating back to last season.

We finally get a House of Guards game - One of these guys isn’t enough – the Wizards need both Bradley Beal and John Wall to play well if they’re going to win this series, and tonight they got it.

Washington shows up on the defensive end - This isn’t brain surgery here but when the Wizards lock in defensively, they’re a very good team.

Ep 22 - Washington can’t slow Toronto down in 130-119 loss

Ep 22 - Washington can’t slow Toronto down in 130-119 loss

DeMar DeRozan scored 37 points and led a Toronto onslaught as the Raptors rolled over the Wizards 130-119 in Game 2 of their first-round series on Tuesday night.

John Wall scored a game-high 29 points to go along with 9 assists but got next to no help from his fellow starters. The rest of the starting five combined for 27 only points. Mike Scott, arguably the second best player on the Wizards in this series had a nice game with 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting and 4-of-5 from three-point range and Ty Lawson, playing his first game as a Wizard, added 14 points and 8 assists off the bench.

This one was over early - This Wizards played most of this game similar to that of a midseason game against Atlanta, Brooklyn, or Insert sub .500 team here ___.

All Washington starters not named John Wall no-showed tonight.

Ep 21-TORs depth is too much for the Wiz to handle in Game 1

Ep 21-TORs depth is too much for the Wiz to handle in Game 1

John Wall scored 23 points to go along with 15 assists but it wouldn’t be enough as the Wizards drop Game 1 of the postseason to the Toronto Raptors, 114-106. Markieff Morris scored 22 to go along with 11 rebounds and six assists and Mike Scott added 14 off the bench but the Toronto Raptors win Game 1 of a series for the first time in 10 tries.

A difference in bench units - Toronto’s bench was one of their biggest strengths coming into the series. The question for Washington was, would their bench be able to keep pace with them? Outside of Mike Scott who scored 14 points, that would be a resounding no as the rest of the Washington reserves combined for just seven.

An ultra intense Wall nearly carries the Wizards to victory - Wall's shot wasn't falling evidenced as he was just 6-20 from the field but he nearly carried the Wizards to victory on the heels of 23 points and 15 assists.

Ep 20 - Wiz fall to Hawks in their latest #sowizards loss

Ep 20 - Wiz fall to Hawks in their latest #sowizards loss

Just when you think it can’t get any worse, the Wizards lay another egg, this time to the Atlanta Hawks at home losing 103-97 on Friday night. Bradley Beal scored a game-high 32 points tonight but it didn’t matter on a night when the Wizards no-showed yet again to a sub .500 team.

After trailing for nearly the entire game, Washington was able to regain the lead by six, 93-87 on the heels of a personal 7-0 run from Bradley Beal. However, that quickly evaporated as the Hawks used a 12-0 run late in the fourth quarter to regain the lead and drop Washington to their latest embarrassing loss of the season.

Scott Brooks goes off on the Wizards in his post-game presser (has the team checked him out?)

Kelly Oubre finally connects on a few three-pointers after a horrific 2-35 stretch over the past 6 games.

Washington falls to the 8-seed with the loss.

Ep 19 - Wiz snap losing streak with 116-106 win over Spurs

Ep 19 - Wiz snap losing streak with 116-106 win over Spurs

Seven Wizards players score in double figures, led Markieff Morris with 15 on a perfect 7-of-7 shooting as the Wizards snapped a three-game losing skid and beat the Spurs 116-106 on Wednesday night.

The Washington reserves were outstanding tonight combining for 61 points led by Jodie Meeks with 13.

An outstanding second quarter propels the Wizards to victory.

Markieff Morris and Otto Porter were nearly perfect tonight.

Kelly Oubre's threes still aren't falling but he finds other ways to contribute.

Ep 18 - Wiz fall to NY 101-97 in the latest #SoWizards loss

Ep 18 - Wiz fall to NY 101-97 in the latest #SoWizards loss

Queue up your: “We’ve got to take all of these games serious” or “We’ve got to come out with more energy” quotes from the Wizards.

The Knicks take down the Wizards 101-97 behind a game-high 19 points from who else, Trey Burke.

Don’t let the box score fool you, outside of Otto Porter, the rest of the starters were non-factors tonight. Yes, Beal scored 14 points. Yes, Morris scored 13 points. Yes, Satoransky had 10 assists. But, they were a big part of the reason Washington found themselves in a 12-point hole one in this game. Poor defense, no energy on either side of the floor, getting outworked by former G-League players; you name it.

The loss means the Wizards will likely be on the road in the first round of the playoffs.

Washington really, really, really, misses John Wall.

Ep 17 - Wizards at Spurs final score: San Antonio stifles Washington in 98-90 loss

Ep 17 - Wizards at Spurs final score: San Antonio stifles Washington in 98-90 loss

The Washington Wizards had no answer for LaMarcus Aldridge who scored a game-high 27 points as the Spurs beat the Wizards 98-90 on Wednesday evening.

Unfortunately for the Wizards, the loss drops them to sixth in the Eastern Conference thanks to the 76ers defeating the Grizzlies earlier in the evening. That’s just life in the Eastern Conference playoff race these days.

San Antonio played like the desperate team tonight.

Bradley Beal and Kelly Oubre eat. Everyone else? Not so much.

Ep 16 - Wiz blow fourth quarter lead, lose to Wolves 116-111

Ep 16 - Wiz blow fourth quarter lead, lose to Wolves 116-111

Markieff Morris was outstanding tonight leading the Wizards with a season-high 27 points and Bradley Beal added 19 but it was Karl-Anthony Towns who stole the show with a game-high 37 points on 13-17 shooting.

Washington falls apart in the fourth quarter - Minnesota uses a 14-0 run and knocks down 10-12 field goals to start the quarter as they outscored the Wizards 34-21.

Markieff Morris turns in his best game of the season - Since the All-Star break, it seems like the play of Markieff Morris is usually a good barometer for how the rest of the Wizards squad will play. He led the Wizards with a team-high 27 points on 10-15 shooting.

Points in the paint are still a problem - Washington surrenders 64 points in the paint and have now given up 200 points in the restricted area over their past three games combined.

Ep 15 - The Good, The Bad & The Ugly for Washington

Ep 15 - The Good, The Bad & The Ugly for Washington

There was a little bit of good, a lot of bad, and plenty of ugly for the Wizards over their past two games against the Pelicans (W) and Heat (L).

The Good: Washington ended New Orleans' 10-game winning streak, albeit without Anthony Davis.

The Bad: Live-ball turnovers continue to be a problem.

The Ugly: The opposition's points in the paint are starting to become a major issue for the Wizards.

Ep 14 - Wiz barely hang on to beat the Heat in OT, 117-113

Ep 14 - Wiz barely hang on to beat the Heat in OT, 117-113

Bradley Beal scored 30 points on 12-of-16 shooting and Tomas Satoransky had a bounce-back game with 19 points and seven assists as the Wizards escaped with a 117-113 overtime victory against the Heat on Tuesday night.

Late game execution (on both ends) remains a huge problem for Washington.

The Minute(s) Man, Bradley Beal, has another All-Star performance.

Markieff Morris keeps humming along.

Washington gets a much-needed spark from their bench.

Ep 13 - Wiz can’t overcome 17-point hole, fall to Indy 98-95

Ep 13 - Wiz can’t overcome 17-point hole, fall to Indy 98-95

Bradley Beal had a chance to tie the game with just seconds remaining. After catching the inbounds pass, Beal sidestepped Myles Turner for a wide-open three-pointer but it fell short as the Wizards fall to the Pacers, 98-95.

Victor Oladipo, the former DeMatha product scored a game-high 33 points for the Indiana Pacers who jump into the 4-seed with the win this evening.

Bradley Beal led the Wizards with 22 points (8-27 shooting) and Otto Porter added 17 (6-12 shooting) but it wouldn’t be enough, as the Wizards can’t complete the comeback to overcome a 17-point deficit.

Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers - 14 Washington turnovers led to 20 Indiana points including two easy layups late in the game as the Wizards were mounting their comeback.

No love for Otto Porter down the stretch - After connecting on all 4 shots in the third quarter, Otto Porter took just one shot in the fourth quarter.

Brooks' rotations remain a mystery.

Ep. 12 - Toronto's depth too much for the Wiz, lose 102-95

Ep. 12 - Toronto's depth too much for the Wiz, lose 102-95

DeMar DeRozan hits two clutch baskets late behind a team-high 23 points as the Raptors beat the Wizards Friday night 102-95. C.J. Miles added 20 points off the bench on 7-10 shooting including going 6-9 from three-point range as the Raptors even the season series with the Wizards at two games apiece.

Otto Porter led the Wizards with 24 points (9-12 shooting) and Bradley Beal added 23 points for the Washington starters who had to carry the load as they got next to no production from the reserves this evening.

Turnovers are becoming a problem for Washington as they committed 18 tonight resulting in 27 points for Toronto.

The difference in bench units made the difference tonight as the Raptors were able to mount a comeback with their reserves whereas Washington got next to no help from their bench.

Ep. 11- Wiz kick off hell week with 109-94 win over Philly

Washington kicks off their hell week with a 109-94 victory over the 76ers, maintaining the 4-seed. Bradley Beal came up big down the stretch ending the night with 24 points. The dynamic duo of Otto Porter and Kelly Oubre jr. We’re outstanding tonight combining for 42 points. Everyone eats as the Wiz dish out 35 assists in their 8th straight win at home over Philly.

Wiz get buzzed by the Hornets again, lose 122-105

After one of their best wins on the season in Cleveland, Washington lays an egg the very next night with a 122-105 Home loss to the Charlotte Hornets. Bradley Beal scored 33 and Otto Porter added 16 but turnovers (14) and a sub par defensive effort doomed the Wizards tonight.

Wizards execute down the stretch, knock off Cavs 110-103

Washington began the tail end of the season with a road win in Cleveland, 110-103. Bradley Beal led the Wizards with 18 points and Tomas Satoransky continues to impress with 17 points and 8 assists. Kelly Oubre broke out of his funk with 17 points off the bench as the Wizards are 10 games above .500 for the first time this season (34-24).

The schedule is about to get a whole lot harder for the Wizards.

The Wizards entered the All-Star break riding high winning 7 of their last 9 games. However, things are about to get a whole lot tougher as 18 of their remaining 25 games are against teams with winning records. It all starts back up Thursday night in Cleveland as the Wizards take on the new look Cavaliers.
