Ep 32: Overcoming Conditioning
Many times when we are trying to make a habit upgrade, we try to do it by just forcing the issue. We make a commitment to ourselves. “I’m going to workout 5 days a week” “I’m going to stop arguing with my dad about politics” “I’m going to make my bed every day” “I’m not going to drink anymore”. We maybe get hyped on tracking this thing that we want to do, building up a streak that we don’t want to break. Maybe we even go as far as telling other people about it to keep us accountable. But so often we are STILL not able to maintain these habit upgrades long term. We haven’t made it a lifestyle change so the habit is temporary, not permanent. If we want to make our habits stick, we need to dig into the beliefs that live underneath them. It’s likely that there are some shit beliefs happening beneath the surface that you are not yet aware of. Making a lifestyle change versus a temporary upgrade relies on you bringing these beliefs to the surface and changing them. Today we’re going to talk about how to do that.

Ep 31: How To Sort Through Your Stressors
PEACE comes from FULFILLMENT which comes from being AUTHENTIC which comes from understanding why you haven’t been authentic in the past which comes from knowing your STRESSORS. Peace is when we’re free from disturbance. As parents, there are A LOT of times when we are not free from disturbance. In fact it may seem that we’re in a constant state of disturbance. When we don’t have tools for what to do when we’re disturbed, that’s when we freak out and yell at the kid, or at our spouse, or our mom, or make that snotty remark to our friend, or be completely rude to a client. With social media today, it is easier than ever to see what is going on in other people’s lives and to judge ourselves against that. Ep 11: Done is Better Than Perfect
This is a message on consistency! Often times we find ourselves waiting waiting waiting for the perfect opportunity to start something. We think the timing needs to be just right or the resources need to be just right. We talk ourselves out of trying because we’re convinced there would be a better time to do it. But what if that ‘better time’ never comes? What opportunities are you holding yourself back from? Or maybe your aren’t waiting anymore, you are doing the thing, you have begun working towards your goal, but you stop yourself short because you know it’s not perfect, or you know it’s not high quality. Give yourself permission to suck! Everyone is bad when they try something new. Everyone has a hard time sticking with new habits. The difference between someone who gets better and someone who stays the same is the person who is willing to stay consistent despite being bad.

Ep 4: How To Be A Better Listener
We are in a time of social unrest. It’s time to start acknowledging that this problem belongs to all of us. It’s time to go into the scary dungeons of our minds and begun to unearth some of the ways that we perpetuate white supremacy. Here’s my belief: we’re all way broken and stuck in the stories that have been passed down to us. Not just within racism, but within our mental health and the way we navigate the world. I also believe that we can change. This problem is not a quick fix, but in an effort to start SOMEWHERE, today we’re going to talk about how to be a better listener. We need to be able to HEAR and ACCEPT what someone else is going through rather than putting up barriers and making yourself separate from someone else.
