Alan's Record Bin

By Alan's Record Bin

This is a show in which I’ll be digging through my fairly extensive music collection and pulling out random things to talk about. In each show, I’ll pick a different song, talk a little about the history of the song, tell some story about why it’s in my collection and what it means to me, and then play the song for you. Each episode will feature something totally different – it could be rock, funk, prog, metal, classical, maybe some celtic or world music, maybe even some rap or country -- you never know what you might get.

I've got funk on the brain this week, inspired by last week's appearance of George Clinton and Sheila E on The Masked Singer. I talk about the origin of my love of funk and play a couple of Parliament-Funkadelic classics that they recorded together. Enjoy!
