Interview with Cam Harless (Part 2)

Interview with Cam Harless (Part 2)

This is part 2 of the Aletheia Quest with Alan Fahrner "Interview with Cam Harless."

Who is Cam?

Cam is a brother in Christ who, depending on your perspective, became famous (or infamous) when his joke on Twitter was retweeted by a Washington Post journalist and…before all was done…the Washington Post newsroom had a tsunami of drama, the original journalist was suspended, and another one was fired.

What could a guy like Cam have tweeted that led to all that carnage?  Over four episodes, we’ll discuss that, Cam's "blood feud" with Sean Austin (aka Samwise Gamgee), truth in the modern age, whether Christians should use social media, how it was to be a guest on Tucker Carlson Tonight, and a whole lot more.  I mean, a whole lot more. :-)

But a very interesting "whole lot more."

Please check it out and let Cam and I know what you think in the comments.

Oh, and please be sure to...

- Follow Cam Harless on Twitter: https://twitter.com/hamcarless
- Subscribe to his "The Made Ones" YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/TheMadOnes/

A HUGE thanks to Cam for being kind enough to join me on Aletheia Quest!

Swearing

Swearing

After a bit of a hiatus, the sixteenth episode of Aletheia Quest with Alan Fahrner is “Swearing," where we look at whether swearing is acceptable for Christians, or people in general.

You can read the rough episode notes here...

...to see what verses are leveraged.

What do you think? Please comment.

Why, Why, Why?

Why, Why, Why?

The fifteenth episode of Aletheia Quest with Alan Fahrner is “Why, Why, Why?" which is my imperfect attempt to answer why God would allow such a horrible thing to happen as what did to so many children this past week in Uvalde, Texas.

A Grumpy Person's Kryptonite

The eleventh episode of Aletheia Quest with Alan Fahrner is “A Grumpy Person's Kryptonite," where we learn the truth about how we can often choose which way an initially negative conversation is going to go with how we respond.

We'll also take a look at how we can judge truth in political spin.

(Please note, there is no intent to take a political side. It is discussed in order to lead to a larger point about truth.)

What Now?

What Now?

The tenth episode of Aletheia Quest with Alan Fahrner is “What Now?," where we harmonize Jesus saying, "It is finished" on the cross...and the fact we are still around.

This week the final one of a four part series:

1. What Went Wrong?
2. What Was Tried?
3. What Finally Worked?
4. What Now?

Now that we know the correct treatment for our spiritual ailment, what now?

What Finally Worked?

What Finally Worked?

The ninth episode of Aletheia Quest with Alan Fahrner is “What Finally Worked?," where we find out the truth about the only cure for our spiritual disease.

This week is the third of a four part series:

1. What Went Wrong?
2. What Was Tried?
3. What Finally Worked?
4. What Now?

In order to understand how we should handle our spiritual malaise, we first spent time investigating what really went wrong…and discovered that it was not our original parents failing some test they were given with an arbitrary rule. Instead, it was a breakdown of trust, our trust of God.

Then, last week, we looked at all the treatments that didn’t work.  That will keep us from acting like a popular definition of insanity: “doing the same thing over-and-over and expecting a different outcome.”

This week is “What Finally Worked?,” where we focus on the one-and-only effective treatment for our spiritual disease. Unintentionally, but serendipitously, this episode is premiering on Easter.  That probably gives you a clue about “What Finally Worked.” :-)

What Was Tried?

What Was Tried?

The eighth episode of Aletheia Quest with Alan Fahrner is “What Was Tried?," where we consider was tried for mankind's spiritual disease.

Together, let's avoid prescribing treatments that already have proven ineffective (or worse).

#2 in a 4 part series:

1. What Went Wrong?
2. What Was Tried?
3. What Finally Worked?
4. What Now?

What Went Wrong?

What Went Wrong?

The seventh episode of Aletheia Quest with Alan Fahrner is “What Went Wrong?," where we apply the truth that the only way you can properly treat a disease is by knowing what's actually wrong. That's also true when the disease is spiritual.

Let's avoid spiritual malpractice together.

#1 in a 4 part series:

1. What Went Wrong?
2. What Was Tried?
3. What Finally Worked?
4. What Now?

Scriptures in this broadcast (all "English Standard Version"):

- You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor (Exodus 20:16).

- You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with a wicked man to be a malicious witness. You shall not fall in with the many to do evil, nor shall you bear witness in a lawsuit, siding with the many, so as to pervert justice, nor shall you be partial to a poor man in his lawsuit (Exodus 23:1-3).

- A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will not escape (Proverbs 19:5).

- A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will perish (Proverbs 19:9).

- A false witness will perish, but the word of a man who hears will endure (Proverbs 21:28).

- Be not a witness against your neighbor without cause, and do not deceive with your lips.  Do not say, “I will do to him as he has done to me; I will pay the man back for what he has done” (Proverbs 24:28-29).

- And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them (Luke 6:31).

- And behold, a man came up to him, saying, “Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?” And he said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments.” He said to him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 19:16-19).

Oh, and we sneak in a short discussion about someone...gasp!...talking about "the best version of the truth." What did New York Times Executive Editor Dean Baquet mean?
