Our first real empowered episode! So much less sexism and more discussion of what it looks like when writers are being thoughtful and intentional with the creation of characters.

How much damage have male creators inflicted on female character? Batgirl answers that question, Invisible Woman has her ups and downs with sexism as well. Saturngirl, Supergirl, Aquagirl....we've got grown women being reduced to children to talk about! Wanna hear me get hype about the patriarchy's subliminal messages and how sexism can be super subtle and right in your face at the same time? Well here you go...

Its apparently side character week! The 50s were filled with a blatant disregard for women as human beings...I meant in comic books but ya know in real life too. Here is some classic examples of women being tossed to the side.

We cover more years then usual as we wrap up the Golden Age of Comics, the end of the 40s wasn't a huge time for superpowered women but don't fret there is another surge to get into soon. 

Lois was created to be a damsel in distress for Superman and for too many years she has been kept in that box, today we discuss her as herself as well as her as Superwoman and all the other Superwomen that came after her. 

Today we are diving into the women of 1941, a few side characters that definitely didn't stand the test of time set the tone for all forgotten heroes after them. But before we get to talk about one of the biggest female heroes of all time we must talk about the women that surround her.

Today we talk about the most enduring characters of 1940, one is sneaky and one can fly but there's got to be more to their characters then that right?
