It has been said once that a wise man has something to say, but a fool just got to say something. Proverbs 6:2 tells us that "you have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth." Traps catch us unaware and are usually painful. Some traps may even cost us something like our our health, jobs, marriages, or even our lives. What you say is what you get. If you speak hate, you will receive hate, but if you speak love you will receive love. Can you receive what you give out? If not, shut your trap!

Have you ever wondered,"Why when I pray, my mind wonders?" or "How do I make my mind mine?"  Sometimes, you have to rethink some things in order to change your life. Philippians 4:8-9 gives us tips on what we should consider when we have a thought to share. Is your thought true? Is your thought lovely? Is your thought noble? Is your thought worthy of praise? If the answer is no to any of these, then it shouldn't be a thought. Don't believe everything you think. Sick thoughts lead to a sick life and fearful thoughts lead to a fearful life. Godly thinking equals a Godly living. 

Did you know that you have favor on your life and with that favor you are unstoppable? This week's sermon was brought to you by Rev. Thompson and Rev Lyons. Both discussing this year's theme, uncommon favor. Rev Thompson spoke about Daniel in the lion's den and provided 2 signs let you  know that you are dripping in favor. Rev. Lyons discussed how Paul and Silas were not shaken by their prison sentences. In fact, Paul and Silas's praise and worship, caused God to provide an earthquake that released them out of jail.  

Are your negative thoughts a stronghold? The bible says in Philippians 4:8 that “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Negative thoughts do not equal a positive life. What you believe is what you become. Instead of complaining, place your thoughts on God.  He can help you turn those negative thoughts around. 

Is your mouth a stronghold? The bible says in Proverbs 18:20-21 that "A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” You create your world with your words. If you want your life to change directions, then you have to change your mouth. Speak life. Tame your tongue. Watch your mouth.
