All About The Doubt

By All About The Doubt

(Reassuring, humorous, honest) Self doubt, insecurity, Imposter Syndrome can strike any of us at any time. It’s definitely something that the two hosts of All About The Doubt are familiar with. Scott, a Musician & You Tube Creator, Rob (his Dad) a Mental Health Professional, Public Speaker & Professional Actor - not the sorts of roles immediately associated with introversion, self-doubt & fear. Each week, Scott, Rob & guests, will share their own experiences of self-doubt and how they learned to overcome it. If you have a habit of talking yourself out of things, join us each week!

( Reassuring, honest and humorous )

It's 2021 and we'd like to wish everyone all the best for a healthy, happy new year!

Our guest this week is travel and lifestyle writer and published author Cara Jasmine Bradley - and it';s fair to say that Cara's warmth, incredible humour and rather vivid imagination are present all the way through the episode !!

We learn all about Cara's route into writing, through producing children's literature, blogs and published articles but Cara also talks very openly about her battles with Anorexia over the years, which gave her the inspiration for her first published novel called Skin and Bone, published in October 2020.

In this very colourful, imaginative, and heartwarming episode, we also meet Marzipan the Hamster and Ella ( she's half girl half shark! )

We also give away yet another mug, , there's some revealing news in the Very Very Very Very Important News section and as for Mr Whitfield......well.....it's probably best you find out the rest for yourself:

So  join us as we welcome in 2021.

EP #2.2 - When do dinosaur pyjamas become unacceptable ?

EP #2.2 - When do dinosaur pyjamas become unacceptable ?

( Reassuring, honest and humorous )

Yes, we may still  be locked down. Yes, out tiers may be causing tears. Yes, Christmas may be looking a bit rubbish, but it’s not all bad news and we are making sure of that!

Our guess this week is the brilliant Jamie Sharp, professional musician, Tutor at the National Youth Theatre of New Zealand and the writer and producer of The Daily Make, a daily music production challenge, where Jamie has committed himself to writing, producing and uploading a brand new piece of music every day - for a whole year !

In this episode, we hear some of Jamie's pieces and the inspiration behind them, we talk about the challenges of cats and Christmas trees, Mr Whitfield appears as small child in pyjamas and yes, as promised, we give away our first mug to one lucky listener - just for sharing some good news!

So come on, stop worrying about bubbles,  put a coat on, get you headphones in, grab the dog if you have one and head out with us for an hour.

Please don't forget to get involved.

EP #2.1 - We will never be defeated !!

We are back for Series 2 ( the socially distanced one! ).  Yes, it's been a VERY LONG year,  the days are short and the nights are long,  but...... the boys are back to see you through 'Lockdown 2.0' ( and whatever may occur beyond - who knows!? ).

Our guest for Episode 1 of Season 2 is Debbie West.  Debbie is a communications consultant and podcast specialist, and is the host of a brilliant podcast called Be a Bigger Fish. She is also Vice Chair of the Chartered Institute for Public Relations Editorial Board.

In this episode, we experience the technical challenges of lockdown, we lose Scott for a while, we talk about how to rate the quality of benches and introduce a brand new feature lovingly entitled "So you want a new mug, have one on us!!"

Oh, and yes, Mr Whitfield returns fresh faced and as random as ever!

Welcome back!!

SERIES #1 - BONUS EPISODE with J-JAY ROCKET

SERIES #1 - BONUS EPISODE with J-JAY ROCKET

Series one is all done, but as we hinted at the end of Episode #12 and before we officially return for Series 2, there was one very important thing that we wanted to do.

And this is it…

So welcome back to a very special BONUS Episode.

A few weeks ago, we received an e-mail from one of our listeners. A guy called J-Jay Rocket who opened up to us for the first time ever, and in a very honest way, about his personal experiences of living with Social Anxiety.

Many people commented about how brave J-Jay was to do this, that his bravery to open up had touched them and we were asked whether we thought J-Jay would come onto the Podcast.

Well, here’s proof that, no matter how vulnerable we may feel, or how anxious or isolated we may be, we always have a choice.

J-Jay chose to join us, and this is his Episode. Please give it a listen.

Thank you so much for your continued support. We are taking a short break but will be back soon

Please continue to send us your comments, but more importantly for now, join us in saying a huge thanks to J-Jay.

Oh, and if you’re wondering whether Mr Whitfield joins us……well what do you think!?!

See you soon!

Ep #12 - It sometimes feels unachievable, that’s why we do it...

So here we are at Episode #12 and the end of Season 1. It felt unachievable but we did it anyway. We had doubts but they didn’t stop us. Our guest this week is Paul Rogerson, Co-Artistic Director of Restoke, a Community Interest Company and not-for-profit arts organisation based in Stoke On Trent. We talk about the benefits of community arts projects on Mental Health and on how they can be used to encourage open, honest, authentic communication. We also discuss social media, roundabouts, our favourite chocolate bars and the colour of pigeons.  Mr Whitfield is back of course and this time he’s adolescent!

Thank you so much for your continued support. We are taking a short break but will be back soon!

Ep #11 - Sometimes you've got to go backwards to go forwards...

The boys are back for Episode #11 and we are still trying to get over the image of Rob’ mum ( Scott’s Grandma ) riding a horse with Hugh Grant!! This week our guest is Jonny Lea a Personal Trainer and Online Body Transformation Coach. We talk about the connection between physical and mental health and the importance of recovery. We also ask what would happen if David Attenborough took helium, we find a whole new perspective on the importance of omelettes, we introduce a new and very important ’news headline’ section and of course Mr Whitfield returns with his helpful blend of experience and insights.

Se we have three generations trying to get to grips with the demands of modern life. We cover the supportive nature of the NHS, blue rinses, how soup makers work and what we would do to scare ourselves - in a good way! Does Mr Whitfield make another appearance? Absolutely, as Hugh Grant on a white stead carrying a jar of honey! What else did you expect!
