Season 3: Episode 66: Liberal Racism Pt. 1

Season 3: Episode 66: Liberal Racism Pt. 1

The idea of this podcast was born out of me reading a book by Robin DiAngelo, called 'Nice Racism'. In it she describes how progressive white people perpetuate racial harm. The book made me take a look at my own life & realize that I had never encountered overt racism, but the times that I did feel racism being directed at me, it was at the hands of a white person that would think of themselves as progressive. My friend Garrett  & I discuss this dynamic in episode 66.

Season 2: Episode 58: The Other #MeToo

Season 2: Episode 58: The Other #MeToo

I was watching rapper DMX freestyle, and he said something that caught my attention. X said that at 13 years old, he slept with a 36 year old woman, which led him to not being able to control his sexual desires throughout his life. What caught my attention was that nobody made a big deal out of this statement; it was largely glossed over. If a female rapper said that she slept with a 36 year old man when she was 13 years old, it would be front page news. 1 and 6 boys are sexually abused before their 18th birthday, and we as a country don't pay nearly enough attention to this statistic. I bring on licensed professional counselor, Bianca Goodrum to talk about this rarely discussed topic.....boys who suffer sexual abuse.
