This secret polluter is getting into the air we breathe; it accounts for nearly half of road transport particulate emissions; it’s the second biggest microplastic polluter in our oceans, and there’s no regulations or anything to stop it from doing so.
So, what is the polluter we’re talking about?
It’s tyre dust.
Siobhan Anderson is from the multi-award-winning start-up called The Tyre Collective, which consists of four students who are determined to make a difference. They are the students who made this video, and they are the four individuals who have come up with a solution to this problem.

#05 Why The UK's Road Freight Future Should be Electric (with David Cebon)
David Cebon is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Cambridge University, the Director of the Centre for Sustainable Road Freight, and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. He has co-authored more than 150 papers on HGVs and has a strong focus on sustainability in our road freight sector.
David is currently setting out the case for a nationwide rollout of Electric Road Systems in the UK through the 2030s as the only real tangible solution to decarbonise our long-haul freight vehicles.

Philip Fjeld has been working in the natural gas industry since 2002 when he joined Hoegh LNG, an LNG shipowner in Oslo, Norway. In 2014, Philip co-founded CNG fuels which develops, owns, and operates Bio-CNG refuelling infrastructure here in the UK.
CNG Fuels develops, owns, and operates CNG refuelling infrastructure and sources 100% Renewable Biomethane or Bio-CNG for its stations. They are currently rolling out a UK-wide network of reliable and convenient refuelling facilities to service customer’s vehicle fleets and their off-grid energy needs.
