Happy Wednesday everyone! Hope you all are having an excellent day. I want to share a question with you today that I believe everyone should star ask themselves daily and anytime you are going to make any decision. The question is: How will this help me and how will this hurt me? For example, if you are trying to lose weight and reach a target weight like me, I know I have to stay focused on working out and eating clean. So, if I am craving ice cream (which I always do) before I pull out the ice cream from the freezer I need to ask myself “if I eat this, will this help me or will this hurt me” in reaching my weight goal? As you can tell eating that ice cream will not help me reach my fitness goal. So, I will choose to stay away from it. Hope this helps! If it does lets connect on twitter @al_designs Instagram alondralopezphotography or facebook alondralopoez.designs
If you’re aiming to be the best at what you do, you can’t worry about whether your actions will upset others, or what they’ll think of you. Tim Grover
We have such a fear of what others will think of us that we use that fear as an excuse to not act and take the path we need to.
Why do we do that to ourselves?
Why do we limit our potential do to what others may think?
Society in general will labeling us. What do I mean?
As kids we receive the first of these labels by our parents/teachers/family.
As we grow up, the community adds its own set.
Some can be good, but for the most part labels are negative and they limit us.
These labels and opinions stop us from find the courage to reach or goals and full potential.
What we need to do is dig deep inside, discover who we really are and then create our true labels.
If others don’t like it, screw them!
Let them have their opinions about you! You know the real you and that’s all that should matter.

Happy Friday everyone!
Welcome to another episode of The Creative Podcast. I want to start off with a quote by Grant Cardone. If you go out and start making things happen, something will happen. I can contest to that. You guys know that I have been on a fitness journey since last year and more aggressively this year. My goal is to reach my lowest ever recorded weight of 165 lbs back in 2015. On January 1, 2018 I weighed in at 204 lbs and as of now May 25, 2018 I am down to 174 lbs. That’s a total of 30 lbs. So, when I saw this quote I realized how true it is. In order for me to reach my 1st target weight of 165 I had to 1st commit, 2nd focus and 3rd go out and make it happen (put in the work). People say I am crazy and that I don’t need to workout as much as I do per week, but they don’t know what I need or want! I know my body, I’ve done it before and lost 110lbs. and because I’ve done it before I know exactly how much I need to push myself! You can’t tell me what I need because my b
Hey guys! Welcome to Thursday’s Designer Tip. “Design is thinking made visual.” –Saul Bass My tip for today is to participate in a daily design challenge. You can start your own or join one. Currently I joined the Adobe Daily Creative Challenge and today is day 3. It’s a pretty cool challenge and well needed for me as a designer because I need to practice my AI skills. My current job is repetitive and well this is a great way for me to practice. You can check out the challenge yourself and join for free. The only way for us to improve is to practice daily and have fun with it!. #AL_Designs #TheCreativePodcast #TheCreativeVlog #ThursdaysDesignerTip #Designer #DesignerTip
Hey guys! Good morning! Here are Wednesday’s words of wisdom: Mentoring is an indispensable requirement for an artist's growth. Not only are skills and experience shared, but there is value in the essential re-examination of one's own work and techniques. -Jim Norman This is an awesome quote! As an artist myself mentorship is very important. I have always wanted to find a mentor for different areas of my life. I am currently blessed with 4. The first two are my parents, they have raised me to be the person I am today, my faith and moral principles are do to their teachings. Now as an adult I know based upon my core foundation what is right and wrong based on what they taught me. My 2nd mentor is my trainer, he has taught me what it takes to succeed in the health and fitness department. With his guidance I have begun to see results and I am super happy. My 3rd mentor is my photography instructor. With his teaching I have begun to see and understand photography with a new set of eyes. Ph
Hey guys! This is The Creative Podcast Tuesday’s Photography tip! I want to talk about portraits today. When taking portraits, remember these 6 steps. 1) ask the person which is their best side, 2) if they are sitting on a chair/stool make sure their body is slightly turned and that they lower one of their shoulders, 3) Their head should be tilted down not up, we don’t want to see nostrils, 4) show the hands, if you must cut off the limbs you can cut them between joints (never on the joints), 5) Make sure you land your focal point on the eye closest to you, 6) The best apertures to shoot your portraits are f2.8 –f 5.6 and make sure it’s a tight crop. I hope these tip help you! Let me know if you try them by connecting with me on twitter @al_designs and Instagram alondralopezphotography and mentioning the podcast. #AL_Designs #TheCreativePodcast #TheCreativeVlog #TuesdaysTip #TuesdaysPhotographyTip #PhotographyTip #Photography
Hey guys! Here is Monday’s Motivation. Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible. - Tony Robbins. Since I mentioned to you guys that I heard Grant Cardone say that he writes his goals twice a day in his daily planner, I started Appling that principle. I bought his 10X planner to get me started (you can see my 10X vlog on Youtube by searching Alondra Lopez Designs). The planner lasted me about 90 days, but I did notice a big difference in: 1) how much more organized I got. 2) I realized how much dead time I had during the day that wasn’t being used productively and 3) by using this planner I accomplished a lot of the goals/targets I set for the day/week/month. I am very pleased with the planner, but most importantly the basic concept of the importance of writing down you goals daily. Writing them down and keeping them near allows you to reread them during the day and it pushes you to try and complete them. There are times you won’t complete them, but that
Happy T.G.I.F guys! I hope you are having a wonderful start to your day! Today is another hustle day for me. I have my training at 6pm, because my health is one of my top priorities for this year. I want to reach my goal of 150 lbs, but also maintain it for life. Maintaining it is harder than losing it, but its doable. Tonight I will finish editing/upload my fitness vlog on some of the meals that I currently eat and that have helped me lose weight. You can find it on YouTube: Alondrita Fitness. After that, I need to clear out my memory cards and prepare my camera for tomorrow’s 15era photoshoot. I plan to go to bed early so I can wake up at 5:30 to get my workout done early. I hope you guys have a productive day, remember if you are not doing tasks that will get you closer to your goals and dreams it’s time to change that! Have a blessed day and let’s go out there and get creative. #AL_Designs #TheCReativePodcast #TheCreativeVlog #TGIF #TheGrindIncludesFriday
Hey guys! Today is Thursday’s Designer Tip. But I want to start with a quote: “Creativity is nothing but a mind set free.” –Torrie T. Asai. In the design world or any creative industry the main ingredient is creativity. If you are a designer, photographer or and other creative person you know first hand that there are times when you are lost for ideas. So what do you do when that happens? I do the following 1) I will search online for design ideas and see what others are doing, 2) I open up my program #illustrator or #photoshop and begin designing something, I usually start with my text and advance from there. I noticed that as soon as I create one design a new idea pops in my head and eventually I have 4-5 new designs. The 3rd thing that helps me is hiking, when I am out in nature my mind tends to clear out, I feel relaxed and stress free, I breath in clean air, I listen to sounds and quietness of my surroundings, I let the fresh breeze hit my face. By not stressing myself out about p
Hey guys! Here are Wednesday’s Words of wisdom: Not every day is good. But there is something good in everyday. I agree with this 100%. Somedays are better than others, but there is still something we can be thankful and grateful to have or experience even on bad days. Even the simple things we take for granted like: another day of life, our eyes to see, feet & legs to walk, hands to grab, ears, mouth and our brain and it ability to learn and think. The trick in life is to stay as positive as much as you can. Have a blessed day and lets go out and get creative. #AL_Designs #TheCreativePodcast #TheCreativeVlog #Positive #Positivity #WednesdayWordsOfWisdom
Hey guys! Happy Monday and welcome to a new month! A month with 30 new days to work hard, smart and with passion. Here is your Monday’s Motivation: If you dream big it won’t cost you any more than if you dream small, so you might as well go big. I like that statement because its true, dreaming costs us nothing yet we always limit our thoughts of dreaming big. We think we can never accomplish that or we are crazy for even think that. But guys we have to dream big, that is the only way we are going to get anywhere in life. Since this is a new month it is the perfect time for you to set your goals for the week/month. These are a few of my goals for the week: daily reading, diet and workouts on check, lose 2lbs, film my fitness vlog update, finish editing my family vlog, take more photos and apply to more openings. I invite you to set your goals and to increase your dream size. Get at it, dream it, set it and work at it! Have a blessed day! #AL_Designs #TheCreativePodcast #TheCreativeVlog
Hey guys! This is the last Friday of the month so make it count. How was your month overall? Take a look back at your month and #1 count your blessing #2 ask yourself if you accomplished your goals for the month #3 did you try something new?. My month was a good month, came up short on a few goals, but I have another day of life to tackle them. I set deadlines for myself even on non-paid projects like my family vlog on #YouTube called Salvajes Al 100 and my fitness #vlog Alondrita Fitness so that I am disciplined in creating the content. I hope you guys give the last Friday of the month 100%. Have a blessed day and let’s go out there and get creative. #AL_Designs #TheCreativePodcast #TheCreativeVlog #TGIF #FridayMotivation #TheGrindIncludesFriday
Hey guys! Today is Thursday’s designer tip! When I create graphics my main design program is Adobe Illustrator. I use Illustrator because it creates vector files (a digital graphic file that its made up of many lines and curves or better known as paths). With a vector file you can stretch out your design as big or small as you want without losing resolution quality. When I edit photos, I use Photoshop because PS creates a Raster image (an image composed of pixels). You can design in either programs, I just prefer Illustrator for designs and Photoshop for photos. When I open up a new Illustrator file, I create the document using the final size of the project including the bleed when required. For example, a business card is 3.5” x 2” if it does not require a bleed I make my doc size 3.5” x 2”. If my card requires a bleed my doc size will be 3.75” x 2.25” giving me a .25” bleed for trimming. Inside the card I will also keep an inner safety border of .25” all around. I work with layer so
Hey guys today’s Wednesday’s Words of Wisdom are a of a great poem I read in a book and I like to share it with you. I hope you enjoy it. Be Deaf when Someone Says You Can’t Grant Cardone Be deaf when someone says you cannot do it! Be deaf when someone says it is impossible! Be deaf when anyone tries to put limits on you! For these people who make efforts to limit you and suggest that you cannot fulfill yours dreams are dangerous people. These people have given up on their dreams and seek to convince you to do the same. And do not be confused by them when they suggest that they are only trying to help you! Help is not what they offer. What they really seek to do is have you join the ranks of slaves, the apathetic, and the hopeless. Be deaf to all of them. #AL_Designs #TheCreativePodcast #TheCreativeVlog #WednesdaysWordsofWisdom #poem #wisdom
Hey guys! Here is your Tuesday’s photography tip. When shooting outdoors on a nice sunny day we already talked about setting an ISO of 200, but it is important to always meter for the sky first so that when you take your photo your image will have a nice blue sky vs a blown out white sky. Here is how you do it, set your camera on auto, yes is said auto. Now point your camera to the sky (where its all blue and no clouds) press the shutter half way down, this is when the camera meters its surroundings. Now take the photo, preview your photo and check the setting that your camera set. Now switch back to manual mode or aperture priority and dial in the settings your camera set in auto. You have now metered for the sky and you are ready to shoot. Enjoy this quick tip, go out and practice and if you have any questions lets connect on twitter @al_designs | Instagram @alondralopezphotography | Facebook AlondraLopez.Designs | Youtube Alondra Lopez Designs. #AL_Designs #TheCreativePodcast #T
Your well being physically & mentally should be your top priority. We live in such a busy time right now, that we neglect to take care of ourselves. We look out for other first before we tend to our personal needs. I’ve seen it amongst my family and friends, heck I am guilty of it myself. We need to stop that cycle. If you don’t put YOURSELF first there is going to come a point where you wont be able to care for yourself or anyone else. That is the worst thing you can do, because life is about helping each other and caring for each other’s wellbeing, but if you are not at your best physically and mental how can you help others? Today I invite you to stop for a moment and ask yourself a few questions like: What can I start doing today to improve my quality of life and health? What are the areas physically or mentally that I am in need of help? And by taking care of myself first how many more people can I help? Taking care of ourselves first is hard, but it is doable and so important for
Good morning everyone! This is Saturday’s start! I hope you all are enjoying your beautiful Saturday! I know I am! I started my morning at 6am with a gym workout and a stop at Starbucks. Got home and showered and made my oatmeal. Since it is Saturday, that means I have to weigh myself. The scale was good to me and I am about 15lbs away from my first target. Yesterday I was able to finish editing and exporting my new vlog but I did not uploaded it. So this morning I got to it and it is now live, please check it out on Youtube search Alondra Lopez Designs. I have a busy day today because its my niece’s birthday party and I will be taking photos so I wanted to start my day early and get as much done before. I hope you enjoy the quote and that you have a blessed Saturday surrounded by your loved ones. Be grateful for another day, count your many blessing and spread positivity. Talk to you tomorrow! #AL_designs #TheCreativePodcast #TheCreativeVlog #SaturdayMorning #SaturdayStart
Last Friday I invited you all to do something that is not part of your normal routine and that makes you uncomfortable. How did you do? Mine was to update my resume and apply for new work.I did updated my resume but failed to apply anywhere. I did do the search and got idea of what is currently available. There are a few places I am interested in. So this week I invite you to go over what we talked about last week and let me know if you did anything out of the normal. If you didn’t that’s ok I challenge you to do something today. I will be editing and posting a new Creative vlog episode tomorrow so make sure you check that out on youtube (search Alondra Lopez Designs). Have a blessed day and lets go out and get creative. #AL_Designs #TheCreativeVlog #TheCreativePodcast #Challenge #TGIF #TheGrindIncludesFriday
Thursday’s Photography Tip is on black & white photos. There are two options you can use to create a B&W photo. The first is to convert the image to B&W in post processing. This is the most common one and you have the option of keeping both the color version and the B&W version. The second option, and I think this is the best option in giving you a truer B&W photo is to set your camera to monochrome. With this setting your image will be taken in B&W so there is no post processing conversion needed. The down side is that you won’t have the color photo, but if your intent is to capture a B&W then you don’t need the color version. This is just a tip/opinion, you can choose whatever option is best for you. Have a blessed day and lets go out and get creative. #AL_Designs #TheCreativePodcast #TheCreativeVlog #ThursdayTip #ThursdaysPhotographyTip #Photography #PhotographyTip #BlackandWhite #BlackandWhitePhotos
If you are not expanding you are contracting. You need targets, a reason and goals. We need a reason to wake up every morning and make some kind of impact on this world and those around us even if it’s a small contribution. You should have different targets and goals for all areas of your life, right now my 2 main categories are health and fitness and career advancements. I suggest you buy a note book and start writing down what is important to you, and take action towards expanding your current situation. Have a blessed day! #AL_Designs #TheCreativePodcast #TheCreativeVlog #WednesdaysWordsOfWisdom #goals #targets #reason
“We take photos as a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone.”
As a student of photography and aspiring photographer it brings me so much joy to be able to have the power of capturing life’s most memorable moments. Photography is like having a super power thanks to our cameras.
The nice thing about having digital cameras is that you can shoot all you want. Today you have no limit, if you make a mistake that’s ok, take another picture. My tip for you aspiring photographers is to get out there and shoot. Take as many pictures as you can and capture as many beautiful and meaningful moments as you possible can. #AL_Designs #TheCreativeVlog #TheCreativePodcast #TuesdayThoughts #Photography #TuesdaysTip #TuesdaysPhotographyTip
