Just Getting Started

In this week's episode and the season finale of Just Getting Started, we are joined by Liz Bagu, a Mercy College alum and Sponsorship Program Specialist at Google. Liz has an incredible background working in media and marketing for companies such as Disney and NBCUniversal and we will hear all about her journey so far, what she has learned along the way, and advice she has for those who are interested in working in the media industry. 

In this week’s episode, Gabby Ramdass shares her story of how she became a Talent Brand Coordinator at Pinterest and why it is important to find a career to aligns with your values. Gabby also talks about how she manages burnout and balances work and life when she is working from home. We also talk about what she enjoys doing outside of work, including traveling, reading, and photography.

In this week's episode, we are joined by Vera Verba, a graduate from The Macaulay Honors College at CUNY Baruch and currently the Director of Content Strategy & Programming at Sesame Workshop. Vera shares her experience overcoming anxiety in college, studying abroad in Italy, and networking her way into Sesame where she has built her career over the last 8 years. We will also hear about Vera's experience moving out for the first time in her 20s and advice she has for those who are trying to figure out their path.  

In this week's episode, we are joined by Rachel Celentano, a multi-talented multi-tasking business professional who went from studying to be a music teacher to getting her MBA and becoming an Associate Account Executive at Kellen. On top of her MBA program and a full-time job, Rachel also works on her family's foundation, the Celentano Foundation, which provides scholarships to graduating high schoolers who are looking to pursue music degrees. Rachel's story is both unique and inspiring as she talks about how always being open to new opportunities led her to where she is today. Hear all about her experience, what she has learned along the way, as well as advice she has for young professionals who are also discovering their path.

In this week's episode, we are joined by Madison Flickinger, a Michigan native turned NYC puppy mom and Manager of Strategic Marketing at Loom. We will hear about Madison's career journey so far, from starting her career working in sales and account management roles at a big company like Bloomberg, to working at startups and growth-stage companies where she was able to transition from account management to marketing. We'll learn how she was able to pivot her career focus, as well as what she's learned so far throughout her career, including finding a job that aligns with what you're passionate about. 

In this week's episode, we are joined by Dez, AKA @Dez.TheLez on TikTok and Dez the Lez on YouTube. Dez is a full-time content creator who has garnered a community of 3M followers and growing! We will hear about Dez's journey to rising to TikTok fame and what it's like to be a full-time content creator. We will also learn a little bit about her previous jobs working at theme parks and how having a supportive partner inspires her to continue to follow her passions. 

In this week's episode, Taylor Price shares her experience from starting her career at Hulu to making the switch to The Morning Brew where she is now the Campaign Strategy Manager. We will hear all about her love for spreadsheets and how they helped with her job search and how she was able to grow at her first job. We will also hear about how she learned to manage and grow a team, what she looks for when hiring, and what her favorite ice breaker question is.

Before she started her career, Kelly wanted to work in media and had big dreams to move to New York City. She made those dreams a reality and made the move to New York for college where she did internships, made connections, and worked hard to land her first job post-grad as an Affiliate Marketing Coordinator at NBCUniversal. A few years and one pandemic later, she ended up back home in Seattle to be closer to family and made the move from media to technology. Hear all about Kelly's journey and the advice she has for those who are interested in starting their career in marketing and the media industry.

In this week's episode of Just Getting Started, we sit down with Kathryn Di Maggio, a Hematology-Oncology Infusion Licensed Practical Nurse from Long Island, NY. The path to how she got to where she is today was not a straight one, however, exploring different majors in college helped her discover her passion for nursing.
