The Ohio Valley Giant Pumpkin Growers Weigh-Off has grown beyond the Youngstown area and is now a world-renowned pumpkin contest. They are part of a worldwide organization that takes the ten largest pumpkins at each weigh-off to determine the global winner. Ohio growers compete with other groups from Pennsylvania, New York, and even other countries like Spain and Italy. The local group took the world championship many times — even just last year! Ohio Valley Giant Pumpkin Growers hold weigh-ins for more than just big pumpkins, including long gourds, watermelon, squash, tomatoes, peppers, and more.
Every year on Labor Day weekend, fairgoers from all around the State come to the Canfield Fairgrounds for the annual Canfield Fair. Try out the many food vendors or see shows at the Grandstand — from tractor pulls to large concerts!
